      @enrixosjjdjd187 Firstly, trotsky was not a likely candidate to succeed lenin. Even if he was, lenin gave stalin a massive position of power on purpose, because he seemed to trust stalin. Stalin was actually the person who visited lenin the most in his sickness. Rykov or Bukharin were more likely candidates to replace lenin than trotsky was.

      @@8-bitstream379 lenin didnt trust stalin in the slightest, thats why he actually wasnt given any real position of power, its more how stalin used his position as secretary to manipulate soviet politics which later gave him the ability to rise to power
      you are right though, immediately following lenin's death, stalin did everything in his power to prevent trotsky from ascending to power, and likely lost his chance within the first year or two, and rykov, bukharin, zinoviev, kirov among others were more likely candidates later in soviet history

      I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have significantly impacted the overwhelming success of Barbarossa, as most of northern Spain borders Vichy France, and the natural barrier of the Pyrenees would have prevented any serious invasion attempts. @@DieHeiligeSchüssel thanks man, my history class went over the first world war and the main reasons why it capitulated and personally this fixes most of them, yes the spanish flu shall still happen and the other central powers are still as weak, but there'll be almost no food shortages, which means less civil unrest. Plus i'm sure that the war will end sooner this way, as with both Austrian and German focus on Russia, Russia will fall faster, which means that the experienced troops of the eastern front are earlier at the western front, where the entente didn't get as experienced, seeing as the German troops don't attack and just hold their positions. This ends the war quicker thus hopefully preventing the devastating effect on morale that was the American intervention.

    1:45 An important point of reference, Western divisions were (and still are) larger than Russian Divisions. US Divisions for example had ~14,000 men, where as their Russian counterparts had 10,000. Meaning if you look at actual fielded manpower, the difference isn't that large.

    • @simonnachreiner8380

      The west also has studied logistics for decades and has refined the transport of Men, Material, and Munitions down to a science. If the Invasion of Ukraine is anything to go by logistics is still not and will never be a strong point for the Russian Military.

    • @jpc347
      @jpc347 5 часов назад +3

      Also don't forget that this is nominal strength, not actual. The Soviets had been fighting heavily on the Eastern Front for four years by this point and few divisions were actually at their nominal strength. That and the Soviets heavily relied on the US for logistical equipment.

    The issue with numbers is that while the Soviets had more divisions, after the grind of pushing to Berlin, the Soviet army division strength were about half strength. In addition, the Soviets were in a similar situation to the Germans supply wise and were in hostile territory compared to the Allies, especially in Poland.

    • @simonnachreiner8380
      @simonnachreiner8380 11 часов назад

      Exactly! If the people of the occupied states of Poland, Germany, the Baltics, a good portion of the former Balkan axis, and the defeated but unbroken Ukrainians learned that the allies were pushing to actually liberate them (Not the phony totally not imperialistic "under new management" that the commies brought) they would've lit the logistics of their homelands on fire if not partaken in outright revolution. The Soviets took to a policy of loot, grape, and plunder whenever they exhausted their supply lines and the occupied territories _hated_ them for it they just couldn't do anything about it.
      There's a propaganda story from the winter war about an old lady living in a cabin in Rural Finland who was notified by some soldiers that the Reds were coming and they needed to destroy her Cabin to deny the enemy shelter. She took a broom, swept the floors and sat in her chair one last time before going to the hearth and started the blaze herself.
      Imagine that, but over the entire former eastern front. Hell considering that the Muslim majority Turkic regions also had their religion suppressed by the soviets they might also rise up in a holy war at the same time too.

    Yes the Romanov sisters are assassinated in July and the intervention starts in August, so either move the intervention forward a couple of months or have the Czechoslovak Legion rescue one of the sisters and bring her to the Japanese.
    Either way, Japan should remain in Siberia after October 1922, with enough legitimacy so that America doesn't embargo Japan or force Japan's withdrawal
    Finally, Japan should be able to pay for the “reclamation” of its territory from the Reds with Siberian gold/iron/gems/fur.
    Alternatively, Alexieve survives and is made a puppet ruler to justify Japan's ongoing presence after the withdrawal of the other intervention forces.

    One point of note for the video: Allied and Soviet divisions were not equal in terms of size. A standard Soviet rifle division had about 9500 troops in it at full nominal strength while the average American division was 15,000 men strong. So while the Soviets may have had a 2x nominal divisional strength advantage in the European theatre the actual manpower difference was much less. Then there's the fact that this is nominal strength that we're talking about with many of those Soviet divisions being battered and bruised from many years of intense fighting in Europe. The advantage was still on the Soviets side but the skew was nowhere near as heavy as this video implies.

    The allies were going to bomb Baku after the winter war began. Fast forward to a year and a half later and the Brit’s and Soviets are invading Iran together. History is wild man

    One thing to consider, if the western allies fought Russia offensively or defensively Russian logistic support from the west would be cut off, and the US likely WOULD have used nukes prolifically.

    Like what if the Germans had chosen to wait to prepare for longer or something or how could the soviets have been more prepared

    Its crazy that my great grandfather was actually supposed to invade Japan and was on his way there when the atom bombs were dropped and they surrendered before he got there. So the atom bomb might've saved his life.

      @@WaterZer0 China back then in the eyes of the UN meant Nationalist China (KMT) and they were very much in favour of fighting communists. The PRC (Communist China) only get recognised in the 70s iirc.

    I think one of the BIG diferances that would have to change is the american atituid towards Lend Leace.
    Britan would not have continued the artic convoys after the revolution, and it would have tryed to force the same conditions for lend lease onto the sovet's. Blocking the americans from full aide towards the sovet union most probly by demanding the same conditions.
    With Far less Chemiocals for HE rounds and worse logistics the soviets would be hard pressed to keep there heavy armour equiped and the infantey suplyed.
