How one man can make a mundane morning event entertaining is a testament to his talent. Really sucks living in a world without him but I sure am glad I lived my early years with him. Rest In Peace.
Loved watching Regis & Katie Lee in the morning. What a terrible loss. There is no one like him. Thank you, Mr. Philbin, you will be terribly missed. Condolences to the Philbin family.
TealCircle Of course, but now it is final. No more Late Night appearances, no chance of a reunion on Live. We will miss knowing that the calm, father-like presence and subtle humor of Regis Philbin. He was on TV a lot between the 1990s and early 2010s; many feel like they grew up with him. While almost nobody on here knew the man personally, we feel like we did. That’s what we will miss.
@@rebeccaboch1552 AMEN! I R.I.P. and thanks for the memories. I literally grew up with him. I started watching when it was "The Morning Show." (The local show before it was national.) I stopped watching when Kathie Lee left. It just wasn't the same. Soooo glad they reunited on the "Today Show".
Always loved your show with Kathy. Regis, you were the last of the greats from the Greatest generation God Speed. I can imagine the comedy team between you , Carson and all those greats! Keep them all on their toes ,Reg ...we love you!
So the day I started loving Regis and Kathy was when I had to miss school to go to the dentist. I was petrified!! They called my name as it was my turn seriously felt as though I was going to the electric chair. I was sitting in the dentist chair and luckily they had a tv for you to watch while you are waiting for the dentist to come see you. I remember Regis and Kathy was on and they were so funny they brought me joy and comfort. Thanks for the Dentist for having tvs for their patients, I think all Dentist offices should do that. But thank you Regis and thank you Kathy for making me feel good!!!!!!!
An anchorman which everyone can look up to. A true professional. Truly made us all laught. R.I.P. great person. And condolences to the family. He shall be missed.
It’s sad how Regis passed. I also loved Regis Phillbin He was so funny, entertaining, and such an amazing man to watch on TV ofc. I remember this show ‘cause my mom and older sister would watch Live Regis and Kathie Lee. I was born in the year 2002, and my sister was born in the year ‘91. Ik about Regis, because I would also watch Live with Regis and Kelly with my mom when I was little, and I loved watching that. He was such an icon to all. His legacy and memory will live on forever ♾❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙 R.I.P to Mr. Regis Phillbin Gone but Never Forgotten 😊😊😊🤟🤟🤟
I have loved Regis since I was 22 yrs old, almost 20 years... I think it's a testament to how awesome Regis is that he could entertain such different age ranges... rest in peace Regis! We love you!
Kathie Lee had the makings of a natural comedienne. She likes to think of jokes and punchlines that put a humorous twist on things. She could easily have nurtured that talent and become a great comedienne or comedic actress.
I missed Kathie Lee when she left & I felt no one could fill her void, but then Kelly Ripa came & the partnership was a smart match. :) With that said, I always had a longing for Kathie Lee🌸 I was also shocked when Regis left, never saw it coming, rip.🕊️ My condolences to his family, friends & fans💐🕊️🕯️
Never realized how fast Regis talks, and how fast he goes from one thing to the next. Trying to keep up. Lol. He really is such a sweet guy! What a great morning show, watched for years and years growing up with my Momma in the mornings, but as I’m typing this I’m listening to him in the background and I’m he’s talking so fast I’m like, “Woah.” I think he must have been a morning coffee drinker and had more than two cups before the show began, by the time he got out there his mouth went a mile a minute. I notice Katie Lee can barely keep up either, she hardly gets a word in edge wise, but by the later seasons she actually talked a lot so it evened out. Hahaha. 😂
The fact that they premiered the national show on Labor Day was brilliant. What better day to debut than a holiday morning when people that have the day off work are either home or haven't yet ventured out to do whatever they had planned for the day. More viewers than the following day (Tuesday) when folks go back to their regular routine. Smart programming!!
Bless you for sharing this! What a treat to watch! XOXOXO! If you have more to share, please do. Hell, I'll buy a DVD compilation of all the episodes you've got, haha.
From a production standpoint, this TV show is unique for the lack of cutaway shots during the first segment, where it was just limited to the astrologer and just one for the audience; where the camera stayed fixed on Regis and Kathie Lee for the majority of the segment.
I watched them from the beginning in Philadelphia. They were on our cbs affiliate first but then it didn’t air one day. I was so depressed but then it started to air on the abc affiliate on Channel 6 (Disney/Cap Cities) where it’s been airing ever since. RIP Regis!!!!
Watched it from about day one. I remember him having Ashley the Persian cat. Kathie and Regis talking in the monologue about the "winds of war"joy's sister. "when do we eat"Joy's mother. The love machine Frank. Mrs. Green Thumbs, Claudia Cohen. Art moore, Gelman, Gelman's mother rhoda. Regis and Kathie Lee were like family.
I remember watching this show when it was a New York show only.. my friend and I went to NYC and her grandmother loved Regis but happened to be a good friend of Frank Gifford's ex-wife so she was saying all these catty things about KLG! 😂 But KLG outlasted them all!
Ah my childhood . And it was kinda weird how the psychic predicted Kathy Lee having more problems than Regis on the show. Fast forward like ten years to the sweat shop scandal. I still remember her tearful angry refusal that she had anything to do with it. Idk I believed her. This was one helluva show. Never watched it when it wasn’t them anymore .
I really loved Regis and no one can compare even though Kelly Ripa ttried manyCohosts. Finally she settled on Ryan Seacrest who is okay and I’ve gjotten used to him now even though he can’t top Regis as a cohost. He tries his best and is very congenial but no one can top Regis Philbin! Just my opinion. For what it’s worth. I taught 8th grade English for 22years and am now retired so I can watch what was the Regis and Kelly show. I love it and try not to muu Miss it. I watch it with m m y first cup of coffee! It makes VM m e BBC smile like a -----. I never could get that last word so I leave it out-sorry. Maybe whoever reads this comment will know that last word. I have no idea. But this “ comment” has gone on too long and I apologize for this. Have a great day and as Kelly Clarkson always says at the end of her show “ and if it( special) change it!”
I guess when we think of great comedy duos or comedy teams like George and Gracie or Abbot and Costello . Martin and Lewis and others we can now include Regis and Kathie Lee in that list.
RIP Regis. Thanks for the good times. The 80s. When people still dressed and kept up appearances. Miss those days.
How one man can make a mundane morning event entertaining is a testament to his talent. Really sucks living in a world without him but I sure am glad I lived my early years with him. Rest In Peace.
Exactly. Regis was the BEST.

Rest in Peace Mr. Regis King of Witty remarks 🙏😌💞🎉🎊🇺🇸
LOVED them together! I never missed this in the mornings. I do watch Kelly and Ryan. They are fun, but I still miss Regis and Kathie Lee.
Watching Live with Regis and Kathie Lee was my childhood days especially in the mornings during the summer when I wasn’t in school.
Great show! The best morning talk show of all time. Started at the end of our greatest decade too

This was the best show to spend your morning with & first cup of coffee! ☮💜❤
This is a great upload ❤️. On a deep dive of Regis videos, loved him so much. May he RIP.
RIP Regis! ❤️
First national show in 88. Passed away at 88. Ironic.
More like coincidental.
great observation !
That's not what irony means.
RIP REGIS
I loved you guys together so much! Always watched! Love you REGIS !
This is fantastic. In Pittsburgh, WTAE, our ABC affiliate, has aired the show at 9 a.m. on weekdays since the show went national nearly 35 years ago!
I was so used to Regis on TV as well as his voice...
Good memories. Wish we could go back to those simpler times.
RIP Regis there will never be another
What a classy gentleman Regis was. R.I.P

I will always love you, Regis. Rest in peace.
When I hear the intro theme music to this,I feel like I'm hearing the The Partridge Family Theme,"Come On Get Happy"
I have loved Regis since I was 22 yrs old, almost 20 years... I think it's a testament to how awesome Regis is that he could entertain such different age ranges... rest in peace Regis! We love you!
I miss this show!! It was so real. Genuine laughs.

Least funny person maybe ever
Kelly Ripa and Seacrest can’t hold a candle to these 2
I couldn’t stand this kind of morning show back then. Nowadays I long for it.
This is a marvelous treat! And the video quality is superb!
Regis voice sounds like from the 50's era in an old classic movie. 😂 I always loved how people back then talk. 😊
I used to watch this show a lot.
I'm gonna miss that man.
This was the show that replaced “The Morning Show”, but this was a rebranded show that went national in 1988.

Never will forget the 1st time I saw them was on Christmas morning 1988. Didn't know who they were but thought they were great!
RIP Reeg. Hope to meet you on the other side one day long time from now with the other greats.
RIP Regis🥺
That computer! LOL. We will miss our Reg. ❤
I will miss him...RIP. Regis...
Who Wants to be a Millionaire!?
You will be missed, RIP!
Rip Regis! Thanks for all the laughs.
Hard to believe Regis is 57 years-old in this video. He looks like he's in his early 40s. RIP Regis Philbin!
He can make the simplest thing sound funny.
These two are American pop culture icons. s

33 years later I’m watching this. Sounds like that astrologer was right on
RIP. Regis. You and don rickles. Are. Reunited again. In heaven enjoyed your humor

There souls were connected. They loved each other.
A WONDERFUL MAN.
I was exactly 1 year old when this debuted.
Regis and Kathie Lee ... weekdays are 9am on WABC in NY. My childhood.
Even though this was an eternity ago
It still holds up!
Funny is always iFunny
0:45 Live from New York, it's the premiere of national live with Regis and Kathie Lee!

Starting to think there's something to astrology and numerology. The guy knew kathie wouldn't last as long as regis.
Anyone here because the weird news articles?
R.I.P Regis Philbin
Reege was amazing!

Yeah, the show was never the same without Regis and Kathie Lee. Poor Network management. God bless Joy and their daughters and Kathie Lee.
Monroe did air on region 10 at 9: AM Central
Did he ever bring in the clock and smash it?

Regis Philbin should’ve also been ceo of abc for one year
RIP Regis!
I was born 2 days later
That guy announcing at the beginning has been there forever, too. Not sure of his name.
Tony Pigg
Nas brought me here
That computer looks so old. Lol the funny thing is back then I would never imagine watching this show on my phone. RIP Regis I loved watching you.
They have never replaced those fabulous legs.
Good ol days
REGIS!!!!
Nothing has been the same since then. Which tell me something.
Kathy Lee was fine as hell
