I don’t know why but I love the thought of Pyra thinking “why won’t it die? I’ve burned it like 9 fu*cking times!” When a red pikmin is thrown at her.
Actually happens a ton on quickplay and elite smash. They don't ever play against olimar, so they get confused trying to swat away pikmin. Free hits for me

Olimar is honestly probably the most underrated character. I don't personally play him, but I actually get excited when I get to play him from random
I don't know, I'd personally argue Pikachu or Olimar are just as underrated if not more.

It even applies to stages with water that characters swim in. Only the blue Pikmin will survive if Olimar takes a dip.

Also if you do a secret command you unlock fiddlebert who can automatically wipe out any character in one blow

Olimar underated
This made me wanna buy smash ultimate for the sole purpose of maining olimar to bully my opponents with the pikmin
Olimar is an underrated character in general.
As a olimar main since brawl it’s funny watching people get mad at just the idea of him existing
Olimar cool, just kinda takes a bit to figure him out
One time I was doing an all random 4 person smash with some friends and I was on a winning streak. Then I got Olimar. And ended up winning again. Greatest moment of my gaming career
When I got into pikmin I started using Olimar a lot.
TBH, Olimar is my biggest main
I knew olimar was a good underrated character, but the fact that you can dysync with him seems absurd yet very nice to have.

Also here's a damage combo, in the garden of hope be olimar and have any opponent, get your opponent under the pot being built and then SPAM DOWN SMASH it racks up so much damage
Olimar is pretty cool, but i like Alph purely because of his eyes and how they shut when hit. Don't get me wrong, Olimar's bug-eyes are tee-hee, but alph is just adorable, little protectable boy, silly little shortcake. Olimar just gives me war veteran vibes: still cool, but not my style.

The purple pikmin also do insane spike damage, when you get it right

Never hated Olimar but I got into the pikmin series a few years back and decided to force myself to learn how to play Olimar after half a decade of other simpler characters
Learning all the pikmin types, when and how to use them, along with how to properly play neutral all while managing pikmin is the most frustrated i’ve ever been playing any video game. It’s HARD man. I will never trash on an olimar player again. They know their shit

Fighting a Yellow pickmin as Robin is a goddamn nightmare, levin sword doesn’t do anything

So three things to remember against olimar is don’t panic to desyncs, hit your techs, and watch out for full hop over you into bair with a purple pikmin
my favorite olimar fact is that he technically does better into simon than richter. because richters flame is magic and simons is fire.
I love how Olimar has the Purple Pikmin from Pikmin 2 and not from Pikmin 3, since they’re just as OP as here in Smash ( Imagine if they could stun too like ZSS’s Neutral B )

You probably don’t know cause you never play with items but if you trow a pikmin at a item he will bring it back to you. And they have a massive grab range for items

Whenever i go against an olimar that just spam throws pikmin to the point where i can barely approach them, i just do a few Nairs to get the pikmin off, run up to olimar and I N H A L E.
I then proceed to spam pikmin back. (I main Kirby if it wasnt obvious)

Question for fellow Pikmin fans - Would canon Olimar, who is far tinier but capable of commanding far more Pikmin, be better or worse in Smash?
I mean if you think about it his hitbox would be extremely tiny also he could command 100 pikmin possibly all purples, turn enemies to stone with bitter spray, buff his Pikmin even more with ultra spicy spray. He'd be a menace
