I would stay at this hotel for sure! The price is definitely ok, it shows that the staff and management is taking pride and care of such an historic place.
Was here recently. Loved the historic political history of the hotel. It was Margaret Thatcher 's favourite hotel. She preferred the Imperial to the Brighton Grand. It wasn't to do with the bomb, she found the staff excllent at the Imperial.
Great video. My sort of hotel, I also love period places. How lovely to see the Turkish baths. It all looked spotless to me and the breakfast looked spot on. I would stay there.
Thanks for watching!
These buildings are a treasure
Showing the Churchill room and turkish baths made me want to go and stay there and wander around go back in time lovely .
Stay at the Imperial on a regular basis. Fabulous hotel, food superb (try the evening menu) and as you say, the staff our brilliant at looking after you .
I love these grand old hotels and the service you get in them. I've never been over to Blackpool but I would definitely book into this one. The price is amazing, hotels here Ireland are very expensive.
Looks absolutely fantastic. I've never stayed living so close by 😂
I have stayed at this Hotel for many years. I always enjoyed my stay. On one occasion I was disappointed with my room and was upgraded to the Presidential Suite. Fantastic Room Service Breakfast.
As said the Staff are lovely and always say Good Morning or Good Evening.
Stayed there many times. Lovely place, staff, food and service was excellent. Used to stay here as a child with my parents. Been back a few times since.Love this place. X
Thanks for sharing
A beautiful hotel. Excellent value for money. My father used to stay here for the annual cinema event.
The Imperial is a fabulous hotel. Have always loved the smell, a sort of Sunday roast homely one !!! I learnt to swim there, a beautiful little pool in the basement, hope it is still there. I actually, nearly 40yrs ago had my 21st birthday there, my mother met her husband on the night and they are still together today. I met a fair few celebs over the years there, even dated a singer from an up n coming group , met in Trader Jacks at The Imperial. I am sure there was a bomb scare when Maggie Thatcher stayed there furing her hey day !!!!!
Great video, Namaste.
Went to trader jacks in the summer of 84, it was a very nice club and well run, we were staying at pontins down at lytham, quite a few good memories…
So who was the up and coming singer 😜tell me to do one but interesting fact ... did he make it ? I still love Blackpool... my dad had a Farewell to Blackpool just before he died ... he spent his honeymoon there in the early 50s ... there IS something special about these Old Hotel “Palaces” especially in the hay day of entertainment that was taking place in the town ... still can’t beat an ice cream stick of Blackpool rock and a walk along the whole of the PROM no matter what the weather!! Hope the town makes a comeback in some way🤞Must admit the comment you made about “smelling of roast dinners “ was spot on ... when we went there as a family in the late 60s we couldn’t afford hotels so it was B+B’s but the smell was the same ☺️Yum Yum 😋
went back in the 80s there, they had a club in basement, trader jacks i think it was called , great club and loved the hotel
Yes I remember the basement night club.yes it was called trader jack,it had a swimming pool next to it and a sauna
Decided to have a short break in Blackpool last autumn & after a bit of trawling chose the Imperial as our base. Can't remember exactly what we paid but it was in the region of what was quoted in this review. What a good choice we made. Left a review pointing out a few (very) minor details of the place that we felt were a little 'tired' & received a reply from the general manager thanking us & confirming they are gradually giving the whole place a makeover.
Ate in the restaurant two evenings & the bar on two other. Menu, food, service all deserved 11 points out of 10.
Overall a fantastic experience - this video shows it all - and would certainly stay again if in that part of the country (we live in extreme south west).
i would definitely stay at that hotel... what a beautiful place and everything looked great
Staying here tonight and the food is fantastic and the staff are wonderful.
Great review Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it
I stayed there in 2014 absolutely brilliant loved it and I agree the staff are lovely
Another time Another Place it takes you back to the Golden Days when life was definitely more relaxed ❤
Totally agree!
Stunning hotel, the architecture, the grandeur, lovely touch them upgrading you to the double room also. Looking forward to the rest of the Blackpool series. Thank you once again for sharing your experience. The general manager deserves a special shout-out too for taking you to the Turkish baths.
You are smashing it Paul, I subscribed to your channel very early doors when you were hitting just a few hundred views. Your channel has grown significantly and deservedly so! Hard work pays off!
Thanks so much! 😊
Stayed there when I was a kid many times with my parents they had a swimming pool and a snooker room … lot of great memories from the imperial…
Great video, after watching im putting that on my bucket list stunning hotel ,cheers.
I would definitely stay at The Imperial looks lovely and prices very fair
What a lovely hotel. What a wonderful surprise to get the free upgrade. What a wonderful find the Turkish baths. It's lovely to know that at least one of the old hotels is looking so good on the inside and is well looked after. If I wasn't living in Blackpool I would stay there.
You were so unlucky with the weather. We get amazing sunsets in Blackpool. And on clear days you'll get great views access the Irish Sea of the the Lake District mountains, North Wales and when the conditions are right the Isle of Man. Take the tram north, stop off at Bispham Station the highest point on the Fylde Coast for the fantastic views and great restaurants on Red Bank Road. Travel further on the tram to the beautiful town of Cleveleys with a great shopping street and a beautiful beach. Go to the end of the line on the tram to Fleetwood for Affinity outlet shopping, a great indoor market, lovely seaside town with fantastic views and a little ferry ride to Knott End another lovely little town with great views. Xxx
Last time I stayed in Blackpool was in this hotel. Got parked in hotel. Room was next door to this room.
It is next to a tram stop. So dumped my gear, and off to have fun.
So only slept in room. Enjoyed the breakfast.
I used to work there 20 years ago it was a nightmare. Bullying, harassment and intimidation had to be endured through every shift. Flat rate all hours and weekends. I remember there was one cleaner and one supervisor per floor and the supervisor would walk around next to the cleaner telling her what to do.
It was warm though, smelt nice and had amazing carpet.
didn't see any Prime Ministers but I swear I stood two feet away from Eric Bristow.
I definitely would stay there .such a classy hotel .Carol from Lytham,St Annes
I love the imperial possibly the best hotel in Blackpool nice and clean and well maintained and looked after, breakfast was great too lots of staff and a large room with lots of tables to choose from
The only negative thing i would say is the price of alcohol was highish but then again they have lots of overheads and you pay for quality
Would definitely stay there again as its got lots of character and Class
Looks ace hotel room looked ace and the meals woooow gonna give it ago.
I stayed at the Norbeck Castle in Blackpool just up the road, and it was a lovely stay, we went past this hotel, and it's massive, but I was happy at the hotel we were in .
Hi Paul, love these videos. You've actually done/doing some of my favourite places. Torremolinos, Benidorm and Blackpool. Much appreciated. cheers
Meant to say, dont know if you are trying The Ruskin in Blackpool, but its great.
Glad you like them!
yes looks great
I would love to stay in this hotel it's absolutely gorgeous and a fair price xx
Hi Paul, Such a beautiful hotel. As you walked in, you could see the wonder of years ago. Love the function rooms, and the room you were staying in, so clean everywhere. Definitely would stay there. Loved it!! Thanks Paul.👍
You need to cover the grand hotel in Scarborough if you haven't done so already. I'm new to your channel. The grand gained a really bad reputation a few years ago because it was run down and in parts dirty and in some cases some customers had their room ceiling fall down on them. Then immigrants were put there and kids just ran about freely wrecking the place and the parents never stopped them and totally disrespected the beautiful historic hotel they had been given the curiosity to stay in, they broke the lifts and pulled off the lift button boards, they pulled off the piano keys and basically ran havoc so they were moved out into other cheaper un historic hotels and the grand had a brand new make over. Its beautiful and back to the grand Ness it deserves. Me and my husband go every year and now take our granddaughter to experience the beautiful historic hotel and she loves it. We love Scarborough but unfortunately not Blackpool we had a very bad experience there when our kids were very little and my daughter was a baby in a pram when a massive fight broke out of the pub onto the street and surrounded us I was terrified for our safety and have never been back since. That is a very beautiful hotel though so maybe one day I will go try it out. Thankyou for the great video I have now subscribed to your channel 😀
Looks lovely, id definitely stay there
It’s great love blacky pool ❤
I use to go to the night club there, called trade Jack's, it had a beautiful swimming pool where I learned to swim, I went in tbe 70s it's not changed, still as beautiful, loved this video, I live in Blackpool, you presented it beautifully
Glad you enjoyed this video
Yes the Gideon Bibles. Hotels do have them 😊
Nice hotel and video. Has any told you you look like Pat Felan from Coronation Street. I thought you was the actor at first because he is from Liverpool area as well.
Yes
The towel dryer near the toilet you could easily burn your arm on it which i have spotted what do you think the dinning room is like going back in time very nice to see they haven't got rid of it as so many hotels did it just shows class looks a nice place to stay. Great video can't wait for the next.
The corridor looks like the one in the film The Shining.
Fab ..I'm booking now
We stayed there 2 years ago👌🏻
Beautiful
Unless that's Paris to the south I'd say that the Imperial is quite a hike out of Blackpool centre judging by the size of the tower!I suppose that the trams, and probably buses too,run frequently to town.
Hi there yea I remember the bibles sometimes it was the Gideon’s it’s a very dated hotel tbh is that the wind howl in in Louis room?? Loved the video here’s to more till the next one 😊
Hi Again Paul..i emailed Imperial Hotel to find out price for a 3 night stay middle of March.. I'm still lying on floor with shock..They quoted me £550 for the 3 night stay..I always thought if you booked direct prices could be a bit less..How wrong was i.
Sometimes it can be cheaper direct but March I've found to be a bit up the wall this year with bank holidays etc so prices may be high search the comparison sites
Yeh ... Blackpool has seen better days ... but .. places like this SEEM to be trying...have had many happy times In Blackpool so I think have many other people and parents alike ... I know mine did .. My Dad went there just before he died as a Farewell to Blackpool where he spent his honeymoon in the early 50s ....There is something that , also, pulls me back there.... Just hope the Council try just as hard as let’s face it the money they made back in the day must have been tremendous. I know times have changed ..foreign holidays etc but hope Blackpool makes it back
Oh my word, what a bargain. I was expecting it to be far more.
Stayed here twice and absolutely love the place.....couldnt fault anything....so glad you reviewed it....🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes I would stay at this hotel price very reasonable for time of year
Nice hotel that
Hi paul looks grand a bit old fashioned though but nice
Wow yeah l would.💯❗😳❤❤❤❤❤
Hi just subscribed! Have you reviewed the Daishs hotel in Blackpool?
No not yet
Why are there two random glasses in the cupboard instead of stood on the top with the rest of the drinking stuff
Review the Holiday Inn when it opens, think only 3 months off now
Best Hotel on Blackpool old but amazing breakfast was amazing couldn't fault it
Some strange comments here ! Hotel looks dated ? Surely not as it is only 157 years old !!
£52 for 1 person bit expensive
I remember the bibles plus hotels do not have a room number 13
I’m sure I saw you in Llandudno this week?
I was Monday to Wednesday
Love the beautiful old building but the décor needsto be bought up to date especially the rooms if they all similar, modern furniture does not takeaway from the feel of older days gone by if done properly, looks very tired
Im looking bar that breakfasts i remember the stakis breakfast
it's actually St George's channel
Don't get what you mean
I have stayed there in the 50 s it was better then
I spoke to you before pal
WHY do we all go to Spain, well, the WEATHER . Plus peob cheaper in most case;s
Wonder it ain't full of boaties haha
Why are the hotel's in the UK look really old fashioned decor
Not much difference in the weather from benidorm 😂😂😂
I supose with all the diffrent religions we have in the Uk now, put just a bible in the draw and you would get sued for not including every religion. Any one know if this used to be a Butlins hotel years ago
I don't think so but the hotel not far from it The Metropole was a Butlins
That was it i stayed at the Metropole one as a kid they look almost the same from the outside
@@whoknowswhere
shame, i could not understand one word the man ,down in the turkish baths, said
Your the only only that cant
Stayed there in 1977, it was awful.
Nobody ever uses a trouser press…or a kettle…or a biscuit ,we all want just bottled water these days…one day hoteliers will realise this..
Thank you Paul. This is the hotel we stay at every time we visit Blackpool and it always gets a top rating and the staff are always wonderful. Re travel, trams very frequent in both directions and taxis only take minutes to arrive…
I've worked in Travel for well over 40 years. We had a travel conference at the Imperial for a weekend for about 100 of us. I must say it was a beautiful hotel, it has kept its period charm. Very clean, Staff were very welcoming and helpful , Food was great and the function rooms were amazing. I would highly recommend it. Felt very opulent and special.
I was a Police Firearms officer in the late 80s and 90s and the government and opposition held party conference at the Winter Gardens. Their hotel of choice was The Imperial.
Spent many hours wandering the corridors and standing point. Protected many MPs and foreign envoys etc. i always thought the place looked run down and in the kitchens and back of shop areas a tad messy and smelly.. but..what a gorgeous building and very imposing
Great to see it again ❤️
i rember when you have a bible in your room think now cos theres so many diffent cultures im a seaman its the same on ships i work on now no bible
Its like the Titanic decor its absolutely beautiful, i can't believe ive never stayed there.. i will now thanks
What a professional, knowledgeable manager. Most interesting.
A lovely grand place I would stay there, because like you I love stepping back in time.

I love a buffet breakfast. I know a lot of people complain, but it's great for someone like me who can be fussy with food. I know I can exactly what I want on my plate.
I totally agree!
I loved attending functions at the Imperial, it's just as I remember it. Thanks for reminding me of a wonderful place.
Beautiful hotel I love the highly ornate architecture/design of the Victorian era can imagine the exquisite reception bustling with the rich and famous.
The dedication and passion for the restoration of the Turkish baths admirable great historical places are saved. Deffo stay here everything good standard, price excellent, thanks ⭐
