Thank god it’s over. That feud was honestly getting super stale
That fued dragged for way too long.
The first 15 seconds of this show that the feud with Jericho had the required outcome and therefore lasted the correct amount of time.
My logic being that yes it would've been nicer for us to watch Jericho winning and the feud ending earlier but by dragging it out and having MJF keep getting these undeserved victories, the heat he has generated is unheard of in modern wrestling.
I like that MJF subtly helped push Pillman by “sarcastically” getting the crowd to chant his name. This dude is brilliant and far wiser than his years would suggest.
Dude is young but he understands his role. Get people to boo the villain and cheer the hero. Does it effortlessly too. This is the man that people love to hate so much it turned the entire into babyfaces lol
That's what a great heel does. MJF has such great crowd control abilities that he can get massive heat AND get people to pop for the babyface.
reminds me of Jericho doing the same for AJ Styles just after Y2AJ. People still to this day chant for AJ in the same exact way

MJF is a whole different level from everybody else. I can't believe he's only 25. He should be giving promo classes backstage. There are people that have been wrestling longer than he has been alive that can't cut a promo as well as he can.
All without dropping profanity in every other sentence. THAT's how you know this guy is good. He has perfect cadence; his elocution is on point; and he knows how to ebb and flow the conversation to include the crowd to keep it interactive. Like, wow, this guy is in a whole other league, the likes of which we haven't seen since Cena's Thuganomics days or the Attitude Era.

This is so true and feels like so many people probably missed that. He's literally getting heat while putting over and building his opponent into getting over with the crowd.
I think the old-school guys like Blanchard and Anderson backstage taught him to do that. That's classic heel promo stuff there.
Saw this promo live in NJ. You could of barely hear MJF because of how loud the audience were. He had the crowd hitting out the palms of his hands. That stage stomp trying to talk to Brian Pillman in hell was so brutal.
Yeah being there live this was a fantastic segment. It was one long, sustained jeer and it was glorious. That canvas stomp nearly caused a riot.
CM Punk was like "Wait, I can swear. What are the no no's?"
MJF has to be brave to throw jabs at the attendees when he insults anything and everything of their state. I could imagine the level of threats to this guy. Respect for his work.

As adults, we see a bigger picture of what professional wrestling can represent with the people who love it and wants to show it for us, while there are "others" who don't understand and just throw hot trash at our faces.

They are such good talents. Part of me doesn't want MJF to eat a loss, but then another part of me wants Pillman to beat MJF because that would really put him on the map. It is so conflicting.

I’m from New Jersey and I was there that night when MJF called New Jersey “The armpit of America” and I wasn’t even insulted in fact when I heard that line I couldn’t even hold in my laughter. MJF is like all the great wrestling heels of the past. The late Ravishing Rick Rude, Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase and the late great Rowdy Roddy Piper. They all had qualities that made you despise them but part of you couldn’t help but love them because all of these men had one thing in common they had great characters with off the charts charisma and even when you booed them you didn’t boo them out of hate you booed them because they were so great at being unlikeable jerks. MJF is that kind of heel.

MJF is the main reason I got hooked on AEW. With a few exceptions, I’ve always been a fan of the heels and MJF is the best I’ve seen in a long time.
