This game is the perfect simulation of a lone human in the wild. You're slow, you're weak, you're vulnerable. There's much you need in order to thrive. Food, shelter and fire are essential to you. However, due to your incredible ability to learn, recognise patterns, adapt and build, you get the upper hand regardless of how the odds are stacked against you. I have the abomination armour without taking a single hit. The big trees in the swamp can be built on, so I have a few ramps. Neither the abominations nor the wraiths can touch me on my little balconies. My base is surrounded by trenches that always catch the raiding trolls. It felt a bit like cheesing it at first, but then I realised that this is what it's meant to be. Don't try to roleplay the Terminator and go toe to toe with everything. Use your clever human skills to reign supreme!
"My base is surrounded by trenches that always catch the raiding trolls. It felt a bit like cheesing it at first, but then I realised that this is what it's meant to be" That's why I play in Hammer Mode, no raids. The devs provided it so to my way of thinking you're supposed to use it.
Leeches- No, they CANNOT come out of the water after you. They can, rarely, find themselves out of water but they cannot attack while out of water and the only thing they do while out of water is slowly slither back towards the water. So leeches are harmless- just dont go in the water, and for those times you must go in it stop and look carefully to see if there are any leeches first. Sea serpent shield- Yes, its questionable as an item to use on the regular, but it is MANDATORY if you want to build a block-skill trainer before you have black metal. The abomination armor- er, it does more than just raise your bow skill. The OP should read the text on ALL the pieces of it... Abominations are not completely hidden- you can spot them as an unusually green, slightly brighter treestump so you can avoid or ambush them. 'Tis true theyre nothing like as visible as trolls, but theyre not invisible. Collecting everything- The devs specifically have a policy that there's nothing in the game that doesnt have a use for something, so yes, collect everything until you fully know what each item can be used for. Then you can decide whether its worth collecting more of it. (Mind you, some items have very limited and/or optional uses. They arent all gold.) Building stuff in lots of places- again, thats a specific dev intent- at least a base in each biome. Controlling players- correct that you should almost entirely play your own way on a multiplayer server with one exception- do NOT kill a boss that hasnt been killed before on the server without as many of the players being present as possible since killing a boss has consequences for EVERYONE on the server, not just you, particularly certain raids. Everyone needs to be prepared for the changes in raids that come with a boss kill, or at the very least know that the change is happening. To not co-ordinate with as many of the players as possible for first kills of the bosses is the act of a raging asshole. After a boss has been killed once you can kill it at any time it amuses you, its just the first kill of each boss thats important for this.
Lox is so abundant in my seed that I don't feel the need to domesticate them. They'll keep respawning and the plains is so big in my starter island that I can try to clear out the loxen, which takes several days in game time, and before I can kill every single one, they would've started respawning in the initial spawn point.
Valheim rewards you for taking your time and punishes you for caring only about the action. The Rested, food, and gear mechanics make it so time spent building a cozy base & farm and just vibing in the world benefit your playthrough. If you don't take the time to build a neat outpost for convenient respawn, don't bother getting rested and waiting for day / good weather, don't bother farming to get the best food you can, and just rush into every fight, you're gonna be very weak to your environment and in for a rough time.
Each biome adds something that forces you to adapt to your environment. You can get away with running headfirst into things in the Meadows and Black Forest, but the Swamp is where things start to get hard enough you gotta be careful walking in to not aggro too many dangerous mobs. Swamp & Mountains add some environmental mechanics and are imo the most dangerous biomes at night relative to daytime, so you need to consider the weather and your stamina. Enemies become much more diverse in their strengths/weaknesses, so you need to be tactical when dealing with them. Can't fight a wolf the same way you fight a greydwarf or a skeleton
Dude, preparation is key, this game will bad touch you any chance it gets, repeatedly, and if you're having issues in the swamp, it may be a while before you drop any more Valheim content. I mean that with the utmost hope you do, It's my jam, I get a perverse kinda joy watching, and hearing about how this game can emotionally and mentally wreck you, it's comforting to know that others have, are, and will be going through what I did. Sounds like you should do a solo run, especially if you like sailing, then you can map to your hearts content without some prat bleating that everyone needs to sleep so their meads can ferment, or that you accidentally left the door open and let all their tames escape, or are forced to endure a boat trip with someone that really should be being dragged behind with the harpoon to act as bait for serpents and bone maws rather than trying to sail, etc. It's a great game, really hope you continue, and without spoiling, will say, you must be able to make the bronze atgeir by now, I suggest you make one, push your stamina foods when using it, and never have to worry about trolls, or being swarmed again. The special attack is the middle mouse button, give it a try, lol, See you in Valhalla.
Idk why but Valheim is honestly pretty simple, but I'm always looking for new videos to watch on it. I would LOVE if they added more mobs for the old biomes. Just to add more fun to the early game.
I’m one of those weirdos who doesn’t mind the swamp at all. It’s tough your first time, but like everything else in Valheim, it’s simply a matter of learning the ways of a biome. The wind is NOT reactionary towards the player. Wind, like weather, is actually on a set schedule in Valheim. There’s even a tool online that you can use to check these things. The power of enemies is less dangerous than their speed and numbers.
Thumbs up. Just beat the Elder. The swamp came to my home base and killed me. Now I'm naked with a stone axe and no boat, on the edge of a swamp working toward building a raft to try to get back home.
Amazing quality is a bit of a stretch. The weird needless audio visualiser, the questionable at best pacing, the random tangents that go on WAAAAY too long, footage that doesn't line up with what's being said half the time, and the random ass rant he did at the end all tell me that the quality is def not there. I feel like he def has some strong points as a creator but def needs a LOT of work in order to actually make it as a RUclipsr. Also Mr RUclipsr guy if you see this please don't quit your job in order to grow your yt channel even though ur only at 1k subs, that's just a recipe for disaster dude.
Coffee Stain Studios did make Goat Simulator 1 they did not make Deep Rock Galatic. That was made by Ghost Ship Games, and published by Coffee Stain. The Coffee Stain Studios Holdings is a bit of a mess so I can't blame you for getting that one wrong but yeah. Coffee Stain Studios has only made 6 games with their most recent being Satisfactory.
The Root Harnesk (abomination chest piece) is, IMHO, essential because you get resistance to pierce. this lets u tank Deathsquito hits a little better.
Sailing wouldnt be bad except every time I get on my boat it starts storming or gets crazy foggy. I never have nice clear skies like I see in your clips.
Yeah nar the swamp is a pain with the water and slimes but you can easily out run everything. but the ash lands is another story. About half of them are faster than you, the lava will hit you at the most annoying times, fort spawn rate is ridiculous and more.
I thought the swamp was difficult because of the spanners but I personally think the filing camps in the plains are the hardest if you don't cheese them. Plus the deaths quits if you don't bring the root harnesk
Swamp feels the hardest bc it's the first biome that really punishes you for rushing in unprepared. By the time you get to Ashlands you really need to know what you're doing. I think I died in the Swamp slightly more than Ashlands bc I wasn't super experienced with the game mechanics
The root harness does provide massive protection from pierce damage. You stated that it is purely offensive. This is an incorrect statement along with about 10 other things you said. I would strongly advise for people to not rely on this video for truthful information.
What's funny is I never saw a single root enemy on my first playthrough, wasn't till the 2nd id find some tree rip itself up to Woop my ass and much longer to even consider mixing previous biome gear to push past new challenges, honestly the only thing I think the game needs objective improvements in is giving more info to the player
It's a relative thing, they are in the first real biome, but they are as strong as your average plains mob, meaning for the vast majority of the time you spend in the game, they are the strongest mob you will experience (certainly until the mountains) unless you're also talking about sea serpents, they're kinda in a tie on that. Or you could be a dumbbass like me and learn the hard way what a bone jaw is while you sail in your karve towards the cool spiky rocks you saw at the bottom of the map
Dude, you doesn't even got to the Plains yet, you still have A LOT to discover, some things get better, but most things get a whole lot worse... You aren't even on the half of your journey

Good breakdown of what they got wrong

Make sure u have a camp with a bed on every island u visit. If you die a million miles away from home you will just respawn at your camp instead

I think valhiem blends chill with intensity and strategy. A monotonous task can be a rewarding one, depending how much you like being creative.
Thumbs up.

Use portals more efficiently bro
great video, amazing quality, you deserve way more attention
lets hope he doesn't become a pedo lol

Im in the Ashlands and i still think the swamp was the hardest biome in the game
Then you aint in the same Ashlands I am, lol.

They clearly haven't gotten past early/mid game based on their commentary
nice review, hope you're still having fun with this awesome game
Mountains are my favorite biome!
Very Nice game review. Please make a play through someday, i mean a series here on RUclips., i would love to watch it. Good job and have a nice day.
My first play through the elder spawned next to the plains and knifing kept sabotaging my boss fight. That’s as unfair!!!
Trolls r NOT the strongest

you consider swarming a problem? I see it as a target rich environment
good to see new people get in to valheim oh and good luck on ashlands you will need it lol
Oh the mistlands and ashlands are going to absolutely love you~ 😈
Dude says "pick all you can" then says "mostly i just sneaking past the enemies". Make up your mind man, you are going to need the mobs droppings too
Loved every second of this video lmao
For the algorithm
Dude, you doesn't even got to the Plains yet, you still have A LOT to discover, some things get better, but most things get a whole lot worse... You aren't even on the half of your journey
Need any help in Valheim?
Whats up with the yelling?
This video sounds like a bunch of complaining about your own skill issue.
That is almost exactly what it is 😂😂
