    Posting another comment here.
Have you ever experimented with buying frozen fruit and then processing that? I find that frozen fruit offers more cost. Effective measures than buying fresh fruit. For example, I have a small health store. And I want to sell only organic free stride fruit. So I buy big bags of organic frozen berries like strawberries and blueberries.
My thoughts are that it's better to buy the pre frozen than fresh. Because fresh costs more for less berries. And then the fruit has to be frozen any ways, so you don't really notice. The difference between fresh and frozen since the fresh will be frozen.
I would say that buying frozen blueberries is a little inconvenient compared to fresh but when you can buy a four pound bag of organic blueberries for thirteen dollars, It's hard to turn that down.
I do prefer to buy fresh bananas though. Bananas are 100% the greatest ROI fruit. Even organic bananas are super cheap and you can get a few pounds for only a few dollars.

I agree. The reason I run fresh fruit is more peace of mind for me because I know what state it's in prior to it being put in a bag to be frozen. I do think the organic frozen fruit is worth buying. I haven't found there to be much of difference in taste but there's a difference in the overall look of the product after freeze-dried for pre-frozen packaged fruit vs fresh.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh but I highly highly strongly reccomend that everyone should employ the "DRY CHECK" METHOD... WHY? Because I've run and recorded many many loads and know that if you employ the DRY METHOD CHECK.. I can consistantly get the weight drop EVERYTIME.. The default amount of time the FD unit comes with IS NOT ENOUGH! THAT IS A FACT! The last thing you need is you open a back of your FD food, and because it was not COMPETELY DRY.. it's now spoiled. Just because you break a piece of food on a tray at the end of a cycle and it sounds and looks dry..DOES NOT MEAN IT'S DRY. Be smart and employ the DRY CHECK METHOD.. !

@@stephaniestrong6485 you take trays out as the process say "it's done" and put each one on the scale...write down the weight and put them back (shuffle two top and two bottom trays with each other, as the middle has different temperatures), put extra 2-3h of process and check them again (if numbers doesn't shift or change from before) that's correctly dried food 🙂

If they had sensors for each tray and had a bigger heater wire assembly, then the drying would be more efficient. With modern technology , could be done. With modulation of the heater maintenance would solve the waste.

    • @freezedriedbusiness
      @freezedriedbusiness  7 месяцев назад

Freeze drying technology is much more advanced now than it was 10 years ago and is why Harvest Right has been constantly innovating and updating their systems and software. I'm sure they have a reason for the sensor being on one tray versus all. Could be to keep costs down for the consumer or something else. I'll continue to dig into this industry for everyone!

It's the same dimensions just looks small because the 6 tray has a lower surface volume between each shelve so it looks smaller but it's the same.

Can't recommend HR - If you ever had or researched a Stay Fresh FD you would never consider a Harvest Right. Too many problems - low quality - terrible customer service - sketchy warranty backing. Buyer Beware!!! Check consumer complaints and you will see more problems than not. Just Saying . . . .

    • @MochaZilla

I have to agree with this. I bought a Large freeze dryer in twenty twenty one. Brand new. It was the epitome of a piece of crap. I had non-stop issues with inadequate vacuum errors. And the machine was essentially not able to be used for about a year. When I got close to the end of my warranty. I contacted them and was really mad and had them. Take the machine back to repair it.
After talking to my wife we decided we wanted to downsize to a medium. I talked to my engineer and he said that. They usually don't allow people to change sizes. But that they would allow me to downsize this one time and that I would receive a check for the difference Is between the large and medium.
A few weeks ago , bye and I was notified that the medium freeze dryer has been shipped but have not been told about the check. When I called back, the upper management told me that my engineer was wrong and that I would not be receiving a check. I told him that this was unacceptable and that if I am not getting my money back. I want to get a large because that's what I paid for. Also, they offered the medium freestyre with only $200. Store credit to compensate me instead of giving me a check.
I said no and that I want my Large freeze dryer back. Guess what Happened?
They sent me the medium freeze dryer and then a few weeks I got my large freeze dryer.
So I called up the engineer and told him that I got the medium freeze dryer and it was sitting in my garage. They said hold on to it until they schedule to pick up period about two months goes by and I still didn't hear anything at all.
I was very tempted to just keep it. Because I did my part and did exactly as I was told. And it's not my job to tell them about it. But I prayed to the Lord and I felt it on my heart. That I should at least make one more attempt. So I called them one more time. And they had it picked up the next week.
My current unit is technically a used large freeze dryer. However it has never really given me any problems. So I am more pleased now. However , I am kind of left with a bad taste in my mouth towards harvest right and will likely go to another company in the future.
