I was really hoping to see the reactions of town when patters explained how he held the evil team at gunpoint to turn him into the demon, I thought that would have been funny haha
@@rosalindcormier4384 yeah, like as Patters said: If it's something as obscure as Pokémon names, it has to be REALLY powerful. Learning the steps to the nearest evil player with THIS many opportunities for that to jump somewhere else? and relying on such a particular attribute of them. like ig generations is still the most guessable part of it, but it's just like, figuring out the names don't refer to the names but GENERATION will take the Amnesiac all game (and in this case was never solved). Then figuring out WHAT this number that you're essentially given stands for, when we've got dozens of roles whose ability is "learn a number"? That takes another game worth of time. Gotta make BOTC Legacy to make that Amnesiac ability worth it.
i can't believe this worked. i'm sorry for essentially live commentating as i watch but this is genuinely the funniest game i've ever seen. i'll shut up now
Reminds me of when I saw Patters convince the Lunatic that they were the Demon and didn't need to talk to the other "Minion" who was actually a Townie. Patters is OP.
Watched it live and watching it back is just as insane. Bluffing grandmother was already insane and I didn’t even remember that part cos the rest of the game and the hostage situation is so shocking
Wow, it's already been half a year, stumbled upon the video again, rewatching it, and it's no less wonderful this time around, so many marvelous moments including taking the widow into a chat, informing them you know everything, and them having no time to respond before everyone's pulled back into town
i would be (rightfully) genuinely upset at an ST giving that amne ability. that is just insane. it was the whole reason the town couldn't figure out the widow poison vs drunk situation.
While I'm so happy with how this plays out, I wish we could also watch an alternate timeline where Patters immediately sells out the evil team and gets what I assume is the world record for the quickest solve.
@@debbedoodle That one was more of a mechanical save if I remember correctly and I just think it would be funny for him to go into town square and be like the demon just outed themself and their minions to me.
@@musicalnerd5144 he could have but it would have been an incredibly unsatisfying game for everyone except perhaps patters. this was so much funnier than any other timeline
Man, where do I even start here?! This game delivers on all the promises that the title makes and might well be the most fun game of Blood on the Clocktower I've ever watched! Props to you for making the fun play and how in the hell did you get people to just go along with you so well?
I have to say... this is probably the best game of clocktower i've watched. What a masterpeice! Holding up the evil team for ransom, the grandmother bluff.... everything just falled into place. You have to love it when everything goes according to THE PLAN. I'll be re-watching this again and again for sure!
The description cannot be more correct. This game was ridiculous, yet so skilful. By all means the bold plays shouldn't have worked out so well. and yet they did again and again.
I was lucky enough to watch this one live but I’m so glad I rewatched it. That day 2 conversation with Surprise where you dump everything on him and then immediately get dragged back Edit: hey! There’s me at 1:13:05 getting a warm on the amni ability
Absolutely insane timing on everything. This game was mad. I love watching your videos so much, Patters. *Spoilers:* I'm going to guess now before I see the end that the Amne ability is "Each night, choose a player: you learn a Pokemon based on their generation. Gen 1 = Town, Gen 2 = Outsider, Gen 3 = Minion, Gen 4 = Demon." I only know gen 1, so I have no idea how close my guess is. Maybe it has to do with evolutions, but I think he said he picked Patters first? If it was evolutions = character changes, that'd be great. Picks Patters after he changed twice to get Charizard, a Pokemon that evolved twice.
Absolutely amazing game. Not a fan of amni abilities like seen here. That was WAY too difficult to guess, and the information it gave wasn't very useful unless it was guessed. An alternative pokemon-themed amni ability that should be guessable would be something like "Each night, pick a player. You learn a pokemon. That pokemon's generation relates to the chosen player's character type. (Gen 1 = townsfolk. Gen 2 = Outsider. Gen 3 = minion. Gen 4 = demon)" Amnis should be more powerful than other townsfolk, and it should be reasonable for the amni to guess what their ability is. I'd suggest avoiding things like 'steps from target', since that obfuscates any information too much to be useful with an unknown ability. I'd suggest avoiding requiring the Amni work out who's evil in order to make reasonable guesses.
The biggest issue with it is that it requires information outside of the game. Amnesiac abilities to put it frankly, should be able to be solved by anyone with the information in the game. If it requires outside information like knowing Pokémon it makes it impossible for those who don’t know it. I don’t know Pokemon so if I got that ability I would have made it clear at the end I don’t know Pokemon and I probably never would have played a game with that ST again
I should play the digital version more. I quite enjoyed Wingspan. Never played in person, but I'm sure I'd love it. Also strong agree on Quacks. I don't think I've ever had a bad game of it and I've had so much success with bringing people in that don't normally play board games. One time, I was waiting at the bar to play it for game night, but people weren't showing up except one person. I convinced two ladies sitting at the bar to join me and the other person. We had an incredible game where one of the two won and they both were like "I didn't know board games were like this!" Such a cool experience.
Calling it halfway through the video: Amne ability is: Choose a player: You learn one of Ash's Pokémon if they're good, or a Pokémon that Ash has never had if evil
@patters I have an amne idea that I need help balancing Each Night, choose a character, if it is in play they are drunk, the chosen ability happens arbitrarily tonight. You act first at night. my question is, should it be Each Night* and should there be a limit on which characters you can pick, like no repeats?
Great Game OMG, an Evil bigger than the evil team Haha. I have a rules question though, last night, shouldn't Patters(Fan Gu) have died after attempting to kill Thicc Nick(Lunatic outsider) making Thicc the new Fan Gu?
Fang Gu only gets to jump to an outsider once in the entire game. Even if the Fang Gu was cycled out with the Pit Hag and remade there can never be a second jump
23 minutes in: When a good player on day 2 knows the grim better than the Demon who has a widow
I was really hoping to see the reactions of town when patters explained how he held the evil team at gunpoint to turn him into the demon, I thought that would have been funny haha
The fact Patters could have ended this game immediately but chose to keep it going for the sake of content is gold.
That amnesiac ability is utterly shameful.
Agreed. It’s very bad.

That Amne ability is evil hooooly. Knew something was up with one of them.
It wasn’t just evil it was bad. An Amnesiac ability that requires outside information is both unfair and not what the Amnesiac is about.
