You do know that Zelda games are some of the game changing series in videogame history. A good example was the Ocarina of time, which revolutionized 3d gaming (like the introduction of z-targeting) and it inspired a lot of incoming 3d games. The open world design of the first zelda game is also revolutionary especially to the games today.
tl;dr World without zelda will be different, especially in the videogame industry.

I love nintendo and sony, hate xbox but ps4 has some amazing franchises. Uncharted series, shadow of the colossus, and dark souls.

Majoras mask to me is the best with BOTW close behind, Oot was my first but Majoras stood out more for me
Breath if the Wild is by far one of my favorite games, but I definitely missed some features of the other games. Like what made me fall in love with Twilight Princess when I played it the first time years ago was how I could get an item in dungeons and apply that item to a remote location on the map to open a door or a puzzle, doing the adventuring in the open world made me wish there were actual large scale dungeons that you could accidentally come upon in Breath of the Wild that may or may not have too apply to the story. But having the hook shot or spinner or whatever item to apply to the open world space in the next game is seriously a must, and a story that could be more comparable to Skyward Swords beautiful story.

The 2D game for Breath of the Wild was actually really interesting to hear; I had never thought a 3D cell shaded game like that would start off as something that simple.

No the complaints were that it was too hard so he did this so that they understood the exploration part right off the bat
Man, when the Timeline and Hero's Shade bits were coming up, I felt like it was getting pretty dicey, but I'm happy that they actually kept with the facts. That they didn't say something extra about those subjects other than they are heavily debated within the fanbase made me respect WatchMojo just a little bit more.

On my first day of my Sophomore year I drew Link in my Art Class and my teacher came over and asked if I drew Peter Pan.

About #8, they give some pretty big hints that the guy was the Hero of time, like how he already recognized the Green garment, fact he has a wolf form (which is the hero's form in animal shape), and just by how he addresses link. But it's nice to have it confirmed here.
I like these facts, I didn't know most of them. Anyone know where the latest game fits in the timeline? My guess is the timeline when Ganon is defeated when Link is older due to the Koroks being there.

When they say that it originally was named "Hyrule Fantasy" - they show a cover with the Japanese text "ゼルダの伝説" which directly translates to "Legend of Zelda"... Although the small English caption says "Hyrule Fantasy". I still perceive the main title as "Legend of Zelda"!

Since Link as a Wolf can be summoned into Breath of the Wild as a helper, those two Links have met too. So it's not the only time that Links met each other. However Link from Twilight Princess is interestingly involved in both of those meetings.
When I first pulled that master sword in Oot, I almost shat my pants.
While it is reasonably well known, I would have thought that WM would have covered the "Chris Houlihan Room" in LttP.

The Hero of Time will always be the definitive Link to me, wish we got another game, whether it shows how he became the shade or an alternate one

The last time I played a "Legend of Zelda" game was when the GameBoy was at the height of it's popularity. Wow that was so long ago.

Zelda 3 (SNES) didn't require you to use the sword either. You had to collect it at the start of the game to continue, but you could easily loose it on purpose by finding a monster that would eat your sword/shield & getting attached.
Fun fact: It's a good game.

uh, time travel isn't really exclusive to scifi at this point anymore... Flash can do it by running really fast, and weiss from dragon ball super uses some kinda divine magic to do it (technically he just rewinds time, but i count it as time travel), and plent of other characters have done it by non-scifi means.

What is the best Legend of Zelda game, and why?
Facts Box the games are too different to compare, in my opinion. My favorite top down is links Awakening for it's interesting story, my favorite classic 3d is oot 3d for it's simplistic story that has aged well. My favorite overall is botw right now for it's fully expensive world that has thousands of things to do once you start
OoT. Because it has the best story imo, the best music, dungeons, it is the most inmersive one (besides. Botw) I loves the link/zelda relation and it just works. All the other zeldas I have played (TP, Skyward sword, a link to the past, wind waker) are all amazing and I like OoT just for a bit more. Although I'm playing Botw and its just AMAZING and I haven't completed it yet, but it is a though contestant with OoT for the first spot imo
My personal favorite is Majora's Mask. Although, in my opinion, the best game in the series objectively is either A Link to the Past, or Ocarina of Time. I have a soft spot for Ocarina of Time, so I'm a little biased with it, since that one was my first. Also, in my opinion, Ocarina of Time is objectively the best video game of all time, mainly because of how well it transitioned from 2D to 3D and kept its formula and greatness as a series.
Other reasons why I think Ocarina of Time is the best, is many of the same reasons A Link to the Past is so great. The dungeons, the characters, the overworld, the final battle with Ganon. All such great moments and pieces of an amazing adventure. The ways that Ocarina of Time stand out to me though, is through its more immersive story, Link connecting to the various races in Hyrule, as well as the Gerudo, who bore Ganon. It's hard to believe that there's video game that feels more like an adventure than A Link to the Past, but Ocarina of Time feels completely perfect.
Each game is so unique they all are _the best_ at something compared to their brethren. Including their own directions of symbolism.
The best one is Ocarina of Time. And by that I mean the _most important_ and is the default mental image for the franchise. It balances between linear story and wide exploration for fans as those two directions are usually the main ones fans will argue preference for. Was the series's stepping stone into 3D and designed more 3D programming staples for future games than Mario 64 (main one being lock on enemy mechanic). Fleshed out Hyrule and the characters well (mostly). Dungeons are good. Most items are fun. It is the focal point in the timeline. The series has most of its fans in their 20s and 30s so it is a _major_ nostalgia hit with all other games being compared to it. Plus, it's a coming of age kinda story. It's got it's pedestal. Rightfully earned for its legacy, but it still is on a pedestal.
Facts Box i would have to say Twilight Princess because it has an amazingly epic and tragic story. As well as it being one of the most deep and serious zelda tales (2nd to majoras mask) it has by far the best companion, midna. She isn't a static character like navi or fi. She grows with link as well as changes her mind about the world of light and link himself. Her character design is almost flawless. This is proven by the departure test. Which is if or when the character dies or leaves we are saddened by it and lets face it, we all wanted to cry when she left. While its story is a bit out there it wasnt afraid to do that. It added more perspective on the lore of hyrule and that there are other worlds that the goddesses created. Say what you will about it but i must say that Twilight Princess would have to be the best for me as well as it being my personal favorite. Please like this comment if you agree.
