Hey, i'm so glad that my video helps you. And you are welcome, if you need anything else or you have any questions. please just ask, Best regards, Neill
Hi, glad to help, yes the 8520 and 8530 are basically the same, they just have different soft wear, good luck with what ever you do, kind regards, Neill.
well thanks to your video, i was able to figure out what lcd screen i have and placed my order! too bad i did split the front protective screen in half, but thats cheap enough to replace... so far so good, thank you very much for the help!!
Hi, no just changing the LCD you should not loose anything, just take your time and make sure you order the write LCD, you need to check if you need the 005/111 or the 007/111, you should be able to see one of these two codes printed on your old LCD, I hope this helps, kind regards, Neill
Hi, did you buy the right screen as Blackberry has different screen for different counties, it is probably that you purchased the wrong one, on the back of your old LCD under a sticker there should be a code like this ( 001/111 ) or something like that, check to see if it is the same as your new LCD, I hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
Hi, the best thing to do is try a the next size up torx screw driver, if that does not work then try using a flat head screw driver and see if that can work, the other key point with these screws are you need to use a lot of downward pressure otherwise you will damage the heads, I hope this helps, Kind regards, Neill.
Hi, know problems, you can find the serial number on the back, it may be hidden under a black sticker running round the edge of the LCD, if you have trouble let me know, kind regards, Neill.
Hi, Blackberry changed the LCD's for different regions, I don't why they did this but they have, before you buy a new one you must take your old one out and look for the serial number, then match it to one of the LCD's we sell, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
@bibblebabble69 Hi, yes sometimes a white screen is caused by the LCD, it's a good place to start, just make sure you check what LCD number yours is before you buy one as there is more than one LCD for the 8520, it will be on the back of the LCD, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
@SuperSmurfz Hi unfortunately Blackberry changed the screen for different regions, not sure why but that's what they have done, the only way to tell which one you need is to take it apart and check the serial number on the LCD, if you have ordered the wrong one i am 95% sure it wont work but you can try if you like, if it is the wrong one and does not work just send it back and order the right one, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
@joshfig96 Hi, in most cases the ID number is on the back, under the black sticker that runs around the edges of the LCD, i tried to find out what is the most popular screen for you region but it seems our records show we send both screen to your region, i can not advise you what one to buy because i could be wrong, sorry i can't help you further, kind regards, Neill.
Hi, the blue dot is a warranty sticker, basically Blackberry put it there so they know if someone has opened your phone other than them, the screw is under that blue sticker, You can just push through the sticker or remove it then you will see the other screw, I hope this helps, and if you need anything else just ask, Kind regards, Neill.
i recently fell on my blackberry curve 8530, and i have a bunch of thin colored lines on my screen, could this be caused by a damaged lcd screen? you have no idea how happy I'd be for an answer!!
Hi, it can only be two things, first your battery is dead, ( but i doubt that ) second it is the battery connection on the middle frame, first check that there is no dirt on the connections, if it is clean and you still have the same problem then you may need to change the connection socket, we don't sell the spare battery connector but a new middle frame from us will cost you $6.43, if you have a friend that has an 8520, ask then to try there battery in your phone, i hope this helps Neill.
Hi, yes you have cracked the LCD, best to change it as it will only get worse, one piece of advise though, take the LCD out before you order a new one as there are several different LCD's, Blackberry made different LCD's for different countries, I don't know why they did this but they have, so check before you order, there will be a serial code on the back, it maybe hidden under a sticker, the code will have some numbers in it like this 005/111 or 007/111, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
Hi, Astra0717, onn the back of your old LCD under a sticker there should be a code like this ( 001/111 ) or something like that, check to see if it is the same as your new LCD. Hope it helps. Regards, Sunny
Hi, It can only be one of two things, one the screen you purchased is faulty or second your motherboard is damaged, if you have any friends with the same phone then ask them if you can test the LCD you just purchased on there phone, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
yes it helps me so much man thank you... like really haha i might have a place i know fix it for me so i dont mess it up, but if its too expensive, would following this video.. even for a curve 8530 still be alright? or are they different
in the link you provided, there is two lcd screens that differ in price, if they are both compatible for the blackberry 8520, what is the difference between the two?
Hi, sorry to hear that, most people look at there phone as some really high tech gadget, but really they are all very simple to fix, at least you have seen that next time you can have a go, thanks for your comment, im glad you watched it, Kind regards, Neill.
Hi, unfortunately you have to take the phone apart as the serial number is on the back of the LCD, you could ask the shop you purchased it from if you purchased from a shop but I doubt they will have the info you need, sorry about that, kind regards, Neill.
@joshfig96 Hi, the best thing you can do is take your LCD to a repair center and ask them to identify what model it is, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
Hi it sounds like the replacement you purchased if faulty, can i ask if you purchased it from us? if not try to get a refund, and maybe look at buying from us, the white screen is probably caused buy a damaged LCD, I hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
dissasembled my 8520 and put on new housing and when put i put all backtogether. when the batteries in lights comeon and it doesnt boot up. it was fully charged before i started.
Hi, unfortunately it souds like you have damaged the LCD ribbon cable, I guess the best thing you can do is to try to take it apart again and check that all connections to the motherboard are on properly, then try to turn it on again, if it is still the same then my guess would be you need a new LCD, sorry to tell you this and i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
@SWwebmaster i wanted to tell you that i had orderd one screen and in your viedo you said you have to check wich one it is and the one i orderd was the 005 n 007 something like that but im not sure if it would work or not
@mrmaghribi786 Hi, first you should double check the screen connections make sure there is no damage to the motherboard connection and the LCD cable connection, also double check the serial code on the back of your old LCD as you may have purchased the wrong screen, i hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
Hi Chelsea, i feel sorry to hear that. It would be caused by many issues so it is quite hard to judge the issue. However, i will send you some information it might help you out, please check you inbox. Kind regards, Laura.
Hi, it sounds like you need to buy a new LCD and follow this video, we sell them on our website at sw-box.com, but before you order one just tell me if you have a white screen or a dead screen? kind regards, Neill.
The number at the back off my broken screen is LCD-11059-010/113 and under it saying 114/Ha110110cm1 does this mean I need to get a screen with that number on too ? :L thanks.
Hi, unfortunately Blackberry has different LCD's for different countries, the only way you can tell witch one you need is to take the phone apart and find the serial number on the back of the LCD, but it may be hidden under a sticker so be careful, if you take it apart and there a lot of numbers then message me again and i will help you, good luck, Neill.
"we couldn't find quality ones" means we haven't met one from the market can make us satisfied, if we are not satisfied with it, how can we sell it to our customer? : ) This is my personal suggestion: Maybe you can try to search on Amazon or Ebay, where you can see comments for the products. Sorry that I don't have "happen to know" source for that... Anyway I hope this helps Kind regards Neill
@TheNorthernMonkeyz Hi, that is unfortunate, honestly it sounds like the motherboard, the only advice I can give you is take it to a repair centre and let them take a look, sorry I can't help you further, kind regards, Neill.
I think you won't. Remember do not put the hairdryer too close or too long toward to screen in case of any unexpected damage, I hope it helps Kind regards Neill
Hi, sounds like you have hehehe, the only thing you can do is take it out, if you purchased it from us, you can send it back and we will send you the right one, I hope this helps, kind regards, Neill.
Hi, I just got my new screen with the 'correct screw drivers ' i ordered it from internet and ive been tryign to take it apart for the last couple of hours, problem is that the screw wont become loose its either the drivers that came with it are too small or there is someting wrong with the bolt as I tried to open it and might of damaged the bolts. ill try to get another t6 as original ones that came was nt corrent or if thats wrong then ive damaged the screws, what should I do if I have?? thx
