I used to really love MGH's career mode vids, and I do still watch but I feel the contents gone a bit stale, always starts with an Arsenal career that I never really enjoy and then after that it's a middle ground club or an RTG in whichever order, and they always start out promising, with an air of realism and excitement, but then by season 2 he just stacks his team with 16-22 year old future stars with high potential, and by the time it's season 5+ almost all the team are 90 rated. He said he was going for realism in this career and trusting in existing youth, and then he's kept McKennie who realistically isn't at Schalke next season, and he's replaced Thiaw with the young lad from Zagreb who's got bags of pace and potential when it would have been more realistic to retrain Kolasinac there and play Mendyl or sign a new LB... I'll probably continue watching this series, but not as avidly or excitedly as I have in the past
You need to give your players proper training plans and change them up accordingly. Growth is hella slow on "balanced". I am at the end of my third season and Bozdogan is 83, so is Boujellab, Mercan is 82, Thiaw 79, Calhanoglu 86 (I loaned him out once), Kutucu on 87, Serdar on 89, Harit on 89... And so on. You need to nourish and care for your young 'uns. Btw.: Not a fan of Horn. Not at all. But oh well. :) Oh, and keep McKennie. The loan to buy spell to Juventus was a mental decision by the really incapable managemant of S04 right now. And one more thing: When you buy players there is always a chance for them to lose, increase or stay on their potential. Gvardiol was a "lose potential" buy unfortunately. Realism is a bit gutted by McKennie and Gvardiol, but it is how it is. It just should not get much more unrealistic. Really try to develop players properly. That means you need to check their stats regularly and train them specifically. And players who don't play or are called up at the end of the seaon, will have a massive drop in their potential as well. Fifa 21 career mode with youth players is a min max thing that needs a somewhat meticulous execution.
Bring in Smith Rowe, a lot of.young English players have gone to Germany for game time and ESR wasn't used a lot during your arsenal career and he is doing so well in real life

You can put McKennie as a CB, I did on my Juve CM, and he is pretty good, and will boost ur defense a lot Edit: I do agree with people saying to sell McKennie, but I keep my suggestion as well, he is a good CDM, even better CB, but not a good CM if you like CMs that move foward

Why dont just sell all the old players you dont even care to use or only use once in a while? That "he is belived in the club" thing is just a way to hve angry players in the bench, you use them 2 games to justify not selling them and then forget about them forever. Just go for the players you want to buy using the money from Nastacic and the others you dont want.
I don't mind whether you keep or sell Mckennie but please don't forget about the players you've made us like already like Thiaw and Bozdogan, put them on certain development plans x

Just sign the youth academy players to your first team and loan them out straight away. You will complete the objectives and they’ll still get first team opportunities.
Would like if you focus more on signing german players, or players that already play in the german leagues. For example guys like Felix Uduokhai, Orel Mangala, Robin Hack, Amos Pieper, Felix Krüger or Jamie Leweling. All of them are very exciting and it seems very realistic for Schalke to go after them. Especially Robin Hack since he plays for Nürnberg, a club that has a friend friendship with Schalke. Moreover I think you should at least negotiate if you get offers for your good players like CDK, since Schalke is known to sell/lose their best players.
You should’ve traded nastasic for a fee and one of those Valencia wingers, Alex Baena 69 rated 19 years old, Yeremy 69 rated 18 years old, Hassan 67 rated 19 years old. Could’ve been really interesting player growth and a hidden gem, also someone to let you loan out MaTondo and rotate Van Acker.
