I went 6 months. I washed my hair with the braids in though, I would wash every 3 weeks. Then throughout the month, I just oil it and spray leave it conditioner on it. Letting it bake like cupcakes. That’s how I put it in my mind, my hair is baking.
this is sooooo me. But literally i'm pushing through this year, even though i wanna take em out. Already 2 months in w/ my braids so fr if you wanted to you could gurl
Tip to reduce breakage during take down, put oil or water/conditioner mix in spray bottle and apply on it. Shedding is inevitable, but try that and properly detangle when taking down to reduce the amount of hair that comes out in the end. Hope it helps.
When I used to weave my hair, I will leave my weave in for four months, then take it out and redo it and my hair was healthy. Just extra careful when you’re taking it down and when you’re washing it.
whooowhoa lol your hair is GORGEOUS and you are so right when you just leave your hair alone it will grow. I did a 3 1/2 month crochet braid take down and I was scared because I had so much new growth and it had locked at the roots, I watched some good ole RUclips videos and learned how to take it town without damaging my new growth and it worked, I hardly had much shedding and I was super surprised at the growth. My hair grew close to 4 inches, thick and strong. I have my new set in now it's been 1 month 1/2 and my crochet braids still look fresh, I think I will swing it gain for 3 months. Thank your Lauryn for sharing.💞💞💞
I'm most impressed with how you managed to take down your hair with the nails! (Super cute btw) I know I'd rip them off in frustration. Hair is looking good.
I feel like people need to stop tell women and young girls what to do with our own hair. My hairs grows in weave and braids as long as my hands aren’t in my hair. I normally keep my braids in for 3 months my sew in hair for 2/3 months. My hair grows and is very healthy. I think some of these people need to get life’s and mind them own short hair business 😊
🔥💜 I love it. I’m catching up 😂! My hair grew so huge. I know that heavy feeling when I added water to. I loved when you put it in a ponytail and said period !
Be prepared for a lot of patience when taking them out. I did this for a year. My hair grew immensely but I did not have the patience to take out the knots and ended up shaving my hair. That was in 2016. Now I wear mini braids for 2 to three months at a time.
Girl, I love your voice esp when you voiceover for your TikTok. I download an unhealthy amount of your TikTok honestly. been doing your method and sigh, I just wish I found you wayyyyyy back. I'm at bra strap now tho. I don't want to officially claim it yet cos I'm scared it'll get in my head and I'll mess it up. I saw my new growth after 4 months and I legit thought it was a big ass lie. apparently, it wasn't. Thank you, Lord.
Okay, I keep my hair in cornrows 6 months at at time, but I still wash my hair every week, and I never lose this much hair, just some advice I add in hair it prevents it from matting after washing, but besides that good job
Hi, I love your channel. I have commented on a previous video and I was wondering if you're still following the same regimen: do you wash your hair during this time? What does your routine look like?
She replied under another comment. Here’s what she said: “I wash at least twice throughout the duration the braids are in. i oil my scalp every time i change wigs too.”
How do you maintain your hair while in braids? Do you moisturize with water/leave in or do you just use oil on scalp? My hair starts itching by a week. Beautiful hair
It’s a weird paradox: why do you care to flaunt about your length when you don’t like your hair anyway? What’s the point of growing it out just to cover it cause you “don’t want to mess with your natural hair”?
It’s not that she doesn’t like her hair she just doesn’t like the maintenance it comes with styling your hair all the time it is easier to get braids or wigs to lower the maintenance and make it easier to grow hair out
Je vai essayer de garder mes nattes 5 mois aussi pas facile, alors comment avez vous fais??ans shampoing et je suppose sous perruque belle pousse en tous cas magnifique
Can we see your edges.? Last time i got a lace front installed smh the aftermath wasnt terrible but part of my edges left me but it grew back. I see that youre consistent with lace fronts which is why i ask
Oh nah ….:.. my hair will LOCK after 6-7 weeks. I’m trying to perfect this cause at (42) thugs are changing and I wanna grow it out. It grows SO WELL with box braids. Mane and tail detangler is A GAME CHANGER!! I also use ACV/water mix. *and at 40 when I retire …. Who gonna tell her??”😂 bless her heart!
I want to go 5 months with my hair in braids, but I got school sadly so the longest I can possibly go is 3 months maybe then it's time for a new style I plan on getting soft locs in March leaving them in until June (only if they don't look bad by time spring pictures come around) take them out in June and leave the braids in until school starts back in august which would be 6 months

I love this videos for some reason lol….. I think I’m going to do this with faux locs for 4 months…. And repeat…. My hair is texlax, so it would take forever to loc…. And it will grow my hair out
Growth and retention are 2 difference things. Scalp inflammation is real, you do not want to damage your precious hair follicles. Imagine putting acid on your teeth to whiten it, you may get the results but overtime it leads to erosion. The health of your scalp is more important.
It’s not that much hair, she had it braided for 5 months, it’s normal to lose hair daily-hers was a collection of hair from over the course of literally almost half an entire year
I wish I could go 5 months with my hair in braids! I’m addicted to playing with my hair and would be itching to get my fingers in it lol
Right ❤

GirlI went 7 months with braids in, and my hair grew a lot. Your hair looks beautiful x
Same 😭
Did you wash your braids the 7months? If so, how often?
@@bharris4517Like every 1 or 2 weeks or when you feel you need to
How does it not break off tho ??

I also stayed for 6 months with my cornrows and the growth is real
Did you shampoo? If so, how often?
Yes but it breaks off too
We don’t care what other people say. Your hair is still growing! I wear 6 month sew ins.
Do you do closure or frontal? I'm trying that method

im gonna go 4 months with my dookie braids , as long as I’m moisturizing and nourishing my hair between wig installs I’ll be okay
The hair growth is insane😊
Your hair is thriving ❤ i love your hair
I stayed with my braids for 3 months, and the growth 😭♥️
How was it
Can’t lie the edges scared me soo bad when you first took off that bonnet though lol 😮 it turned out really great though!!
I think the makeup is what has me looking at this crazy in the beginning 🤣😂

I honestly understand why you do it , hell I do the same thing. But your hair is speaking for itself, so keep doing what you are doing 💥

Crazy how I was just watching an old braid takedown video of yours yesterday or the day before and here you are with another
That hair is gorgeous. I do two granny blades as a protective style, but can only take 4 days; because I love touching my hair🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey I just got my braids done I think I wanna see new growth and stuff so am going to keep them in for 8-10 months

@@rolandorzabal1955 thanks for the inspiration maybe I should get mini braids but am more use to box braids or cornrows
sis do individual plaits of bigger cornrows for faster takedown and less breakage
Your hair is beautiful!! 😍
She has beautiful natural hair I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE JUST HER as of that!!
I’m gonna TRY!!
Rn I'm 4weeks in with my corn rows. Wish me lurck!!🤣🤣 Aim 2 months

I do this but I the most ill do is 2 months. My scalp dermatitis would never allow it. Hair is the longest and thickest it's ever been
Beautiful long hair great job thumbs up god bless you
I’d love to try this but It’s not realistic for me. My hair is fine and my braids would disintegrates under my wig. How do you keep the smell down??
