Geraldine Jones arrives at the gym of Joe, famous QB guest star. She's applying for a training position, after all she's very experienced in physical culture
My dear friend your line was simply brilliant thank you for the laugh it just made my immune system a hell of a lot stronger I’d like to buy you a drink
Flip Wilson is a icon! He can never be replaced! So sad that he died so young! He makes a great Geraldine Jones! He looks so good as a girl! He will be missed!!
Geraldine is perfection. This skit was hilarious, I bet Flip added a few extra laughs to crack Joe up. And who are the 23 trolls who didn't like our favorite 70s diva?
I NERVER EVER MISSED THIS SHOW AND REMEMBER THIS SKIT ON TV.....SO FUNNY HILLARIOUS AND JUST KEPT ON LAUGHING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SEGMENT! GERALDINE , WHO SAID YOU COULD CALL ME GERALDINE??? Miss JONES TO YOU HONEY!
All I can say is back in the day, Broadway Joe was FINE! (And check out that package - as Geraldine would say: "Honey, from this view, you must be delivering for Fed Ex!")
Flip was AWESOME--it's a shame that a lot of younger people don't know about him--he was a brilliant comedian (or should I say comedienne LOL!!) Best part of this sketch is Namath--he's a great sport and it looks like he's having a lot of fun playing along with Flip!!
This classic " Geraldine " made Flip a SUPERSTAR! In 1970 Flip Wilson was the 1st PERSON of color to be on the COVER of TIME Mag. !! True story! He was a wonderful comic! George Carlin was a close friend of Flip too! I am now 54 and remember watching this classic show with Nick Sr. and he was a rough bastard to me most of the time..( he was out of my life when I was 14)..*..but MY best memories of my father , were when he would LAUGH is east coast hardy laugh ( born in Boston Mass.).... laugh his ass off, he was happy for that moment and that always made me happy as an 8 year old..then " All in the Family' and the " Dean Martin Roast"" as I got older....Flip Wilson had Namath rolling here! Beautiful memories for me!

If you notice, the Geraldine character was the most flirtatious character in television history LOL. She knew how to whip it! Mr. Wilson did leave a daughter that looks a lot like him. I still miss this man; he bought us so much joy and laughter . My mother, father, sisters and brothers would all wait for this show and I'd hold off on a date so as not to miss it. It was always rumored that Mr. Wilson was also one of the nicest people around. I love him. RIP
My cousin said he was one of the nicest people she had ever met!! While waiting for my Aunt to come to the bar from their hotel suite, and empty seat next to my cousin became available at the bar! My cousin was about 37 blond sexy as all get out and loved talking w Flip after he introduced himself to my cousin in about 1971! They spoke for a while in fact until my cousin had to leave but before she left he asked her for her phone number!!! And she said NO!!!!!! UGH!! SO DISAPPOINTED WHEN SHE SAID THAT.........
@@henry12397 Ha ha. Well, ca cera cera on that lol. When I was 7 or 8 my sister took me to see him (his jokes were that clean). He made it big after that great show. He is missed.
I love that he played Geraldine with dignity. 'Her' clothes were always fashionable and coordinated. The funny thing is, Flip made a pretty good woman and he played it straight. I'll bet that lead to some nervous laughs from guests! Flip Wilson was a genious. Geraldine (Flip) was sexy, confident and funny as anything without being profane. Today's comics could learn something from him.
No one comedian ever made me laugh like Flip did....I love comedians ...all of them!!! But Flip was the one who made me laugh out loud! He was sensational....A Killer comedian!!!!!!!
I remember The Flip Wilson Show so well even though I was a small child. Geraldine was my ultimate favorite!!!! I even had the Flip Wilson/Geraldine doll that talked........great memories. PS - Geraldine was a fashion icon! She was always sharp!
Flip Wilson was so funny , Joe was laughing all through this. I remembered when this first aired , laughed just as hard watching this again , love Joe then & now 💚❤

When I saw Mr. Wilson in person it was just his regular stand up comedy. It was a few years before he went to television. A lot of fine, great comedians were found in the late sixties. :)
Geraldine had it going on! Lol. This too was our family night and when Flip Wilson came on, our dates could NOT take us out til this was over. Then we would go out for 2 hours because I worked. Life and television was soooo good!

I remember seeing this when it was first broadcast, and I remember Joe laughing. Well, can you blame him? I admire Flip Wilson for not cracking up, too. He has marvelous composure. And he's actually a very good actor/female impersonator. I've seen sassy women just like that. Excellent!
Oh my gosh! I haven’t seen Geraldine since I was a kid! Loved this then and loved it now! Hilarious. I’m 55 and I remember my parents thinking she, oops, I mean HE was great.

Joe didnt stand a chance , holding in his laughter
Joe could run down a football field but Geraldine just disabled him with her jokes.
I always remember him busting out laughing during that skit- that was just as funny as Geraldine’s lines!
Flip Wilson was one of the most brilliant comedians of all time.
I definitely agree he was in the top 5. He was absolutely crazy!
Miss Geraldine, she and Madea would have made a great movie
I wrote him a fan letter in 4th grade and he sent me an autographed picture
No doubt about it!
Yes, he was fantastic. His show should have never ended.
