Speaking of goodbye films. Reports surfaced this weekend that Paramount wants to make the next Mission Impossible movie a goodbye movie, especially with its reported $400M budget, but Tom Cruise is reportedly not interested in that.
How could paramount want the movie to be a goodbye movie after they spent 400 mil. Maybe the studio should make that decision before they make the movie 😂
Moana is the parents hot ticket. They are waiting to take their kids to see this much loved movie and characters. Parents need movies to keep their kid entertained and are waiting for it.
That's one I'm looking forward to along with _Red One;_ (not so much _Wicked_ or _Gladiator 2)._ Funny how Disney sequels used to be direct-to-video movies!
For a movie released WAY TOO EARLY on digital, The Wild Robot's hold in its first 6 wkends has been absolutely insane! With 9wks in the Top 10, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has killed it with $292.1m domestically, just a shame the franchise like a few others (Ghostbusters, A Quiet Place, Scream, Halloween) doesn't travel well outside North America doing a much bigger portion of their box office domestically as opposed to internationally as is the norm! Godzilla Minus one was brought back into 1,365 Theaters this wkend grossing an additional $510K domestically.
The Wild Robot is the kinda thing audiences are looking for right now too, it's such a shame they didn't promote it that well. Stellar story, incredible visuals, with characters that are not just memorable but authentic and fun. I'd do anything for a sequel.

C'mon Grace! Tom is not only a great actor, he has an A-lister Star audience pull with a dedicated fandom. He's a method actor, on Chris Nolan's speed dial, has fans in both Marvel and DC alike, and he even stole the show in Peaky Blinders from the main actor in all the scenes he was in. Heck, the season 3 finale is arguably the best acting and dialogue sequence in cinema history, and it's delivered by him!
Grace, why are you optimistic about Venom’s box office but down on Alien: Romulus’s box office? If both are franchises movies then wouldn’t Venom’s box office be underwhelming?
@ she still kinda is. Saying it’s low for a franchise movie. People have argued that it’s good bc Alien Romulus is a horror movie but she’s pushed back hard
Grace you’re kidding yourself if you think Tom Hardy doesn’t have his pick of projects to work on. He is still one of the most respected and talented actors in the business. Mad Max, Revenant, Inception, etc. There are plenty of top directors who would jump at the opportunity to work with him
Agree with you completely re you I don't understand some of the stuff grace says it's like she just has to talk down to actors and be little them for some reason. I find myself really being turned off her content because of it
Arcane actually does have decent marketing. Well, for a Netflix show anyway. Mostly carried out by Riot themselves, but still... Netflix has several trailers, constantly promoted on their social media, has always been present in their reveal shows like Tudum, etc. Riot of course has heavily marketed the show into their games, struck deals with companies for merchandise, made collabs with artists for songs. And to answer your question: it's pretty obvious that while Arcane is ending, another installment will take its place and continue building the universe.
The performance of The Wild Robot really confirms my belief that there must be something more at play for TF One's poor box office than just the terrible marketing. Because why is TWR growing steadily and amazingly in its following weeks while TF One didn't?
The literati came out for _Wild Robot,_ but I don't know why people didn't come for _Transformers: One._ Because it wasn't advertised properly? I didn't like the trailer for either. Because people didn't know it was out? I heard that all year long for various movies. Because it was animated? Kids should have shown up. Because the brand is dying? I don't think so.
Well, they did one thing right: they put out a lot of Spider-Man movies in a short time that were successful: _Spider-Man Homecoming (2017), Into the Spider-Verse (2019), Spider-Man Far from Home (2019), Spider-Man No Way Home (2020),_ and _Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse (2023)._ And he also appeared in 3 MCU movies. But I agree: _Venom (2018)_ with Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man or a Spider-Woman might have made a billion, as would _Venom 2 (2021)_ or _Venom 3 (2024)._
Your little bashing at A Different Man is unwarranted. A brilliant film. It’s sad when critics talk like that about a film they’ve never seen. Do better Grace.
Agreed. I have no idea what Grace is talking about beause I loved that movie. It was such a dark and clever deconstruction of beauty standard film tropes, and the performances were some of the strongest I've seen this year. A shame it was only in theaters super briefly and hardly anyone got to see it. Really hope more people discover it on digital and streaming.
“Don’t Move” is frankly a better movie than “Woman Of The Hour.” The former had a tight, rapidly moving story, while the latter had a time frame that bounced around, which undermined its ability to build suspense & tension. The former had action, while the latter resolved itself with very little action. It should be noted though that Kendrick has donated her entire salary to RAINN & similar women’s causes, so that’s quite admirable. Also of note is the young woman who played a runaway teenager who outwitted the serial killer. Her performance was quite good, & I’m absolutely sure we will be seeing her again in future projects.
I couldn’t agree more. When woman of the hour ended i literally went ‘wait that’s it, seriously?’ A very disappointing move. But I absolutely enjoyed Don’t Move, acting was surprising good too.
It is Tom Hardy first, Venom second is what's selling this series Grace! It does not need a Spider Person because it would take the focus away from him!
Sebastian Stan is interested in doing good and challenging roles, A Different Man is one of the best movies this year, actors do not work only for the box office, this is a ridiculous statement. I do agree on Anthony Mackie though, he is a ridiculous actor, this is why his comments about pictures with fans will always haunt him.
I think Grace and Hollywood keeps underestimating how much people like venom. I’m not a big fan of Tom Hardy’s version of venom but the character has been a fan favorite for a while. Marvel needs to have a proper spider man vs venom in the MCU.
Its important to notice, regarding netflix top 10´s, those numbers are global. And some movies are just on Netflix US, for example, Women of the Hour and the Sony movies.

You were speaking about India’s potential. Be aware that early next year is “A Nice Indian Boy,” a gay film that has the most buzz about it since “Call Me By Your Name.” It stars the Indian cab driver from “Deadpool” & Jonathan Groff, & is basically a comedic updating of “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner”
Just when it was about to fail, the audience rescued the Sony Spiderman Universe by buying tickets for Venom 3. Now we'll likely get more SSU properties. Here comes El Muerto.
Same has happened with MCU with Deadpool and Wolverine and DCEU with Aquaman, they were saved at their lowest points. All it takes is a fun movie. I mean if the audience likes it, who cares, if Sony makes a complete atrocious El Muerto movie like Morbius or Madame Web again, the audience will then simply outright reject it like previous ones. It's not that much of a big deal people are making it out to be. Begone the universes, Just enjoy the good fun ones, don't go to see the bad ones. It's not a comic book property obligatory watch that people pretend like it is.
Weekly reminder for Grace to start using more the Threads app!!!! X is so full of toxicity it should stop being considered as the place of public opinion, it’s not realistic
Grace, i really have to thank you because i saw Conclave after seeing you raving about the movie. I loved it, such a provocative, smart, subtle "church-mystery". It has an amazing Agatha Christie vibe to it.
The Sony Spiderless-verse missed its explanatory shot in Madame Web when it let Mary Parker give birth. Had she an Peter died, they could have had a great take on what happens to villains if there’s no hero to fight them. The original Batman touched on this with Joker and Batman “making” each other. This could have been the hook for Sony. That and maybe making better movies.
Glad to be watching Penguin weekly. It reminds me of really good TV from back in the day. Great performances and great cliffhangers. Grace, you'll love it. If for the performances alone!
Grace I work at Cinemark and this weekend they did early screenings for “Best Christmas Pageant” and it sold out shows all weekend!!! It was insane! I’m curious how it will do when it releases.
27:05 does Grace just hate movies or anything thats not a mass corporate studio picture? Because thats the only conclusion I have to this weird criticism of Sebastian Stan's career with a great movie like A Different Man . If youre doing a movie distributed by A24, you are not chasing box office
Saw Godzilla Minus One at a Cinemark this past Sunday for Godzilla's 70th anniversary! I know it didnt make it in the box office top 10, but god that movie is soooo good and honestly i think it was worth it to see it in theaters again!
I still believe Kraven is gonna bomb. Unlike vemon it will have competition this holiday season and it’s it exactly a “let’s take the kids to see this”. I Sony hopefully will learn to not make villain movie and just stick with vemon and other spider-man like noir. That’s what they should have been doing.
The fact that they did a Kraven film before the other villains baffles me... I would have loved a Goblin one. Or the other spiders like Silk, who deserves a film not a show. Then make Kraven a show since he's street level and it'd be easily grounded and low budget. Bizarre...
They seem to have forgotten that these villains were created to fight Spider-Man. It wasn't like someone was writing these characters in another magazine, and then Stan Lee bought them to fight Spider-Man.
I'm so glad Wild Robot was a success. I know Grace didn't care for it, but personally it's my favorite film of the year!

Hey Grace, I’ve been watching for a while now and I’ve got to say I respect your opinions so much. It’s my birthday today and I’m hopefully gonna get some movie theatre vouchers so I can see all the holiday movies. I’m super excited for Wicked and also think Kraven could be good
You were speaking about India’s potential.
Grace: "Tom Hardy is doing dumb stuff in a corner!" 🤣😂
DC and Marvel really need to go back to their classic iconic characters
love to watch this every sunday, me and my mom now watch it every week for the past 2 years with hot cocoa and the hot goss you serveee, love it grace
Hope spider-man 4 has Felicia to making MJ and Peter relationship more complicated.
Weekly reminder for Grace to start using more the Threads app!!!! X is so full of toxicity it should stop being considered as the place of public opinion, it’s not realistic
Oh please say u advocate for censorship without actually saying it smh
As long as Hollywood people use X, I think she said she has to to cover it.
Grace, i really have to thank you because i saw Conclave after seeing you raving about the movie. I loved it, such a provocative, smart, subtle "church-mystery". It has an amazing Agatha Christie vibe to it.
Hey grace! I love your outfit and I'm really excited for the next movie club stream
And then Webb could see a different timeline where he and many spiders exist fighting crime. What could have been lol
I hope to see Miles Morales take on the Sinister Six Cartel in _Beyond the Spider-Verse,_ where there's no Spider-Man to stop them.
😂😂😂😂😂remember how she said Wild Robot was going open only with 12 million. 6 weeks later it is still in second place making more than 7 million
Conclave was so awesome. That ending! What a message it says about religion.
That picture of Amy Pascal looks like a scarecrow struck by lightning.

does Grace just hate movies or anything thats not a mass corporate studio picture? Because thats the only conclusion I have to this weird criticism of Sebastian Stan's career with a great movie like A Different Man . If youre doing a movie distributed by A24, you are not chasing box office
Saw Godzilla Minus One at a Cinemark this past Sunday for Godzilla's 70th anniversary! I know it didnt make it in the box office top 10, but god that movie is soooo good and honestly i think it was worth it to see it in theaters again!
I've seen A Different Man and it's incredible! Sebastian Stan has huge range, it's a classic if you ask me! Give it a shot !
It’s was so much fun. Loved the film.
Puzzling why Studios still leave out big release dates like Halloween & Labor Day
They still think people are gonna "do other things" post pandemic even though we'd show up for something on theme..
Talking about India, Tabu - a well renowned actress will play Sister Francesca in Dune: Prophecy
I liked venom 3 and it was better than the first but why Sony can’t get a good creative team on board is baffling
Venom 3 ❤
