Bing Crosby in the patriotic Song of Freedom number from "Holiday Inn"(1942)
After Pearl Harbor happened right in the middle of filming, it was decided to extend the Independence Day celebrations in this film and to add the footage of the military to this number to boost GI morale.

Sad the world doesn't cherish freedom as we once did. We have forgotten what freedom cost our ancestors. From the reformation to the 20th century. People struggled, suffered and died so we could have the freedoms that are now being taken away. Very sad. But the bible does say, "if the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed". So despite our freedoms vanishing in our world today there is a freedom each one of us can have despite our surroundings. Something to celebrate and embrace. Freedom will return one day and be better than it ever was. Not because of us, but because of Him.
