kevin mendoza If she didn't do it , she'd have more spectators I think. I don't think making a noise improves your ground strokes. It's about technique and the lag and snap motion.
grunting helps, google it.I don't think Maria cares about gaining more fans cause she already has more than enough. her first two rounds in RG this year were horrible though she won comfortably( If i remember correctly). Monica Seles lost before when she was restricted from grunting.sorry for my english
+kevin mendoza You people need to go out and play tennis instead of judging what works and what doesn't. I found out by trying different techniques. Grunting helps get power out, so does breathing out when hitting a shot.
Her ball toss is a little too high on the serve. With all that time (waiting for it to come down) she can order a pizza for all the ball girls and boys. lol
***** Alright, I'll give you that but the toss is still too high. She needs to shorten the toss and unwind her right arm-motion quicker for a better result. Easier said then done but what the hell.
+Trent Timoy I agree. Yet I think it might be related to something more than mere technique. I remember Edberg saying that the high tossing helped him concentrate. I wonder...
Alexander Bruinen Serio She needs to do something different if she wants to compete with Serena. She had 21 aces against Bencic of Switzerland the other day. That's a fairly high number for her. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Why not? Everything she's tried the past decade against Serena hasn't worked.
Alexander Bruinen Serio No problem. I believe she is working on shortening the toss and accelerating her arm windup faster. At this point she has nothing to lose.
I love her backhand

Awesome masha
Practice makes a man perfect & training makes a man confident.
Wow she makes that "ehhh" noise in practice as well.
Yup.when she practices without her grunts, her ground strokes aren't as powerful.

I agree. I've always wondered if she could improve her movements forward too. :) Thanks for your comment. :)
