    Sadly there is a rise of people buying huskies without having the means to care for them. This is because the game of thrones show people want s dog that looks like a wolf. But huskies require special care .

    • @rcrow2011
      @rcrow2011 4 года назад +12

      Yes they do scalding, yes they do! They are not "ordinary" dogs & retain alot of their wolf ancestry characteristics. They are very intelligent, athletic, problem solving pack animals & require different handling/training then ordinary dogs.

      Huskies are notorious for getting out of enclosures and running off. My husky essentially laughed at us when we installed a better fence and put the shock collar on her. She still got out and basically gave us the finger as she ran off. Lol. She always came back though. She was such a stinker.

      Brand names.

    • @sassbrat
      @sassbrat 4 года назад +9

      Shows can't show brand names mostly unless they are sold all over the US. I live in Michigan and we have a lot of brands that only Michigan have and nowhere else. Schools and colleges are allowed. Think the show CHOPPED if one of the items that have to be used are candy coated chocolate piece which are of course M+Ms but they can't be called that on tv.

    • @Jay-hg7uw
      @Jay-hg7uw 3 года назад

      Almost correct. They choose not to show brand names as it weakens their position with advertisers. Advertisers and promoters buy on the understanding they’re the only product associated with, or shown on, a show.

    The only way I could keep my 3 Huskies in my yard was to string a 3 strand hot wire for horses/cattle. The 1st wire had to be just inches off of the ground bc they would dig under it if the 1st "hot wire" was any higher up...believe me I tried all height variations until I found the winning one that kept them contained 👍

    • @tiastarbreeze
      @tiastarbreeze 4 года назад +3

      Only under vet recommendation. Salicylates in the medication can cause gastric bleeding when used in excess or wrong dosage. It's rarely used. When my whippet was going through kidney failure we had to give her Pepcid which is much more common. Also Pepto is fatal for cats as Salicylates is highly toxic to them.

    • @rcrow2011
      @rcrow2011 4 года назад +1

      Pepto should only be given to your dog 🐕 under close vet supervision & NEVER be given to 🐈 cats as it can/will kill them...bc of the salicylate it contains!

    When i was a kid I had a Blue Merle Collie named BluBlu that escaped when Ice came down on the fence and knocked part of it down as well as scared my other dogs but we managed to get them but BLUBLU we just couldn't find. It was 18 months later when a somewhat friend of the family managed to catch Blu when they saw him. I had never seen a dog that skinny before. He knew who we were and as soon as we could took him to the vet for a check up. For what had happened to him he was in good shape but scared mentally and we just never could get weight back on him no matter what we tried.. He lived for another 6 years he was 9 at the time that we lost him and the last 2 years we started to lose him as the vet told us as well on one of the final check ups was that it was that he was without proper food for those 18 months that his body was shutting down so faster than normal with his kidneys issues. We didn't want to put him through much pain so when he started to pee and poopoo blood was when we said good bye. We were also told that most dogs only lived 2 years after what he went through do to the trauma so we knew that we did a good job for him.

      nah, huskies are just dogs that don't really have an interest in staying in any location(it's why they make great sledding dogs, get them going in a direction and they'll just keep going until they're tired or told to stop)
      this is a concern to any husky owner, even it the penned yard is several acres, full of activities and everything a dog could want, a husky may get "adventurous" and vanish to who knows where
