I continue to be amazed, my wife continues to shake her head, mainly because the last thing I ever need is “a new project”. But darn I gotta do this and probably need 3, 2 as gifts. I’m a plans in the hand guy. Plus it’s my way of showing a little support for the time, effort, and continued creativity 👍🏼 👍🏼
bro this is awesome thanks for doing these vids i alway wanted to things with wood but never understood how untill a few years ago when i found your channel please keep making them. you are a GREAT insiration and show a simple way of doing wood working
This is really cool! My late uncle used to built that style windmill in different sizes. If you’re ever in Weiser Idaho and see one he probably built it.
Amazing. I can't wait to make this. I know this is going to be a HUGE hit. Thank you for sharing and everything you do. I always get so inspired by your videos.
Ok don’t trash me cause I think this is an awesome project!! But for some reason to me it looked like the blades on the windmill looked a little too aggressive at that 45 degree angle. I will make an attempt to build this with a blade angle of some where between 25 -35 degrees because I got curious and looked up the optimal blade angle for windmills and that is what it showed. Awesome video thank you again sir!
great idea, however I will probably add a screen to the bottom of the windmill house to keep the wasps out. i have given up on the 2$ pickets and moved to the 3/4 inch pickets. costs more but are better quality. Here in Florida where I am the 2$ picket s are left outside in the rain
You could shorten the length of the boxes to be about flush with the top part of the box to the legs. Then run slats up the sides as a trellis for a comb box and trellis. As other commenter suggested a bird hose for the top. A three way now.
So cool!! Any idea what these might go for? I know that’s a tough question because it varies by area, but I’m wondering if there is anything on the market similar that could be used as a guide. Like planter boxes + windmill = X
If some stores are starting to short change customers by making their fence pickets thinner… it will throw off all the plans in your shop. Have you considered adjusting the plans you sell to account for that? Like add a second set of measurements just in case someone gets a thinner board?
Oh man...my wife walked by, peaked over shoulder about the time of your reveal.... I start on 4 of these when i get the plans...so SOMEONE will know how far along i am EVERY TIME SHE walks in shop
Another great project, thanks. At -20 this am, it is also a nice reminder spring is coming! A suggestion for the house part…use the small heads finish screws. I find in small pieces, they are less likely to spit the wood. I always seem to remember that right AFTER I spilt a piece! 😂
GREAT project Matthew!
As a Dutchman, I will be installing the "sails" onto the frame so the mill turns counter-clockwise as a Dutch windmill does. 🇳🇱

*Nice Build I'll Give it a Shot!!!*
Enjoy the build!
That might be a hot ticket item. Nice build.
I agree. I think people are going to love it.

I'll be trying this!!!
I think this will do great in my town of Holland. Especially during tulip time.
I have some extra random lumber i was trying to figure out what to make with it. Appreciate the inspiration
Omg if i can seriously make this i would be so amazed with myself. Thank you so much for doing this!
If he can, you can. You don’t even need all those tools.
You can do it!
Amazing. I can't wait to make this. I know this is going to be a HUGE hit. Thank you for sharing and everything you do. I always get so inspired by your videos.
Thank you for another awesome build , your great instructor Matt
I appreciate that!
You always seem to amaze me of what you can do
Man those are some pretty straight fence boards
They were some good ones!
Your so smart. I could use that in my garden.
That's outstanding!!!
Thank you.
Wow, another awesome video, I love it, thank you so much for sharing
Thanks!
That's cool, An FYI, Home Depot here sells 1 x 8 fence pickets 3/4" thick is nice to work with.
They are still pretty cheap too!
Nice!
Awesome! Will you have plans for this?
You could turn the top piece into a birdhouse as an alternative
Or….. change slightly to also be a planter box
Hole in the ROOF
Floor in bottom
Yes!

As always Matt awesome project. What do you think these could sell for? I would not where to price this at.
good job

Wonderful project!! Thanks for the tutorial
Absolutely beautiful and I got to be the first person to comment.
Thank you!

Additional maybe two smaller boxes at the bottom outside for the trellis plants.
love it! thank you!
Wowza , that’s just so cool. Thanks Matthew!😊

I’m also wondering if you could cut a hole in the back and have it also serve as a small bird house.
Love it!
Thanks!!
Matthew, does your fence pickets there have a 'ever so slight curve' to your fence pickets like they are here in NB Canada??
Hey Matt, any thoughts on pricing? Does $180 sound like the right ballpark? Awesome idea!
Got any discount codes for the plans?

Love your stuff. Just so you know, you're having a sound problem.
Love the windmill!! I think I'll make the blades with a 30° miter.😊😊
love the design! but why can't i skip ads? forced to watch long ad videos interrupting your instruction vid will quickly lose me.
