      How was the X disappointing? They’re both absolutely stunning. Neither disappoint me, they both amaze me. I feel like to say that one is disappointing is rather biased due to how close they are in most pictures. I personally think the note 9 looked better, but that doesn’t make the iPhone X disappointing. Most pictures were too close to call IMO. Both are great.

    • @CoffeeandWater
      @CoffeeandWater 6 лет назад +7

      It's surprising how big of a difference there is between the Note 9 and the X. I guess we'll see what Apple comes out with in a few weeks.

      PissedOffHoneyBadger how is their opinion biased when they own an iPhone now? I own an iPhone as well, and to be honest the note 9 still looked better on most pictures. I think iPhone has been “disappointing” because it has always been ahead of consumer technology but it has slowly been lagging behind in the past few years. Their computers and phones don’t even hold all the phone updates, software, cpus, and graphic cards compared to other companies that are cheaper. I only stick with Apple because if their IOS system, if they didn’t have that one thing I wouldn’t use Apple as much as I do now.

      I was a 3gs iPhone user when it came out then went to android lower end models for years. The LG 5 was my first flagship android phone I liked because of the cameras. I recently got the iPhone 8 plus for 6 months. I dropped it when the note 9 came out. If you are not to tied into the apple ecosystem androids are better phones for features and customization unless apple changes in this next upgrade. I'm so glad to have an android phone again. iPhone is better as a tablet as I say now. If you can live without imessage and facetime get a good android phone. I think I prefer a phone with an spen also. There are too many features in the note 9 for me to want to go back to something less.

    The Pixel 2 XL looked the best when exposing and in low-light in general, but there was more grain when shooting in 4K than with the Note. Note overexposed but saved face with shooting in 4K in low-light. iPhone X... it just looked wrong when exposing or shooting in Portrait mode.
    Overall judgement: for an all-around decent experience, I’d put the 2 XL ahead of the Note 9, but not terribly much.
    -From someone who uses the iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL.
    P.S: For those who might believe I am not objectively judging the Photos, I do in fact not rely upon my own personal experiences and judgement of how Google HDR+ is just the overall best at capturing photos in each scenario. To come to my conclusion, I compared all the pictures in the video and looked for obvious mishaps each phone had when shooting in various conditions and how much I take into consideration the quality of the image it turned out to be before I edit them and the amount of artifices that I can not correct for the better in either Lightroom or Pixelmator for HEVC photos shot on iPhone.

      I'm not an expert but to me, pixel did poorly. Surprisingly OnePlus 6 did better than pixel IMO.
      1. Note 9
      2. Oneplus 6
      3. Pixel/iPhone

    • @Heraldofgaming
      @Heraldofgaming 6 лет назад

      Sonu Kumar I have to admit that OnePlus 6, for the budget, has a camera that does rather fantastically in all sorts of conditions. However, if I had to rate the cameras on these smartphones, the Pixel 2 and Note 9 would be in A+ tier, iPhone X would be in A- to A tier, and OnePlus 6... you could argue it to be in A- tier, but I’d put it in B+ tier because in some instances there was a bit of an oil painting effect.

    • @Heraldofgaming
      @Heraldofgaming 6 лет назад

      I personally prefer to shoot in RAW because there is so much data that RAW retains, but if I had to choose between JPEG and HEVC, I would hands down pick JPEG, because mostly the compression that JPEG does, while much more than RAW, is much less than HEVC. Compression of an image results in lost image data. I feel most photographers favor JPEG, at least until HEVC becomes much more widely supported. As it is, most of the photo editing applications, the most prominent being Lightroom, rely heavily upon JPEG as a image file format. HEVC has only several applications for specific editing, such as Pixelmator. Photo uploads tend to more heavily favor JPEGs as well. So it’s more of a “when will HEVC really take off and start to replace JPEG?”
      As for the answer to your question, I believe the compression HEVC does, compared to JPEG and even to RAW, result in a loss of image data that could or could not be for the worst. However, with more fine-tuning, HEVC could continue to improve to be even better than JPEG.

    For consistency the Note 9 was the best. The Iphone X on portrait mode was not too bad, not impressed otherwise. Except for the low light portrait mode the Oneplus 6 was second to the Note 9. Which isn't bad for a $500+ camera/phone. I will be picking up a 6T when it goes on discount later in 2019. Why because of the price and the 6T is good enough.

    Is it just me or it seems like de OnePlus 6 is applying a lot of noise reduction? Looks a bit unnatural to me, and I kinda like noise in low light. Note 9 seems better than iPhone X, but then again it's just out and we should wait what the next iPhone will do in these tests when it comes out in a couple of weeks or so. Aaand... I loved my iPhone 4S. the best looking iPhone Apple has ever made, I'd say. It was just perfect. And the camera wasn't that bad after all, even at 8MP.

    Seriously the Pixel 2xl , one plus 6 and note 9 are way ahead of their time when it comes to low light photography.
