I agree totally with your assessment of the GWDCT. I finally got the chance to ride one at Lake George, Americade last week. I’ve been a Harley rider for 40 years, but frankly, at 70, it’s too dam heavy to push around anymore, and the noise is killing my ears. My pipes aren’t that loud, and I wear earplugs, but the sound of the GW is so nice, and, quiet, it surely would turn 500 mile days into 800-1000 mile days very easily. I thinks it’s time for this old man to move on to a more manageable motorcycle. This wing is over 100 lbs. less weight than my 940lb. FLHTK.

I bought my first Gold Wing in 1976. Bought a Vetter frame mounted fairing and 3 piece Samsonite hard bags with the wing mounting hardware. Installed a Hella headlight and driving lights. Loaded the bike up with the wife and all our camping gear and toured for two weeks exploring the western states and Canada, That was the best motorcycle we vacation ever had, No need for stage 1-4 mods. No worries aftermarket parts are on the way,

After a quick glance at how long this video would take to watch, I'm happy to report I watched the whole thing right through, as if riding pillion.
What a fabulous machine. Honda have led the world in practical motorcycling, pretty much from when they began producing the humble "Honda 50" (some may know it as the "Cub"); the company has rarely dropped the ball - and the Gold Wing has remained aloof, all the way back to its inception. What a bike…

Awesome ride, great video! I was one of those who had the older, first iteration GoldWings; the 1000cc 1976 or 78, I forget which year! But they were awesome back then! I progressed up from the Honda 450cc, to the 750cc (another classic bike), then the 1000cc. Added a cruise control and was on the road! Now retired also, was looking at this and what Honda has done with this new iteration and really liking it; even thinking about getting one and rejoicing the riding world!
All the best to ya., 👍

I also put the F 4 windshield on my wing, it’s about 4 inches wider. It took that wind off my shoulders that was putting pressure on them from being pushed back. The windshield , and the Heli bar risers are two must if you want comfort on long trips, just my opinion,

yes the lord really has blessed you Arturo, I have just enjoyed an hour of your company and thoroughly enjoyed the ride though the wine country of California with you and the Goldwing. It shows just how smooth and well balanced the bike is especially for such a heavy bike. your footage is what Motorcycling is all about for me, enjoying the ride and scenery not having it all pass as a blur. I am missing my bike as currently on holiday in Sunny and dry Spain and can't wait to get home although I know it is bound to be wet and windy when I return to the UK. Anyway thank you for the ride and Honda really should use your footage to to sell the Wing it is perfect.

I bought the Heli bar risers for $ 129 dollars which brings the bars back a couple of inches, now I have a bend in my arms which is so much more comfortable to ride. You owe that to yourself, you’ll love the difference, hope this helps! 😊

I appreciate this Video which I stumbled upon this evening. I own a Road King Special, Ducati Hyperstrada, Yamaha XSR900 and a CRF250L Rally. Traded in a 2010 GoldWing GL1800 Audio (only) in Arrest-Me Yellow on the 2019 RKS in stunning Scorched Orange and Denim. Harley does Great Paint and ignores Technology [yes, I realize they added MSDRABCD traction control suite for 20 Touring.] I sure do miss the GW reverse at the age of 75. Tossing Around three Ultimate Touring Bikes: GW DCT, Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental and BMW K1600B Grand America. Each of these has Reverse and Storage, Storage, Storage. But that DCT is the sheet (I think). Haven't ridden any of the three yet due to Ohio's Shelter in Place restrictions. Appreciate your candor during this video. I do wish you were an ATGATT person. Park, (which was still closed from winter snow), by the time we got to the hotel in Redding, it was 106 degrees, they had enough and wanted to head back down to Pismo where of course it is much cooler. Never did get to ride the 20 from the 101 out to the 1. Maybe this year I'll make the ride myself.

"Lmaoooo"...!!! What an awesome comment: "Naked we come into this world, and Naked we leave"... lol... And it's NOT EVER WRONG to OWN AN GOLDWING IN THE MEANTIME... Right..?? lol... Nicely said mate.. (PS: I've always liked to 'look' at the GoldWing and liked how people Customize their Bikes with lights, paints Stereo's and also even small trailers and small Campers.. Such a fun bike to do whatever You want with it... But, as I said.. I liked to look at it, and to see others GoldWing Bikes, But I've never ever felt like owning one myself.. Cos, I just felt they got bigger and bigger and further and further away from being a "Real Bike".. And some GW-Owners just didn't seem when to STOP 'Pimp'n' out their rides/bikes and it just got tooooo damn much on some and they just ended up destroying a nice bike.. And I've sort of had written off the whole GoldWing bike for myself to own... And the last Touring Bike I ended up owning myself was the "Honda 1300 Pan European" which was a very nice bike to Use and travel on as a Couple.. But, due to my health Issues I had to sell it.. But Now, with the (almost..) whole New GoldWing that's gotten a lot smaller and so much more sporty.. And it also looks a hell of a lot more Sporty too... And I've seen all these Vid's out on the RUclips, reviewing the New 2018 GoldWing.. And almost ALL have nothing but good things to say about it.. And those that are only trying to say and tell you the real truth about it, and they happen to say something negative about it too.. I just feel like they are only and really just Nit Picking this bike to shreds.. And it also feels like they are actually Struggling to even manage to come up with something Negative at all... And that also seem to be a common Thread thru all these Vid's and Clips and Reviews that is Made of this GoldWing Bike.. People (well, at least Most People anyway..), People just seem to be so Happy and Satisfied, and just So Pleased with the Whole Bike itself.. So, it really seem that Honda did a very Nice and Good Job about this, almost New Bike (I would certainly and almost go as far to say, and to call it.. A NEW BIKE.. as I just did just now, even some would prob not agree with me on that/this.. Well, it's Not far away from being a New Bike at least..) But some other thing I've come to notice when I've looked at all these Vid's and Reviews on the new Honda, 2018 GoldWing Bike, is that almost ALL and EVERYONE of them have some time or another Called it, or said it to be a "SMOOTH" Ride or a "SMOOTH" Bike.. So... "I wonder if it's "SMOOTH" or not"... lol...
Another thing I also happen to enjoy and like really much about this New Honda GoldWing, is that it comes and sells with two different Options.. One more Touring and made for two people traveling over long distances on Holidays and Vacations maybe.. ANd one option is more Sporty and is made out to be a lot more sporty too.. And I really like that Option.. And I also (even though I've not yet tried it out and driven it myself yet...) I seem to like the New Auto Transmission it now got... And the gear changes on it really seem to be nothing but (here it comes form me too...) Nothing but "SMOOTH".. And when I saw and watched this Video too.. I've noticed when You/He drove over a Train Crossing...And the Bike almost didn't even take a notice that the Train Way was even there... It just ATE UP those Bumps as if they was/is Nothing at all.. And all of us that have ridden a few years on a Bike/Motorcycle, we know that a Train Passing (Especially in the wet..), it can actually be quite dangerous to have to do.. But, this Goldwing didn't seem to have any problems with it, or any kind of heavy and hard bumps at all.. It just seem to be the most Comfortable Bike you can ever have or own right now.. And to even Manage that, what Honda have done with this "Very Heavy Bike" is nothing but Amazing actually.. COs it all goes against each other.. Heavy to be Sporty... Comfortable but Sporty.. Etc etc etc.. So a BIG BIG KUDOS to HONDA for even managing all that into one Bike... Amazing.. And I totally get it, when even this "Harley Davidson-Man" say that he really LOVES it.. I totally get him for saying that.. And it also once again just Proves how GOOD and just how GREAT this "NEW" HONDA 2018 GOLDWING BIKE really is..
So, with (all..) that said.. Thanks for a very Nice (Long but not boring..), and Good Video and with a little Reviewing on the side there.. Cool and Fun and also Entertaining to see and watch..
And, You are Prob also very right when You say you live in "Bike-Riding-Heaven".. Cos, the Scenery beside and Around the roads you was driving on was just SO STUNNING TO WATCH.. ANd I had a Great Look around You as you where driving around... So, Beautiful.. But.. We also have some very Nice and/but.. Maybe not too good Roads.. But they are very Fun and Enjoyable to Ride on, and the Whole Nature around You is some of the Best out there in the Whole World.. Here in a little Land and Country called Norway..And once Bikers come here to drive and go thru the whole Country from "Bottom" to the "Top" (The top is the most Northern Point you can Go or Drive to in the Whole Europe, and is a Big, BIG TOURIST MAGNET to People all over the world, and it's called the NORDKAPP (or North Cape in English..) And bikers who have done the whole trip from the Southeast Point in Norway called Lindesnes.. And it's a Trip on about 2600 km, or 1616 Miles to drive.. And I even though Google Maps say it's done in about 39 hours.. I would rather use about a Week or even more and put in some things that are worth seeing and stay a few days extra in some places and Cities, to really SEE all things that's worth seeing and Staying there for.. And also, once in a while, get of the main road and take a smaller road and go on some of the many Ferry's along the way, and to go in and out of, and around of some of the Fjords is just also SOO COOL and AMAZING.. Just to see those BIG BIG CRUISER SHIPS go inside those very small Fjords and See that/their GREEN and BLUE Water in the Fjords, is also something You never will ever forget.. And You certainly will NEVER EVER REGRET you took the trip in the first place... And, it's also such nice Roads and Rides for a Biker and also for his Passenger (if he have one..) or his Companion to go on and Use.. At least, just once in a lifetime..
So and also, most and Many Bikers that have done the trip once, they always seem to come back and do it once and three times again, just so they can see and learn all there is along the way.. And I think it was the Travel Channel that Named it 1 thing You really should have on your Bucket List, and they also said it was 1 of the 5 Best and Nicest and Coolest and Most FUN ROADS and Ways to Go once in your lifetime.. What the other 4 Places or Roads was, they didn't say or Mention.. But I think that New Zealand from Top to Bottom was also one of them.. Well.. Anyway.. Once again.. THANX SO MUCH FOR A NICE VID.. AND FOR A NICE "NEW" BIKE.. CON GRATZ TO YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT.. And also, Thanx for trying out something else than a "Harley Davidson" too.. I don't think that You will regret it once at all... But.. You will Prob. get/be in trouble with/from all the HD owners out there, that think you have betrayed them or something... When in fact.. "YOU ARE JUST BEING 'SMART' AND USING YOUR HEAD MORE THAN THEY ARE DOING... AND, ALSO.. SOME OF THEM ARE PROB. ALSO BEING KINDA JEALOUS OF YOU, STANDING UP FOR YOURSELF AND BUYING A BIKE THAT YOU WANT FOR/ON YOUR OWN.. COS...AFTER ALL.. LET's JUST FACE IT.. THE NEW 2018 GOLDWING IS A BETTER BIKE THAN MANY OTHER BIKES OUT THERE..(and I wouldn't have said this about the old bike that used to be.. But the new one.. well, that is something on it's own.. Right..??)
So, GOOD LUCK TO YOU and YOUR NEW BIKE... (Well, we all know it's a HONDA... So, it will/won't probably NEVER EVER beak down on you if you just follow regular Checkups and Services.. You will have that Bike for LIFE BUDDY.. SO, (once again.. I have to say to You..)
"CON GRATZ TO YOU AND YOUR NEW BIKE "Mr.Arturo Meuniot".. MAY YOU BOTH LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER" LIKE IN ALL STORIES OUT THERE.. AND DUE TO THE NEW AND FANCY TECHNOLOGY OF RUclips, I HOPE YOU WILL MANAGE OR TRY TO POST AS MANY VID's OF YOU AND YOUR NEW BIKE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE... JUST "KEEP THAT CAMERA ROLLING BUDDY"... SO WE ALL CAN BE RIGHT BESIDE YOU IN A WAY...RIGHT... SO HERE, A BIG AND GREAT CHEERS TO YOU AND YOUR NEW TRIPS AND NEW ADVENTURE THAT's OUT THERE JUST WAITING FOR YOU AND YOUR NEW GOLDWING TO DRIVE INTO AND EXPLORE SOME MORE, REALLY, JUST HAVE A GOOD ONE Mr.Art"..??? lol...
