Thank you! I live in Queensland, Australia where humidity terrorises us more than the other states and causes all sorts of problems - mould of course being one of them. I don't even live in the moistestest part! House up for sale, not very old but had about a two inch patch of mould behind one of the ensuite taps. Used your method and worked a treat. Brilliant!!!! Many kudos for sharing this awesome tip! I used Soft Scrub with Bleach instead of regular bleach and it still worked wonderfully. Can't say thanks enough!!!
If you need to remove old silicone, you can try to prevent mold regrowth by treating the mold with chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite). Leave the bleach on for an hour or so. Reapply if necessary. Use a scrub brush to thoroughly scrub off the area to remove any remaining residue and dirt or soap scum. Rinse well and allow to dry completely. Now apply regular rubbing alcohol to all areas where you want to apply the new sealant. Allow to dry thoroughly and apply the new sealant. Follow directions on the sealant with regard to curing time before using the tub or shower. Prevent new mold from getting bad by properly ventilating the shower or the entire bathroom after use. Weekly cleaning will help, and spray on some chlorine bleach after rinsing away the other cleaning products. Remember to use adequate ventilation, and protect your skin when using chlorine bleach. Don't mix bleach with other cleaning products, especially ammonia!

Wow. I've got an interior bathroom, so the ventilation fan will have to run for a long while, but this is absolutely a solution I'll use in the very near future.
Definitely worth a try, but I'll keep the gloves on! I recall using bleach on mouldy silicone years ago, and a few weeks later the bead shrunk, breaking the seal. The silicone was noticeably thinner, so I assumed the bleach had damaged it in some way.
I wish I had seen this last week before I scraped out the moldy caulk behind our sink to redo it! ☺ Oh well, I can still use this tip in our shower, thanks!

If you're skeptical like me, I just want to put some of that to rest. I can confirm that this works. I was honestly blown away by how well it works. Only downside that I see is that I don't think there's a way to get it to work on vertically placed tile. If there was, I'd be buying a pack of toilet paper and covering my whole bathroom in it. Anyways, thank you for the video, this made a huge difference!

Hi.. Thank you very much for this video and valuable information. Initially I was not at all sure for this idea but was tired of everyday cleaning work but after trying your idea .. I was surprised and very very happy. Salut.. 👍😊
Since bleach doesn't kill the roots underneath porous surfaces, it will only cause the mold to grow deeper and stronger as a reaction to the bleach. Also, bleach contains around 90% water. So once the chlorine evaporates and only the water is left, it will soak into the surface and feed the mold spores underneath it.

Mould isn't bacteria, but a fungal structure. Also the tissue isn't starving the mould of oxygen. It'd just holding on to the chlorine bleach, which works through oxidation; it breaks the chemical bond of the chromophore (a colour-producing portion of pigment) rendering it non-reactive with light.
Well done mate you have saved people a lot of money. I had mould on my bath rubber mats, but I found by rinsing them with cold water and hanging them on the wall (as it sticks), mould never returned. You should do a video on that too maybe.

I've never seen that thick bleach product here in the USA, must be a popular British product. I've done the same thing using regular laundry bleach (3%-5% sodium hypochlorite) and its produced similar results. I only kept it in place for about 12 hours but I made sure I kept the paper damp for that time (use a spray bottle with water in it).

Worked perfectly, thanks.
Absolutely gorgeous. It's amazing seeing how it comes up the next day. Great work ❤❤❤🎉🎉
If there is mold under any part of the caulking, it means the caulking has failed in that area.
Wow! Thank you. I own rental properties so loving your channel!
Well done mate you have saved people a lot of money. I had mould on my bath rubber mats, but I found by rinsing them with cold water and hanging them on the wall (as it sticks), mould never returned. You should do a video on that too maybe.
Glad my video helped. 😎
Worked like a charm! Thank you.
I've been using bleach to clean silicone seals for years but never quite seen it used like this. I've got a few hard to clean areas so I'll have a go using this method!
I tried this without much hope but holy sh*t it worked perfectly ! I couldn't believe my own eyes, there's no trace left.
I find this tip Extremely useful. Thank you!😊😊
Any ideas for how you would do this on a vertical wall?
channel made of bluetack or similar.
This is total incredibleness!! Im so impressed. I’m going to try it tomorrow!!!
Yeh it’s a neat tip
WTF--you wear gloves to apply the bleach to the paper and then use a naked finger to push the bleach saturated paper towel into the molding--like somehow the bleach now isn't corrosive???
Ehh he used 1 finger and prob washed it right after. Fuck it u bet he’s fine and still got hit finger
😂😂😂

Impressive results.. Recommend better ventilation or use a dehumidifier 😉
I can confirm this works! Life and money saver!! 😂👍
I just bought a tube of silicon, but I'll try this, first. Thanks, mate.
Yes it's pretty popular over here.
Toilet bowl cleaner with bleach
It's here in the US, labeled as "Low-Splash" or "Splash-Less" bleach.
I must say this hack is amazing!!!!! I have spent so much money buying different products didn’t know all I needed was thick bleach and toilet paper.
This worked perfectly, thank you very much!!!
My pleasure, glad to help out. 😎
Just tried this, was a bit skeptical, but it works wonders. Thanks.
Thanks, yes it really is a neat trick
Thanks, I'm going to try this!
Don't really see the point of wearing gloves if you're taking them of to put your finger in bleached towel, but anyway 😅
I’ve got tough hands! Yeh it is amazing it does work
I have been hunting high and low for a solution because we have an unventilated space where the shower room is and all the ledges angle up not down to drain so it is a recurring issue. this is manageable. hank you so much. You just bought me some time until we can remodel our wonderful disaster :)
Ideally you’d at least have an extraction fan if you don’t have a window
I’ve found this to be a temporary fix as the mould comes through again. Best to re silicone.
until the same thing happens on the new silicone
Thank you for this video! I have terrible mould in my bathroom, I need to try this!
It really does work.
