Yes, it was certainly a Wet Muddy place today.. but I am stoked I FiNALLY got down to the Track. It is AWESOME! Everyone there was super friendly.. and just out to have a good time racing with friends. The two races featured are not ACTUAL Races - rather Qualifying laps for the upcoming Main - but none-the-less, still REALLY COOL to see the Immense Air and Speed these rigs were getting!
Truggies and Buggies Flying down the track at insane Speed! Nitro Engines have a very unique and fantastic sound - while the Buggies were quick to make me remember the brute strength of a well made electric Motor and ESC setup. The mission of the Radio Control Gas & Electric Auto Racers Society of Calgary (RCGears) is to provide knowledge, support and a safe environment to the radio control community and general public. RCGears fosters a learning environment and knowledge base by working with all ages groups and genders to promote the Radio Control hobby.
Whether you are looking into the hobby, interested in information watching or a season veteran RCGears has the information and classes you desire.
The most popular classes are:
1/8 nitro buggy
1/8 nitro truggy
1/8 electric buggy
4×4 short course trucks
2wd short course trucks
During the summer months, approx. May to September depending on the weather, regular club racing is held every Saturday. Registration is from 9:00 -- 9:30 am followed by a breif drivers meeting, qualifying heats and mains.
There is electric only racing on Wednesday evenings with registration starting at 5:00pm.
The track is also open during the week for practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm until sunset.

Carl all of the big name companies make excellent truggies. I've owned just about every brand of buggy and truggy and all are great platforms. I've always been kinda partial to Losi as I keep coming back to them. Most every brand will have one or two good and bad traits. Mugen is known for being a tad heavy and having weak front arms. Losi is light and performs excellent but used to wear quicker than most. Kyosho is the most expensive..etc... I say pick a brand that your local track and hobby shop supports well so you will have parts and good support. Most of all just have fun.

+Vizenz121 You are right Mugen has gotten lighter since the mbx7 came out. it's a great buggy that i was decently fast with just I was a lil faster with the Teknos and losis. I even tried an sworkz from amain and that was pretty good too.
Teknoforlife MBX6 is pretty light too? I think the 7's and 6's are pretty light and close in weight but the 5's and older were real heavy...? But the Tekno's I know for sure are like a feather weight for 1/8 scale, because when I see one drive at my local track they can get out of hand if you're not on them. Tekno's go hard though. I think the Kyosho and Mugen are a little nicer and the finishes, but Tekno is still reallly good. The Losi though seems behind the times in handling sophistication and the quality doesn't seem to be near the Tekno. The Tekno's got to be the most sprightly 1/8 car out there though.
All that peat moss on our lovely clay track. Mother Nature is a cruel broad.

medic< i have a question i think my motor has way to much torque what do you think. it can pull a 25 lb weight from a dead stop and when i give it throttle when im crawling it has an insane amount of torque roll.

great filming and also very exited for when my nitro truck runs will do videos of the bashing of the truck this video has made me more happy for when my big nitro rc runs will have to be a defo sub for more great rc videos
It's on the corner of metis trail and 80th ave ne. Practice is on tuesdays and thursdays from 6pm-sundown, club races are on saturday from 8:30am-finish. rcgears.net for more info.

lol funny how the nitro cars cant reverse :) and the electric you can easily see has much more torque on the that straight away :) great vid loved it
@riley klassen they do that so instead of all 10 or so cars going into the corner and wrecking they can have a clean start and race
RCNightmare has a couple videos about LiPo's, balancing and charging as well as other batteries. I think Medic does too but they were made VERY long ago. Check his videos.
If you want to get into this kind of racing what is a good truggy to start out with? Btw great big medic!

hey dude will u do a video about lipo batterys and chargers I don't under stand how to charge them or how to put them in the car all I know is that they can blow up if not used right

Man I wish I had a track like that near me.
I fabricated my own RC dune buggy out of leftover servo motors, RC circuite boards and scrap aluminum. for a grand total of $0.00. It works just as good as a $130 retail model.

I never raced on a track as I'm a backyard basher but it looks like a lot of fun to bad we dont have any tracks here in Northern Vermont
however I'm going to albany ny and they have one now what is needed for tires as I know some have certin tires they allow?
and can I run a stock slash 4x4?

NEED HELP! i have a Losi XXX-NT (NOT ADAM DRAKE EDIT.) Has the side pipe and my Mach .15 engine blew, im looking for a new motor that bolts on and is ready to go w/o doing any extra work, i've been looking online and i havent found any NEW Mach .15's or any motor that seems to fit the motor mounts on the truck, Getting a new stadium truck or buggy / truggy is out of the question as they cost too much.

Some of the diffs are really noisy! I only race 2wd, but the 4wd at my track arent that loud. Maybe a bigger scake or something?

Medic, you do good videos and all but I want to see some more creative videos like your scale videos or maybe some hardcore bashing! It's seems lately your videos have gotten a little stale with just watching RC's going around a track. Maybe some music or something would help. Idk, just throwing out some suggestions.
