I read to harvest during a thunderstorm. I harvested a reed that was literally touching the tree (during a thunderstorm) and it didn't count. This game is fun but super stupid most times.
Well, these trees are in an area where the wind blows all the time, so you should have pollen everywhere, but that's game logic for you. :)
