I love this song! Its my freshmen year of High School, and iv been playing Alto Sax for about 4 years and due to lake of oboes i was chosen to play oboe for this song. In 5 days i was able to pick of on the oboe enough to play the solo in the beginning and i must say it was the hard thing i probably ever did in my life.
we played this my junior year. By far my favorite symphonic piece. Best part (aside from the percussion solos that I got to play) is when the low brass hums. I loved that.
I know this is a long shot, but would you happen to remember what the title of your solo was? I've been looking for that piece forever, but don't know what it's called
Very nice performance... we are playing this song at our next concert... and i can tell this is also a unique performance. It seems to me that you added accents.... or maybe emphasized them more than a normal band would... but out of all the times i listened to this song, i never quite heard it played like that. Good job.
OK this is beyond weird! I randomly remembered LOVING playing this song in high school band way back in '06-'08, so I looked it up here on RUclips and found this video. Scrolling through the comments and see yours. The weird part you ask? I went to North Mason also! Class of '08! 😂 And also play the sax, but I play Bari. Small world friend. 🎷
the image is delayed because as bands play, especially in a big auditorium like that, their sound projects a couple seconds later to the audience, especially if you're in the back.
@dbass90 I played this song in my school band~ and i have the composer score...the tempo is ok. ^^ Cuz i got that song, played by tokyo kosei. Thanks for uploading, it's nice!
It looks fake because the image is delayed (I don't know why. It may be a problem during the conversion to mpeg4), but the tempo is real. Anyway, this is one of the best spanish bands.
A local high school in Hawaii played this piece this past district festival, and it was quite remarkable (the piece I mean). I wish our director exposed us to more must like this, outside of schmultzy James Swearingen stuff.
dude... even the guy that posted this video said that the picture looks fake because it has a delay... so no, i'm not having a problem "streaming" this clip.
I couldn't agree with you much more. This band is a truly good band, but in technical stuff. In terms of emotion and such, they couldn't bring that across. But than again, they do receive credit for their awesome skills tho! (:
good times. i remember playing this with my band in high school. i loved this piece. ^-^

My band's playing this for competition...It was a homework assignment for me to listen to it....
Magestic score!
We did this song for audition music for flute. I would have never figured out how to play it until I finally found where it starts: 1:05

@Littlebocco
Bassoons ARE amazing. I'm also in the band :p Nice to meet ya.
Hell yeah bassoon!!!!
One of the rare times where the oboe doesn't sound like a chicken caught in a vaccuum cleaner. Beautiful!
@daltonplaysthesax The alto sax solo on this song is so cool.
i have one of the alto sax solos in my high school band. North Mason High School

The oboe part is really helping me learn this for my band to play but I could never play it that fast.

Love the sax solo, I was the only one who could play it out of 4 altos. :/

I Like the oboe solo

Rock on Jupiter Middle School band for tackling this song!
It probably bugs me more than it should that the audio and video don't match up and I can't follow the conductor... Haha
@dbass90 it's true. I played it and it was so fast and difficult

I played this my freshman year for festival and we got straight ones. We used a chain in the beginning though... I liked it...
We also used chains in my high school band. It sounded awesome. This will always be one of my favorite songs we ever played.
Im playing this and am in concert band =P maybe 9th grade?
aww man no irish whistles at 4:12
テンポ速!
what do you mean? I'm afraid you're wrong. The video was uploaded as it is. No speeding.
the oboe player is the godfather
@matt15648 its on itunes
thumbs up if your playing this in the Florida all-state band.
@nairdaoneub la banda viene en la descripcción del vídeo
速ぇよw
My band is, too. We play tomorrow. I'm the lead trumpet player.
That Oboe solo was too fast.
dude... even the guy that posted this video said that the picture looks fake because it has a delay...
so no, i'm not having a problem "streaming" this clip.
@goband182 "[...]Somebody sped this son[..]"
i love all the drum solos
but it hurts my ears when i play the song at school... i sit right in front of the percussion...
Pretty
@dbass90 es una banda española? cual es??
saludos!

At my school I mean...
なにこれw音軽すぎワロタwカオス~~~~w
やっぱりそだ
日本人のがやるアイルランドより
他国の人がやるアイルランドのほうが音楽性があるよね
I actually don't they played this all that well. No emotion to it. it's SO exact to the page, but that doesn't make it good.
