That was the Absolute Power show. There were 25,000 people in attendance for the Earthshaker festival. It had all the past and present members of Manowar onstage. At previous big festivals they've had vikings fighting onstage to various songs, with video presentations to the various songs.

Heavy Metal or no Metal at all, wimps and Posers... leave the hall.
Manowar is as brilliant and as cheesy as metal gets. If they didn't make stupidly good music they'd be the laughing stock of the scene. But when you compose "Hail and Kill" and "The Bridge of Death" you can be as out there as you want.
There are three kinds of people in metal
    1) Manowar fans
    2) Secret Manowar fans
    3) People with no sense of humour.

To me that label belongs to bands and artists like Alice Cooper, Kiss, Iron Maiden; bands that use an excessive amount of theatrics, stage props, light shows to convey their music live. Iron Maiden having a 10 foot tall Eddie on stage is OTT, Alice Cooper having a cyclops and guillotine on stage is OTT, Gene Simmons breathing fire and throwing up blood is OTT. Manowar singing about the primal, warrior spirit of heavy metal music isn't OTT.

The DVD has its own Wikipedia page, but here's some highlights: Not only did the 2-hour show feature _two_ ex-drummers and _two_ ex-guitarists, they also had the 50 member *Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra.* It was a retrospect show, but in addition to this extended version of _Battle Hymn_ there was also _Herz aus Stahl_ - a German version of _Heart of Steel_ - which is *really* worth seeing. They had all of their previous guitarists and drummers on the show. Both Donnie Hamzik and Rhino (drummers) had appeared only in one album before this show while Scott Columbus was in the rest of them. Donnie was always my favorite Manowar drummer (appeared in their debut album) and I thought he did the best job here too. What a fantastic stage presence. Also, I bet Vin would've liked the original recording a lot too even though he said the points came mostly from the live show. And man, they need to hear songs like Hail And Kill, Guyana and Bridge of Death too.

YES YES SO MUCH YES! This was the first solo I learned for playing in a band! We didn't ever get anywhere or play live, but during practice we wanted to play this and the guy on lead guitars at the time taught me this solo. That was in my 3rd year of guitar (2003, I started in 2000). His like, 10th year, so he was better than me at the time (he doesn't play anymore). I knew other solos, but never ones I was planing on doing in a band. This song holds a special place in my heart!

the key thing here: it was a reunion show, they had past members playing simultaniously, hence three drummers

Manowar have an emotional appeal to me. I was about fourteen, and my brother had a Manowar cover band. I loved it, I went to every concert. So Manowar came to play in our city in Brazil in 1995, what was then an absurd rarity (I live in Brasília, capital of Brazil, where at the time almost no great band played). It was my first show of what for us was a great international band (and still is). I still love the songs and I listen often. My brother's band still meets from time to time and is always a great party between metal friends and rockers. You have to listen to "Kill with power" and "Blood of My Enemies" live!

The set list was like 45 to 50 songs.

They came out of NYC in 1982 they were a big act regionally they used to play the classic rock club L'amour the rock capital of Brooklyn. They refused to accept invites to be an opening act for the likes of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy etc. They became a stadium act in Europe but for the last 30 years they been a club or small theater act in the United States sadly. Their first first 6 albums were amazing. And I'm going on record saying Eric Adams is the best vocalist in Metal. He's a trained opera singer and used to sing in a church choir.

VinAnd Sori, now you have done it. Since I began attending to reaction videos I have pondered how I might actually introduce Manowar to people.
I've been away for a few weeks, working, and now I come back to an Internet I don't recognize. When I left one of my fave RUclipsrs burst a bothersome bubble in my head by reacting to *the perfect* first-time song from The Smashing Pumpkins; now it's around the middle of April and you guys come out with some Weird Al and MANOWAR? How long has this be-?... How is it that Lost In Vegas...is - ... Vocal Coach Analyzes Manowar... It looks like someone's girlfriend is having an extrasensory experience with 'Silent Lucidity' over there...
I am unsure as to whom I owe the unexplained pleasure, yet I surely am grateful to someone.
One of your our best Internet friends you didn't know you have,

Speaking about that concert it was a special one
First they played some of the song with an Orchestra
Second they played a brand new song
Third they managed to reunited all the former members of the band for the show
They also tried to get a good friend of the band to do a part on one song but unfortunately he couldn't make it, That good friend was the great Cristopher Lee (Saruman from lord of the Rings)

I think Sori you will especially love this: It’s time you reviewed a second QUEENSRYCHE (another Seattle band) song. Vin loved ‘Eyes Of A Stranger’ last year. I recommend ‘Silent Lucidity’ their biggest hit. It went Top 10 in 91 and was nominated for Grammys and AMAs and nominated for 5 MTV Video awards, winning one, beating R.E.M.s Losing My Religion in the Viewers Choice category. It is a beautifully lush ballad with strings by Michael Kamen of Metallica fame as well as many film scores. The album Empire went triple platinum and is their biggest seller, even though ‘94’s Promised Land debuted at number 3 on Billboard. Queensryche is a band that deserves your attention. You will love it so much I think. Video is great too. Please use the studio version or official video version. No good quality live clips. Trust me. Sooo good.
