Such an interesting concept and I like how the Solo mode is focused on discovery/unlockables instead of 'beat your own score' which would get repetitive. Def keeping an eye out to back this
Thanks, Noir! I took a lot of inspiration from Dorf Romantik when designing the solo mode, I love the gameplay loop of doing the best you could then unlocking things to do better then next time!
Who can be the best one to explain the game that the creator himself? 😁 Amazing work by the way. It seems a really cool game. I never expected to be so interested in a fishing game, you really put a lot of though on it.
Loved the concept of Dredge and Deep Regrets is a kind of Dredge Board game with its own art style and gameplay. I love it and that’s why I back it. Very happy to be part of the journey on board captain ! 🧑✈️
Looks great. And a fantastic video. This is how you promote your own game 👍 Things look rather final, but do you consider making/offering another Solo mode, eg a (simple) beat your own score variant? I like the exploration mode a lot actually but I’d also love to play with most of the multiplayer mechanics.
Dredge the board game, looks fantastic. Backing right away! If i could ask 1 or 2 things (which i will at KS as well), optional asymetric fisher powers (kinda like Hellapagos expansion characters) and madness tracker actually flipping your fisher to the other side for better?/worse?/spookier? powers.
Thanks! Dredge was one of my key influences!! I'm working on potential player powers that would be dealt out at the start and scale based on madness, so that's basically exactly what you're describing! They won't be done for the campaign, but might still get baked into the box before fulfilment!
Love the game, love the concept. Id like to here more about the potential player powers and anything new you'd b coming out with. Will the game be in stores anytime soon and will there be any expansions available for it in stores as well
okay, i was intrigued cause i like good lovecraftian stuffs, and in board games there are not a lot around. but now i am hooked (pun intended). a great card euro with great theme and mechanics, and love that solo mode is half a different game. one of the best explanation videos I have seen btw. nice job on that! the regret moment was a funny idea.
@@tettixgames was more as a general term, as i didnt know what best to call it. at least not ameri or abstract :D. luck can be good if used in a good manner, it makes sense here
Love your games. Me and my daughter had an awesome time with you at UKGE playing hideous Abominations. Deep regrets was fully booked but it sounded amazing. Already fully in on Kickstarter as soon as it released can't wait to play this game.
Looks really fun! I do love a good fishing game and the random benefits and fish every game remind me of roguelikes (lites?) which I love. Happy to be one of the early bird backers! 👾
I really like how the solo mode has you filling out the descriptions of the fish. I do kind of wish that there was a map of some sort where there were locations instead of just depths. Something that made it feel a little more immersive. But I also get it, this seems like a quick dice game and adding locations would make the game much longer.
I was just chatting with someone on BGG who was interested in the same sort of game. It sounds like a really cool idea but I think it's a different game entirely. You could make it!!
Am I missing something, at 19:08 isn't Bert's total score 36 not 37? Bowel Angel (12) + Oarfish (15) + Eyefish (2) + Fair fish in hand (3+3) + Fish bucks (1) = 36
Madness still has an effect in solo mode, you just don't need the tracker to stay on top of it. It's just reflected in the values of Regrets you collect!
Looks really cool! One thing i did not learn is: "why would i abandon ship"? Maybe i missed it, but i rewatched the sea action phase and didnt catch it ^^
Abandoning ship is the hardest decision to make the in the game. The primary benefit is allows you get back to port to mount fish quickly without losing a whole day - which can ultimately mean the difference between winning and losing. But it can also drive your regrets over the line and cost you your most valuable fish so it's about really reading the room to see how other people are doing and taking a chance.
Easily backed! Quick rules question; When removing the highest value fish due to regret, is that highest before the x3 prize catch and madness modifiers, or highest including all that ?
This is actually sick. So it has already achieved the desired support on kickstarter. Does that mean I can buy it like how does kickstarter work cause I need this game asap!
Thanks! So the way Kickstarter generally works with board games is the game is not manufactured until after the campaign concludes - sometimes significantly after - so the company has time to finish it and has the funds to do so. In this case, my aim is to have the games ready for delivery in March and it will be available to purchase in retail a few months after that. So if you want it quicker, your best bet is to support the Kickstarter but if you're okay waiting a bit you can hold out for retail!
Judson Somos fans de tus trabajos saludos desde venezuela , ya con tu juego hideous , tambien con la segunda edición ahora le veremos un vistazo a este. ( espero te acuerdes de nosotros )
I actually talked to the PNP community about this a lot, and there are some complicated elements of the game that make it a very difficult PNP build. The majority of folks concluded it was more complicated than they'd be interested in so I chose not to offer a PNP version. Next time!
Is tucking your card under the player board just for the video or is that what you are supposed to do? I can see it now "Why would you want to cover that beautiful artwork up?!" I get you'll have more room at your table but dang! That art is way too good to cover up! Like for mounting a fish for instance you want that bad boy on full display, you're not gonna have it hidden behind something! Please consided a different alternative for that, it doesnt make since to say it's mounted but you cant see it. Maybe 3 cardboard folded card holders that say (×2 Trophy) (x3 Prize Catch) (x2 Trophy) and you just remove that area on the player boards....just a thought! BEAUTIFUL game though!
Hah, you don't HAVE to, a lot of play-testers will just set it above/below the board in the appropriate spot instead of tucking if there's space. The game is already moving swiftly into production so I can get it into your hands so no opportunity to implement feedback, but thanks for your thoughts anyway!
Nope! I'm running what I'm calling a "slimline kickstarter" - no stretch goals, just making the game premium as intended regardless of the number of backers. And no big bundles, either, just a few add-ons you can tack on if you want. No analysis paralysis, just the game, as intended, ready for your support.
