I've only gone for a 48v 1kw motor on my bomber build, it'll do me fine as I need distance rather than speed anyway, mines an easy fit with 170mm dropouts so most normal mtb motors will fit, and a cash I've saved not going big motored I'm spending on bling lol
Went out on this last night steve absolutely love it mate brilliant fun and it pulls 👍 came back with freezing cold hands but a big grin on my face 😊
Great conversion if anyone is thinking the same way 👌 big shout out to dude stuff for sorting the beast out 👊Dred fx custom paint
Glad you like it mate 😁
Wear gloves amazing invention
Hay my new frame nice. It's light compared to my asian clone steel frame.
It's not an adult ebike... Look at the size of it😂😂😂
Beautiful wheel 🤠🙏🤟🇬🇧
Oh and the72v 5000w kit works with the 72v 3000w battery. I'm using that set up now. On that frame with out that paint job. Sorry Rob for not getting back to u on the paint job😅😅
I did 2 QS205's with sabvotons controler and ran them on 52V battery no problem.. Yes it doesn't go 50mph...still does 38 ish hot of the chargr and runs just fine. Never had a problem with the massive phase cables on the QS205 that can take up to 14kw easy....
Nice build tho..still not legal so ;-)
Winter Glove Hack - two pairs of normal, thin wooly gloves, then buy a box of polythene DIY disposables, put these between the gloves. Works way better than big bulky gloves, and the insulation effect is amazing. Same for feet - plastic bag between two pairs of socks.
Mountain bikers have been doing this for decades!
Will look into this thanks!!
Tights under Jean's, builder's labourer 30 years
Long John's....... If your bollox can handle them😂
My ebike weighs 40Lbs 🤠🙏 22mph 22amps 42v 9.8ah Lg cells.20 mile range in summer going slowly 😅, i need a 20ah next battery but they're very heavy 🤠🇬🇧🤟EBIKES 4 LIFE 🇬🇧🤠😇🤟🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧⚡i prefer a light bicycle with assist over a heavy tank type.
It's not the battery that's the issue it's the controller, that motor can run that little 52v battery but judging by what your saying, the controller phase wires will overheat because they are smaller than the motor phase wires. If you try with a sabvoton or Fardriver with that small 52v battery you will have no issues 🎉. Great video though and bike!
Wicked bike that! Watched a few of your build videos, and I've not seen you use a twist grip for the throttle, any particular reason or is it just personal preference?
Get yourself some trespass re usable gel hand warmers. Slip them down the back of your gloves. Toasty.
SealSkinz are good bicycling gloves, if commuting, consider heated
I finally built my bike giant talon 52v 20ah 47mph top speed 2000w mtx hub that pushes 4000w it’s so fast and really torquey
Nice, bet it's fun!!
@user-bu1xw3gf8c mines triangle
@T33GLA it’s made into a rucksack 🎒
I feel the reason for having the extra speed is for getting away from theives
id love to buy/find a moped/scooter and try and convert it with a mid drive motor ,that way it should easily pass the registration exam for road use as long the brakes etc all up to good
This is all fantastic and I’m sure everyone would like a silent bike like this but for £600 you can do a cbt buy a moped and insure it and be legal and be able to achieve 50mph and if you know what you’re looking at I’m sure you could possibly do it cheaper. £1500 you could you a dt 125 and achieve 90 mph. The thing is until the price comes down on all this electric stuff you’re pissing in the wind. Don’t get me wrong I like the idea but average person doesn’t have a grand for a battery.
All true but these are aimed at a different market. No insurance needed. No licence. No road tax. You can ride it anywhere a normal pedal cycle is allowed to go...
@@mastergraphic9998these E-bikes are illegal to ride on uk roads, if the police catch him they will confiscate it and that’s fact. I like the idea don’t get me wrong but my point was it’s just too expensive I’d personally love an oset 24 but it’s pointless when the police will just take it and I end up with a ban. A moped is half the price legal and faster. Until the uk pass a law stating it’s ok to ride these it’s illegal
@@Ajwhayahahastill illegal in the uk and police will take it off him. I understand the target audience but like I say my point is it’s too expensive and it’s illegal rendering it pointless
Why is that spanner swinging constantly? Lol.
It's happy 😊
I use 100% Brisker cold gloves in the winter
Whats the dewalt battery doing? Powering lights?
Yes
he said for lights and alarm system
I'm glad its running for Rob, but it's a shame about all the work, like painting his hub, I remember him doing it and the small V/Ah battery but Its great to help your mate out. The workshop looks mint 🤟🏻 😉
I paid £500 for my 72v (60a BMS), I think it would have been a better option, not for speed, but for ease of build.
No trolling, I have ALWAYS liked yours and Andy’s build.
Where did you get a 72v battery for that much?
UPP battery. I’d drop the link for my build (quick ride) but I’d rather ask first………….i have a great Ekart I built my son………….
@@stabbawivagun yeah drop a link bro
What do you think of my boys bike??
This guy is a legend I would love to turn my trek 8.7 elite to a electric bike I would fly to work
i just ordered my 2000w kit :) for my mountainbike
21:00 ... yeah the speedo is probably out by a mile...doesn´t look any faster than 15.5mph...😏
I think you're absolutely right!
Tried pass link to free wheel that probably work steve
Good job and a nice bit of kit that, i'd love that in an old classic 70's 80's bike,
I can't offer any recommendations but guess neoprene gloves of some sort would be the way to go if you don't want bulky.
Torque and big suspension is another kind of fun.
Have you ever done duel battery setups
Can you use a 72v battery on this hub motor? Great video and nice bike take care gav ✌
Definitely can on the 5kw. You can over power the 2kw hub but I'm not sure by how much I'd like to try that
Like the reviews
Your bang on its not cheap I have a 5000watt with a 72v 40ah.. 300bms fardriver controller but it's 25kw and tbh like you said its to much for around town... Fun when you wanna have a blast tho but on a day to day I just tickle it about 30-40mph max
Hi i watch your stuff wigh intrest, i wonder if you can advise me, i have the engwe 750w pro i love the bike but worried about being pulled by the police because its 750watt motor!
Could i just change the back wheel for a 250w motor, do i have to change anything with the controller or battery?
And where can i get the 250 watt wheel.
I wouldn't waste your money if you're that worried just make sure it's locked and limited and throttle is disconnected. Even an unlocked 250w will do 22mph or with a 48v battery probably 25-30
@@DudeStuff i did lock the throttle and lock the speed, to about 17mph, but going up the steep hills in rayleigh the bike was so sluggish and trying to peddle to get the motor to kick in up the hill in slow traffic was a nightmare, so i unlocked everything and its so much better.
I think i will just take my chances, thanks for the advice!
@@ieonking1053don't worry about it, just say what they want to hear and your good. I was pulled over 5 times last year no issues 😅 when I first got pulled over in 2019 I was doing 30 and they loved the idea of an "ebike" even asked me to show them how fast it goes lol they wasn't mainstream at the time and I thought they was laying out a trap but they turned out to be nice officers. Stay safe on it haha
@@aaron092000is oh cool that give me confidence now to ride my bike without worrying 👍
Wicked bike that! Watched a few of your build videos, and I've not seen you use a twist grip for the throttle, any particular reason or is it just personal preference?

Hack I learnt for motorbike tyres esp tubeless ones get some decent sized zip-ties and tighten them all around the tyre to make sure the block isn't inside. Gets the tyre compressed enough you can slot it on the rim then just cut the ties pull 'em out gently and fill the tyre with a compressor or air shot
you mentioned winter , i think a E-trike would be a fantastic idea ,no slidey fall off on snow and ice , maybe dual hub motors for both rear wheels
I got a 4 wheel e scooter from Yidi. Stock it's 1000w dual motor ( at the rear) just modded it the two front wheels are now 2000w each and same at the rear. 55 mph no sliding and it even comes with reverse drive!

love the content mate you've made me want to convert my mountain bike will be grabbing the 2000w kit end of the month 😎👌also what's with the swinging spanner in the back lol am i the only one who noticed ?
Yes, I'm definitely interested in this kit... i have just been thinking of converting an old bsa bantam trials bike to something like this and maybe even adding a mid drive motor too. Let me know more on the kit if you can..
Checking the axle size vs the ebike axle and dropout dimension is a consideration. But also mtb disc vs motorbike caliper compatibility. Also you'd probably not need a chain at all and could just use it direct drive. Tempted to try this with my retro ducati sports bike.
@@DudeStuffthe rear axle dropouts are 155mm so hopefully its doable... the rear wheel is 18inch though. I'm thinking of a mid drive as well as rear motor so I can peddle it still to deter plod attention. 🚔 I'm not far from you I think if you fancy a coffee and chat about doing both builds.
Do it
Awfull bikes, nicely painted tho
hmm was that just sum product placement lolz nice battery
NICE ONE!
