My cap has a plastic covering on it, when I connected the syringe to the bleed nipple I couldn’t push any fluid through. Should I tear the plastic covering in the brake fluid reservoir? Also what mm tubing fits the nipple? 9mm ID?
@@shahidiqbal1259 make sure the cap is off the brake fluid reservoir to aid with any back pressure issues and keep in mind that you have to turn the plastic bleed nipple on the slave cylinder 90 degrees or so to the left to open it to allow fluid through and then slowly push the fluid in and you should be good, from memory it’s either 6mm or 9mm tube I can’t remember exactly 👍
@ sounds good thanks, did your brake fluid reservoir have a clear plastic sheet below the black cap? Did you remove it? Or was it just open below the black cap.. if that makes sense
@ there should always be like a mesh cup in there to filter the fluid going in but not usually clear plastic, I’d say someone has either put that there in an attempt to make a vacuum or if the cap was leaking perhaps they’ve attempted to use that to seal it
Did mine yesterday with the help of this great vid, couldn't bleed the clutch to save my life and then checked the old master and it had the rubber tip stuck in there. You can't see that it's missing off the pipe cos of the access space. My daughters Fiesta isn't boosted so nothing needs to be removed under the bonnet to access the back of the MC.
Hi m8 I have followed your video and replaced the master cylinder. My question is when you reverse fill will i need to hold the clutch pedal up during this process. The pedal is currently fully down,or does the pedal rise whilst filling.I don't want to push to much pressure in and potentially pop the master cylinder seal many thanks 👍
@@user-en2wo9cb4v pop the pedal back to the top mate and then carry on and reverse bleed, you can do it either way but placing the pedal back to the top just stops having to apply so much force to reset the pedal, although if the pedal is stuck down there is a good chance it’s your slave cylinder that’s at fault so it would be worth checking around the bell housing on the gearbox to see if you can see any visible signs of brake fluid leaking from the area as that will help confirm wether it’s the space cylinder or not so worth checking
I changed my clutch and the pedal was still soft so I bought a master cylinder and before I installed it the clutch pedal went back to normal, so didn't have to fit the master cylinder lol
@@MarkwingDuck83 ideal that you didn’t have to fit it then mate really, sounds like either the clutch itself or the slave cylinder was at fault here then 👍
@@bantumatyeni that’s sucks mate, just know though that whilst it drastically Improved the symptoms on this one it still wanted the slave cylinder changing too as that was also leaking internally, my guess would be from incorrect bleeding practice before as ford insist on reverse bleeding these systems from the slave cylinder back up to the reservoir 👍
That was an absolutely fantastic video thank you very much. Your problem is just like mine hopefully😊
@@peterbailey4984 not a problem at all, that’s all we hope for is that the content helps someone at some point 👍
Just helped me sort a clutch master cyclinder on my connect. 10/10 video.

One thing you must check seal on end of pipe , make sure it hasnt stayed in old master

I have the identical looking car but its the tdci engine. Would this proceedure be the same?
@@deanoscott the overall job should be the same mate yes, they don’t tend to change a lot in the way of interior layout etc
Anyone know of a channel featuring US versions of the Fiesta ST? I don’t think the steering column needs to be dropped on those models.
Great content.
Thank you mate 👍👍
