Initial D is a Big anime but it is so much fun and it will get you hyped all the way. I think you should definietly check it out one day! Also I recommend the Osts Running in the 90's, To the Top, Forever Young, Killing My Love Can't wait for your reactions❤
YES YES YEEEEEES!!!! MAAAAAN Initial D is literally one of the MOST legendary OSTs ever made. Deja Vu, Gas Gas Gas, and no doubt the most meme'd song ever made: Running in the 90's
this genre is called Eurobeat (or more specifically J-Euro) and for some reason I've only ever seen it linked to cars and racing. I have no idea why it is like this but I love it.
There are two pretty distinct "subgenres" of Eurobeat. The first is the macho Initial D-type stuff, which usually contain lyrics about cars, explosion, and banging women. Then there's the para para-type stuff they used to play in clubs, which is usually a bit more upbeat and contains lyrics about dancing, energy, and banging men (stuff like This is Parapara by Live Music Gang, Velfarre 2000, or anything by Domino). The car stuff is usually exclusive to the former.
~2 Weeks ago we (a few friends and I) were at a friends house. One of us drove me and 3 others home (only he is allowed to drive without his parents in the car, because the rest are under 18). The other 3 were drunk. (I don't drink, and the driver of course also didn't drink that day). It really is fun to put on songs like "GAS GAS GAS", "Kübelwagen GTI", "Preußens Gloria" and "Primo Victoria" while driving through rural Germany at 3 a.m. 👍
3:56 the lyrics for this part is “don’t be lazy ‘cause I’m burning for you It’s like a hot sensation Got this power that is taking me out Yes, I’ve got a crush on you, ready, now, ready, go”
While Dejavu is definitely the more memes of the two, Gas Gas Gas has made its way around the meme circuit too. Both are still bangers in the goofiest way possible.
Initial D - The Top. is 1 of my favorites. Also I use the entire soundtrack for my weekly workouts. So initial D music is legit the most music I've heard on repeat in my life.
Beat of the RIsing Sun When The Sun goes Down The Top Night of Fire Back on the Rocks Forever Young Don't Stop the Music So many good Eurobeat songs out there to have on while ignoring traffic rules :D Edit: fat fingers
Guys we need to drag him deeper into the hole called "Eurobeat". Once i knew it only from the meme songs, then i got introduced to Touhou Eurobeat (SOUNDHOLIC, Nana Takahashi), TURBO, Vikas Music. Hope this genre grows over time too.
Fun fact, Initial D won the Japan Gold Disc Award for Anime Album of the Year in 2000 and 2001. The Japan Gold Disc Award is a music award based on sales/copies sold so essentially Initial D won top selling anime album in those years.
Manuel unfortunately passed away on August 25th of this year, which is even sadder because earlier on in the year he had announced that he wanted to make a return to the Eurobeat scene. He was only 40 too, rest in peace to a legend.
I wouldn't say Initial D is the racing anime "to start with" but THE racing anime. It's sooooo good, legendary! even if the last season wasn't the best and the plot armor around the MC got a bit ridiculous, but definitely is a MUST watch!
I agree with all of these, but I'd personally add Heartbeat too, I feel that song is always overlooked despite it being the theme that plays the first time a certain maneuver is used in the anime :P
PLEASE DO US ALL A FAVOR AND START WATCHING INITIAL D ITS SOO GOOOD!! PS:Yes, you would absolutely love the anime, its one of the biggest animes out there- its about 80 episodes,so not long, but the story is veery good, and if you are a beginner it starts from the very foundation of everything anyone should know about cars and builds from there. Its one of my personal faves so yeah, definetly atleast check it out!!
The anime has its uh Lower quality moments For sure. The side character designs are awkward at times, and its not like the story is groundbreaking or anything, its a classic coming-of-age story for teenagers. But its definitely worth watching. The hype is there for a reason, the racing scenes are incredible and the stuff they talk about in the show is realistic, or at least an anime version of real life racing principles, and the soundtrack will have you headbang yourself to a god damn concussion
@@simplyskrypt3914 Its realistic, not just anime realistic, but really accurate. Race drivers could learn a few things about driving from the anime kind of realistic. The original mangaka Shuichi Shigeno actually is a car enthusiast and drives the mountain passes at night. The anime then builds upon that with having Keiichi Tsuchiya as a consultant, per haps japans most famous (in japan) race driver. He's named Dori dori, or dori-kun and it translates to drift king. You can search him here on youtube to see some of his racing hes literally insane.
Idk, can't remember the season episode numbers. What I find weird (at least through Crunchyroll) is season 1 & 2 are episodic, then 3, 3.5, & 4 are like 2 hour movies, and then it's back to short episodes again. It's weird
Was not expecting you to listen to any sort of eurobeat, but I am extremely happy about this. If it wasn't already obvious eurobeat is my favorite music genre... It goes so well with anything intense or just high octane in general! Anyhow, enough fanboying. You definitely gotta keep listening to more eurobeat songs. Also you should definitely consider reacting to the Initial D openings If you are at all interested. Here are some of my "gateway" song recommendations to get you to enjoy the music genre more: - Golden Age by Max Coveri - Chemical love by Kevin & Cherry - Speed of light by The Snake - The Top by Ken Blast - Heart's On Fire by David Dima - Killing my love by Leslie Parrish - Back on the rocks by MEGA NRG MAN
I always get so much wholesome vibes from your channel, great video. Initial D is an anime I would definetely put in the animes I really enjoyed, though it is in a weird category where it's mostly cool and epic but the plot is not anything truly special (I do not mean it's bad, far from it). However it for sure is an enjoyable watch and an anime that had a huge influence at the time
so eurobeat is originally a genre that came from italy, all of theeurobeat songs are kind of similar in a sense, and then somewhere round the 90's it caught on in japan as wel
yeah, this one, Deja Vu and Spitfire really are a great banger to put on while driving. And yes, this is a beginner for a racing anime, I not sure how long to give it since its separate by stages. Not sure if you would enjoy it but even a non car guy like me did like it a bit. Also I would recommend you might as well react to the JP version of the Initial D ending song(Rage Your Dream), it's one of my favorite songs
Ooh. I love your reaction. I would recommend The Top by Ken Blast, but theres a lot more to listen to. From someone who loves this music, welcome to the Eurobeat community
Initial D is beyond its soundtrack and its memes, it's a genuinely amazing anime about Japanese mountain street racing and culture. The main character is actually loosely inspired off of a real person, Keiichi Tsuchiya, and he actually was consulted by the original manga creator and later the anime staff. i It's one of my favorite anime, and the main reason one of my dream cars is the Mazda RX-7.
Other good OSTs you need to listen to is "I need your love", "Dancing", "Speedy speed boy" , "Dogfight", "Don't stop the music", "No One Sleep In Tokyo", Night of fire" and "Wings of fire"!
Eurobeat fans submitted our top 10 picks to Best of Beats Online last year for the 2023 ranking and Gas Gas Gas by Manuel took the #1 spot. I think Manuel Caramori’s unexpected death might have boosted because fans probably wanted to hear his songs and this is one of his best. In recent years he had been working as an entertainer on cruise ships and he was planning to come back to Eurobeat. He was only 40
My second favorite racing anime OST so good every song a banger Funny how there are eras where different songs are the favorite of the internet. We are currently in the gas gas gas era where that is the most favorite, it used to be Deja Vu and for the early internet it used to be Running in the 90s.
Since you mention metal singers, Fabio Lione (was the lead singer of Rhapsody of Fire), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth) and Terence Holler (was the lead singer of Eldritch) all sang eurobeat songs like this one. Also, I do know of Helloween, were you thinking of Michael Kiske, Andi Deris, or Kai Hansen? As far as anime intros, both for Gundam Wing (Just Communication and Rhythm Emotion), and Konya wa Hurricane from Bubblegum Crisis.
Oh man...Initial D was the first anime I dove headfirst into in the early 2000s. The soundtrack got its hooks in me which lead to my discovery of the rabbit hole that is Eurobeat, which I still jam to 20 years later. There is SO much Initial D music that I would suggest sticking to the albums named D Selection 1-3. There are so many mixes and remixes of these songs that I figured you should stick to the ones with full tracks to start. The names to know, off the top of my head, are Dave Rodgers, Lou Grant, Go Go Girls, Jenny Rom, Mega NRG Man... I could go on, but they're pretty much all bangers.
My favorite Initial D Soundtracks are "Mad Desire", "The Top", "Night of Fire", "Beat of the rising Sun" and "Get me Power" . The most popular songs are Gas Gas Gas, Running in the 90s and Deja vu
While I personally have not seen Initial D anime I enjoy the hell out of the soundtrack while driving around! Loved the reaction, would love to see more of the Initial D songs!
This is actually a genre called Eurobeat. It's basically hyper disco. It's origins is in Italo-disco I believe. Eurobeat has been around since the 80s. TBH, I don't care about Initial D or other sports themed anime, and I wish people would respect this genre more as it's own thing. Eurobeat songs I've been listening to lately: * Daniel - Spirit Of The Night * Nuage - Don't Wanna Lose You Baby * Nuage - Crazy Little Love * Maio & Co. - Flash in the SKy * Eurofunk - Dj is Playing my Song * Mark Foster - Kiss me Divine
If you aren't blasting the Initial D soundtrack on your nightly mountain road touge session, what are you doing with your life? Also welcome to Eurobeat, we have cars sliding sideways at ludicrous speeds.
i love so many eurobeats, i cant choose a favorite one, but i love sun in the rain, city rider city lover, get it all right, burning like a flame, passion in the night, music in my head, night trip, black u.f.o., i wont fall apart, there is so many, and of course all the first stage eurobeats
i havent found anyone who mentioned it but one of the reasons you had a game feeling is because there are arcade games made around the franchise and all the courses if i recall correctly are real roads in japan
Playing Deja Vu & Gas3 on the radio while driving is actually kinda dangerous cuz the song electrifies you into driving faster & more dangerously. It activates the racers mentally that is innate in any car lover
I LOVE Initial D. The arcade in the mall near me used to have the arcade machine in it back in early 2000s, I probably dumped at least $100 if not more on it alone. I know it would never get through a poll with any modern anime on it. But I still think you should do some retro reactions to older anime, and Initial D should be one of the first ones you do

Dont be deceived by other , it's an anime about food delivery!!!
Forever Young!
can't wait for "running in the 90" and "deja vu"
Playing Deja Vu & Gas3 on the radio while driving is actually kinda dangerous cuz the song electrifies you into driving faster & more dangerously. It activates the racers mentally that is innate in any car lover
Gas gas gas
I would hand over my entire Eurobeat playlist for when I'm driving. We're talking a three digit amount
