I have the HUB only and I use my old smartphone ( pixel 2xl) as the remote and I almost have the app on every smartphone or tablet in my home and everything works great 😉👍
Great review. I went with the Elite because I have my a/v components behind a wall. Well worth the upgrade from my previous Harmony 900 which was crapping out. Voice control with Alexa comes in handy for me at times for opening/closing activities, controlling volume & changing channels. The app also comes in handy when the remote is charging.
I found an older model at a thrift for only $10, and it's been the most useful item I have in my workshop. Almost every piece of AV that comes into my shop is lacking a remote, and now I know I don't have to worry about that aspect. I have yet to find a piece of equipment that isn't supported. Fantastic :-)
You're correct, Channa. The item would have been ordered and then returned. I used to grade returned items when I worked at Amazon. Renewed items are treated as 'like new'. I really need to look into getting a Harmony remote so I don't have to have 6 different remotes sitting beside me lol

Great video Channa. Using the same one, wish I went with the HUB as there are certain things that you need it for (not everyone) like the NVidia Shield remote and smart lightning in the room, LIFX etc.

I've had one of these in a drawer for a couple years now I became a big believer of the smaller screen less remotes and my phone or tablet when I need to do more than that thing already does. such a much better solution to me. anyone want to buy a used one of thses it's barley ever been used I've had both since day 1 and very quickly gravitated towards the simple remote.
Another great video Channa. I have both Touch and Elite (950) . Elite is so much intelligently designed . You didn’t mention why you didn’t get the hub ? It’s so much easier to use with the hub n wife never complains any more.
Thanks for the review. Since they have done away with the Harmony One, I have been looking for a suitable replacement for it. This looks like it might fit the bill.
Are remotes still needed? Everything else is app based these days not hardware based. We don't carry pocket organizers or cameras anymore, everything is an app all in one physical device. Most AVR's etc these days can be controlled by an app but I guess the problem is that each device needs it's own app. Seems like the ideal solution would be a virtual remote app that you install on your tablet that links to or simulates all the individual device apps combining them all into one. Basically converting your phone or tablet into a universal remote. I'm just starting construction of a new theater and all the equipment will be in a control room behind the theater so I'm wondering what will be the best solution to control it all.
I got the companion for 99 on Amazon with the hub but quickly replaced with elite. I bought the hub new on eBay for 29.99 and bought the 950 separately for 75$ brand new from a Facebook market user. No idea why he was selling it, he said he upgraded it (probably to elite? Not knowing it was the same remote?) All in all... 105 for the elite and it works great. In order to get the most battery, I turned off haptic feedback and the tilt sensor (I actually prefer to touch the screen to activate it) and reduced brightness (even at minimum is really visible during daylight
The four buttons at the bottom are different on the Elite and the 950, something I haven’t noticed until now, yet I’ve had my Elite for a few years now.
Nice vid. Don’t u miss the convenience pressing channel digits to quickly get to a channel deep in a channel list? Screen is nice but a chore to select a channel. I have trouble with my fingers and screen is nice but loss of keypad. Is this an issue for you? Bought a stereo preamp and hope this will turn on avr tv and preamp by pushing one button. Hope I can do this.
yea its a good remote we program a lot of them for our clients ... and if your looking for a better than average mid to hiend somewhere in that middle this is better than some remotes because you do not have to call a AV installer whos a dealer for the Logitec remotes ... because as a homeowner you can not get the software for RTI or UNIVERSAL remotes etc so when its programed and you replace the cable box and you know u will ...or tv or anything or add something with Logitec you can do that yourself and Not have to try to hunt down the RTI or the UNIVERSAL dealer AV guy who has the software
I have the harmony elite I wish I would of known more about it before I bought it cause it would be awesome with out the hub you have to have out for the items to work cause the remote sends commands to the hub and then it sends the codes out to your items. And the hub is a eye sore in front of the the soundbar and tv. I like the 950 cause no hub needed
Weird I have two of the touch remotes no complaints both bought as Amazon used items. My wife uses it without issue. Guess your mileage may vary from wife to wife!
Great video, for Harmony remotes while watching Cable/Apple TV/movies did you turn off HDMI-CEC on the TV, like LG has SimpLink and Apple TV settings needs to change under Remotes and Devices, navigate to the bottom and set Control TVs and Receivers to off? Currently when power on Apple TV with Apple TV remote it powers on my Denon AVR-4300H and my LG OLED65GXPUA. I have Harmony Ultimate home with hub, just want to know if have turn off CEC to make the Harmony remote work. Let me know.
Ill look into this remote I had a Logitech 1100 and it died on me last summer. Right now ,using some remote apps for my smartphone. My google phone doesn't have a IR blaster built into it so I am using at the moment Broad link Hub for it to respond with the phone.

The 950 is constantly going to the devices screen - I've tried adjusting the touch timing in case I'm hitting devices when I reach for the remote but it doesn't help - worst problem with this remote next to the horrifically bad battery life. I guess it doesn't matter as it seems to be that logitech is getting out of the remote business.
I purchased this remote in January 2020 via Amazon Renewed. It's the best Logitech remote I've ever used. I've owned several. The biggest issue is it loses Wi-Fi connectivity far too easily. It gives you an on screen error and you have to acknowledge the message to continue to use the remote. But it has a great layout. A great screen. Overall I give it a solid 8 out of 10 as long as you use it with the Harmony Hub.
Great question, they do. the typing on the physical buttons is in white, and when you lift the remote and turn on the LED screen, the physical buttons do light up. Not that noticeable though...

When I game, I have to change my settings to game mode & then back to movie mode for regular movie / tv viewing, Can this remote to that as well as input changes or will I still have to manually go in & change it?? Matthew James You have to set up a macro with the correct button presses to put your TV into or out of game mode. You cannot just click “Play Video Games”. I use “Play Xbox X” & it sets everything to what it needs to be. Then after that has completed, I press the “Game Mode On/Off” macro I created to turn on game mode. (On touch screen) The trick is to remember to turn game mode off with the macro before selecting something that doesn’t need game mode turned on. Hope that helps & answers question.
I have had 5 different Harmony remotes (350, 650, 665, 700 and Touch) but either the buttons wear out or there is a noticeable lag between button presses and seeing a response in my device. How is the response after button clicks? Do the buttons have a snappy click or are they kinda squishy?

Is there a way to combine devices on this remote? For example I have Cox cable and a Sony tv I don’t want to have to select which device to be able to pull up my dvr menu or my tv apps page. Is there a way to combine those on one so if I hit guide it being up TV guide if I hit menu it brings up my Sony tv settings page etc
Yes, you totally can!! You would have to change those buttons and in that menu, you sped it which device and then which function to assign. I would do this as an Activity on the remote.
Techno Dad okay perfect so it must have just been a user error on my end. The way had it set up was one device was my cox cable box and other device was Sony tv and it would not allow me to control both of those together I had to click into device Sony to control tv menus then if I wanted to control my dvr menu or go into my recordings I had to hit devices and click on my cox device to control it and vice versa which got frustrating having to switch back and fourth each time lol
You need to add apple tv and put the correct model number. Ex. Manufacturer: Apple Model: Apple TV 4k For the Dish network, you need to check if the box infrared receiver is enable. Go to settings, remote and you will see it.

No mention of the mic situation or lack thereof on the Elite especially after you mentioned Apple TV 4k which uses this feature. Now makes me wonder about the authenticity of your other product reviews and what we you may have 'missed out'.
Hello Stevie. I'm not sure how this review is not honest? Anyway, I did not know the Elite had a microphone feature. In fact, I don't use voice features at all. It's usually loud in my house and voice features end up being useless to me, therefore they never get used. I will try to include more voice features in videos moving forward.
Not being married means I can just keep using my cheap ass harmony 50. Yeah it's not the greatest but it works and controls all the features on my rack of crap.

I have always had good luck with Amazon renewed products. They have all arrived in basically new condition.

Just FYI the app no longer works on any updated MacBook. It’s has to be an older version because Apple no longer uses 32 bit.

Try holding down the off button for maybe 15sec it should power down. Then Waite a couple of secs then press the off button until the screen lites up.

Yes turn everything off so they don't conflict. The CEC becomes useless with a remote like this

It’s not supper snappy. My wife still finds a way for it not to work. Not 100% sure. It still works for me.

Does this give you full control of the settings on your AVR/TV/Apple 4KTV? As in go into menus and such if needed?
Does this remote control a PS4? You did say in the video it works with Xbox.
I think you’re supposed to be able to but I can’t get mine to work with the PS4 (I have the elite version so setup process is different I believe).
