Just some encouragement for people who have made a career on social media or want to. Any field of creativity is directly tied to your mind and spirit so you have to be careful not to allow the game and business of it to swallow you. I have been through so many burn outs, ups and downs with this career. But I learned that YOUR success is what makes YOU happy, fulfilling YOUR purpose! DO NOT focus on the numbers! I mean it definitely is hard and discouraging looking at your hard work and how the algorithm does not honor, respect or reward you for it. BUT what is FOR YOU... IS FOR YOU!!! Social media is literally a controlled system. It is not always a true reflection of you, your work and your purpose. These platforms, these people, these numbers, this society does NOT define you!!! YOU'RE BIGGER. Get out the race and go where the universe will lead you. Into your greatest self and greatest life. Dig deep in your own heart and spirit and discover what's MEANT for YOU. Its crazy how youtube has changed since ive been watching since 2009..... i see how different races get paid wayyyyy more then others. They get into all types social media drama and still get paid more then the more interesting channels!!! And there’s very few blacks channels that hit 1million subscribers! Then I noticed i dont get my notifications on alot of my old channels i love to watch...
EXACTLY... which is why i dont do social media at all. The Jstars, mannymua's and Pewdipies andTati's have no personality, but somehow people love them. They make millions with no imagination and interiest on their channel, but those who put effort in their channel have to work 10X as hard. Social media is just another version of society... people of color STILL have to work twice as hard to showcase themsevlves when our ideals are so influential in society Meanwhile the people who are emulating POC get so much more attention and somehow become the "face" of our ideas.

My clinical depression depressed me out of a job and house. I am happy you recognized it and worked towards healing.
2013 was my annus horriblis. Left my husband twice. I've overdosed on over the counter medication. Sabotaged my career. Ended my marriage. My grandmother and uncle died. I end the year homeless and 15000 in debt. I'm a little better now but it has been extremely tough, painful and traumatic.

Oh man can i relate to you on the 'friend' situation. I've always been the friend that would spend hourssssssss on the phone or with a friend being their ear , shoulder and anything else they needed but as soon as i even mention something i may be going thru its quickly rushed thru or brushed by and then its right back on them. WELP had to let them go and my life is soo much better and less stressful. It's sad but although i don't have friends at this moment i can at least focus on my growth with no distractions especially when it's not reciprocated. Respect for your honesty and showing us the realisation of being in RUclips and social media. And RUclips and other platforms should be making changes to protect the RUclipsrs in regards to mental health issues and safe guarding . It is a big issues nowadays. .

Yes, in terms of "friendships", i feel the same way. Sometimes the friends u keep is the reason u are at where u are at. N someone they want u to stay stuck and not elevate. When u start to feel drained of your energy, it could be because u have befriended an energy vampire. I also cut many off, n i noticed an increase in self love n happiness.

I'm a beginner RUclipsr, but I don't want to get so caught up in the numbers. I'm just happy that I started something I've been procrastinating about for so long. And I'm proud of myself for just starting. I pray to never get to the point where I'm not enjoying it anymore, so I try not to put too much pressure on myself. My main focus right now is to keep improving, stay consistent and to remember to have fun. I love your honesty and found encouragement from this. Thank you. 😊
