I was just about to comment this. Now we know why he said Michael was Trevor's lover and they stayed in a house together. We thought it was because they were hiding out together but it was because of that heist.
It is likely he wasn't referring to this heist, as it would come after Blitz Play, but it is another example of Trevor not liking clowns. It is why he sees them when high with Barry.

I think the heist was removed due to it potentially causing issues with the plot. In the final version of the game after Caida Libre, Trevor kidnapped Patricia, thus he and Michael had to go into hiding from Martin Madrazo at Sandy Shores. It was only at the end of Monkey Business when both of them and Martin agreed to a form of peace and returning Patricia. IMO making peace with Martin wasn't going to be easy but not impossible in this scenario. On the other hand, if they decided to do this heist, making peace with Martin would be a lot more difficult because not only was Patricia kidnapped, he was robbed and his guards were killed since this scenario means that all of them including Michael agreed to rob him while in the first one, Michael was mad at Trevor for taking Patricia. I think that if this heist was done, there would be problems with the plot on how they were able to get Martin to make peace unless they decided to "take care" of him. That's what I think though I may be overanalyzing this.
No, I think you're onto something here. Plot troubles were probably at least part of the reason for the heist's removal. Madrazo certainly wouldn't have ever forgave the trio for stealing millions of dollars from his own house, killing his guards, and kidnapping his wife. I guess between rewriting a story arc and just shortening the game and dev cycle, the latter was a no-brainer. No need to change the plot or implement horses or voice and animate cutscenes, just have Michael turn down the entire heist off the bat and save the trouble. As for whether it would actually affect The Third Way and Madrazo's fate, I dunno. I honestly don't think they'd just tack him on as a target since the whole gist of that mission's second half is everyone getting one target each, then they all deal with whats-his-name at the cliffside. I feel like adding Madrazo to kill would just make it feel more like a "lol go shoot the bad guys gg that's a loose end tied" cheap-out and it would make people confused when there's no sixth target. It's possible they might've cut this heist back when The Third Way was Franklin's death, or Madrazo simply would've given up, put the villa up for sale, and left Los Santos entirely.

The heist looks like fun and we only got a small handful of heists in the game and even fewer with all three protags. It's also interesting how there's three approaches on this one instead of the usual 2
I have to say, as cool as it would have been to have another heist, it does seem like there were practical, design-based reasons for cutting it. Rockstar didn't just give up on it. Also, Matt's right. That cutscene at the end of Caida Libre is iconic. I've always personally considered it the funniest single moment in the game. So I'm glad we have that.
As someone who works with horses the idea of someone managing to load a racehorse into a van amidst a shootout physically hurts me😂glad they cut this one

Then they could have made it with only Franklin and Trevor, maybe include Lamar too but he does himself without player controlling him. Or they could modify the heist and add it in online mode as a heist and Trevor being the boss for it, hiring the online character(s) to steal the gold thingy, kidnap Patricia and steal the Horse. Maybe add more secondary loot like gold or diamonds which will make it worthy of grinding like Cayo Perico Heist or Casino Heist.

I'm glad you said that at the end Matto was about to go to Reddit haha anyway I don't agree while, yes that is a very iconic cut scene if not one of my favorites, but after seeing this heist it seemed better then every heist in GTA story mode and seemed even better than most the online ones imo too (in my opinion) I loved the messed up animations😂 which they obv would've made better if it actually came out I loved the approach options the clown one I will say is a little junky with Franklin's. Blue ball blowing skills😂😂😂😂 sorry chat had to but I can think of a couple animations in my head rn that would've made sense saying the ball just came out of nowhere there wasn't like anysight of the un blow up version and that did make it look weird with a little bit of work and literally just making it a different girl swing Trevor which isn't at all difficult. 4:30 Matto made a funny 🤣great cut (reminds me of a certain joke 😉). This is one of the coolest GTA videos because not only have we got data-mined audio clips but a software engineer (major props SilverFinish) has used the assets (along with other programs) to produce the finished article, along with the background story 🤙well done to all involved. Seems like with that over zealous hand movement in that last cutscene the programmers might've gave it a nod there.
somewhat unrelated to the main point of this video but like i feel like we, or at least I, take for granted how amazing of work Matt does. I mean like i’m fairly positive he’s taught anyone that sees his videos or shorts at least one thing about gta they never knew, i’ve been playing since day 1 launch in 2013 and still learn new things, I just really appreciate the way he formats his content, especially in this video, disclosing a few assets had to be made by a third party modder but MOST of what we are seeing is rockstar, I just appreciate the clarity and the sharing of so many interesting little tidbits.

Can't wait to learn about the potential heaps of cut content from GTAVI. Eager for the game already as it is. And seeing how they managed horses so well in RDR2, can't help but wonder if they'll bring horses into Vice City to mix with the cars. Perhaps a rare horse and carriage livery service sighting like we have in real life major cities, police officers on horseback in public parks, private horse owners and horse racing events? Maybe wishful thinking, but it would be awesome to see.
Maybe GTA VII can take place in a state based off Pennsylvania so players can experience the joy of having to drive behind a bunch of Amish people in a horse buggy.
I personally think that the heist would have been really fun to play. But, that would have cut out a lot of missions in the game. I believe that I would have only enjoyed it, because it is different to what we have now, but with not knowing what we were going to get, I can't say that I would've missed much.

4:30 Matto made a funny 🤣great cut (reminds me of a certain joke 😉). This is one of the coolest GTA videos because not only have we got data-mined audio clips but a software engineer (major props SilverFinish) has used the assets (along with other programs) to produce the finished article, along with the background story 🤙well done to all involved. Seems like with that over zealous hand movement in that last cutscene the programmers might've gave it a nod there.

somewhat unrelated to the main point of this video but like i feel like we, or at least I, take for granted how amazing of work Matt does. I mean like i’m fairly positive he’s taught anyone that sees his videos or shorts at least one thing about gta they never knew, i’ve been playing since day 1 launch in 2013 and still learn new things, I just really appreciate the way he formats his content, especially in this video, disclosing a few assets had to be made by a third party modder but MOST of what we are seeing is rockstar, I just appreciate the clarity and the sharing of so many interesting little tidbits.

Can't wait to learn about the potential heaps of cut content from GTAVI. Eager for the game already as it is. And seeing how they managed horses so well in RDR2, can't help but wonder if they'll bring horses into Vice City to mix with the cars. Perhaps a rare horse and carriage livery service sighting like we have in real life major cities, police officers on horseback in public parks, private horse owners and horse racing events? Maybe wishful thinking, but it would be awesome to see.
Maybe GTA VII can take place in a state based off Pennsylvania so players can experience the joy of having to drive behind a bunch of Amish people in a horse buggy.
I personally think that the heist would have been really fun to play. But, that would have cut out a lot of missions in the game. I believe that I would have only enjoyed it, because it is different to what we have now, but with not knowing what we were going to get, I can't say that I would've missed much.
