Hello! Just want to jump in here so there is no misinformation. The mics are not 2 or 3GB each. The main mix is 350ish MB and when I started stacking several mic mixes we got above one GB. Also, there are six dynamic levels which are different to six velocity levels. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I believe each mic is roughly 2.33 GB (35 GB / 15 sources). As far as I know Spitfire plugins use disk streaming so it never loads the full length of the samples into the RAM. Only the start of the samples are loaded initially and the rest is read from the disk (still goes into the RAM but data that has just been read is flushed automatically as the sample keeps playing, otherwise it would build up hundreds of MB in RAM as you play while holding the sustain pedal). You can still tweak this in the settings but setting it too low may result in dropouts if the disk cannot read fast enough or have long access time, and on the contrary setting it higher takes more RAM and loading the plugin / changing mics will take much longer.

Thank you for your fine review. I use HZ Piano and that's great. What makes the difference here other than it was recorded at BBC Studios.

I bought this library today ..so have all 3 versions ..It is amazing …personally I’m not interested in core because Discover is now an optimum solution for efficiently laying down the basic midi in Windows for piano and other orchestral instruments , for ensemble pieces , with Windows systems specifically operating on low Ram and I5 or I7 processors .. plus now the pro is wtf marvelous for laying down the final piano tracks where with a little bit of cc editing / envelope ..great sounds unfolds…this approach , the Discovery low resource approach, leads to progressively ,finessing your project with top draw orchestral libraries for other instruments , it facilitates step by step the creation of excellent orchestral products without Maxing cpu or ram usage 😂in windows..joix 🙏🙏🏿✨👍🎵

Pro version - 2,3 GB per mic, 6 velocity levels - I simply don't get it. Happy with my VSL pianos

Thanks for this, nice bid. You may have missed an opportunity to connect with your audience by not sharing your Phobos settings. Something to consider in the future…. We don’t connect by withholding.

For pure REALISM, as in "sounds like an actual high end solo piano recording," how does it compare to the Spitfire "Hans Zimmer Piano"????

Strange behaviour. The loud notes seem to be close, the more silent seem to be far in the room. (i.e. at 18:18 ). That happens, when you record a piano in a room and lower recording gain for the loud notes. That lowers also the room. So I think, you have to stay with the close mics and use a consistent reverb.
Thanks for that test, like the piano anyway.

I have to disagree about the quality of the Discover version. I found it terribly flat and uninspiring. Listening to the Pro mixes here makes me wish I'd bought the Pro version in the upgrade window, but the Discover version put me right off.
