This is such a helpful series. With 3 of Swords, I was thinking it could also be how we think about and process grief in our lives, and oftentimes tell ourselves a certain story or narrative that heaps more pain on pain, a blame game, guilt - like we're torturing ourselves, piercing our hearts more deeply so to speak. Thank you for making. Very interesting 😉!
Thank you for elaborating on the three. I have always wondered what the heartbreak in the swords would be. Didn’t even occur to me that it was brought on by the mind. Duh. Thanks so much! Love your series!
So in the very beginning of this video you speak about how you feel about the results of the elections in 2016. May I say you predicted what was going to happen as the result of this man becoming the president of the USA. Something tells me you did a reading about how the USA was going to be affected with that guy and his cronies being in power. You nailed it. Please forgive me if I am assuming stuff about you. Thank you for the series of the Tarot minor arcana suits. As usual it is a delight to listen to your voice, your musings and impressions about Tarot and divination. :)
31:46 Ha ha ha ha ha, it's a habit! Not someone who is typically into tarot but I enjoy listening to your interpretations. To me it just feels like you're reciting a lot of universal life lessons.
Absolutely love your vids! Find them very helpful and really relaxing to listen to. You have a lovely voice and it's like listening to a friend talking you thru the cards😊 Thank you💗
You can talk all night as far as I'm concerned! :) I loved this informative, authentic video and I look forward to the next one. Thank you for sharing.
You probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Harlem Joey I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thank you so much for this. You solved my issue with the three...."bashing the mind and the heart together" really makes this card make much more sense.
Thank you for a truly interesting video. It's not easy to give positive meanings to cards that are often seen as negative. Thank you for including the court cards as well. I enjoyed your perspective and look forward to your video's on the other suits. Safe travels.
The irony of this being 7 years ago and you start out the video about being down in regard to the election results. And me also remembering that horrifying time 😫 and now here we are again having to worry about the same thing AGAIN! 😭
People repress what they know or what they've seen or what they've been told all the time! Enacting those deletions/redactions of memory is as common as having lunch for most folks, just so they can tolerate doing their jobs, caring for their families, and keeping on keeping on. Sometimes the emotional wear and tear of doing these deletions is really grave, resulting in neurosis, sometimes it just makes us secretly ashamed, and often it just makes life temporarily *much easier* than if we pay attention to all that painful/irritating/embarrassing stuff that keeps happening to us day in and day out. It's only occasionally that we can't unsee what we've seen, and then that really hurts and confuses us. Therein lies very strong incentive for chemical readjustment, homemade or doctor supplied. This is why sometimes people get really upset with readings, not necessarily because the reader messed up, but because the reading hit too close to the hideous truth to be tolerated by the querent. But much of the time their defenses are strongly built, and information all goes by unseen and unrecognized, because not seeing is the way that life is best lived for so many people.
On the 7 of swords, its really fascinating to me (avoiding "interesting" hehe) when you spoke on matching it to the suit, and then mention intellectual property theft. Apologies in advance for a ramble-y story! Before that though, thank you so much for making these videos. I really enjoy your perspective and approach. As someone pretty new to Tarot, your insights and techniques are really so helpful So, early on in doing readings I had a 3 card spread for the day. I'd have to look in my journal for what the other card was and the exact intentions were for each position, but the one was the Emperor, and the one was 7 of swords. I understood emperor as needing to take charge and structure my work flow (I have a small business making jewelry) because I was compromising on work structure and overwhelmed with getting things done in a chaotic manner. The 7 of swords confused me at the time. I tried to reflect onto myself and thought perhaps I was feeling "dishonest/illegitimate" as a small business owner by not having it all together, or afraid to face the music and taking responsibility back into control. However, it still didn't sit quite right or "click" when I was journaling. Later that night I got home from my night job and felt like looking at something on my phone and long story short, found out another jewelry maker had stolen my images and was marketing a few of my pieces as her own original work! Even lifted some of my written descriptions. I was floored, first because of shock someone was doing that behind my back but also ran right back to my deck and studied the card again finally feeling like I understood why it showed up that day. I don't really approach Tarot as predictive, but that was a surreal moment for sure with that card for me. Of course, I had to go in to emperor mode and drop the emotional chaos, gain control and take authority/leadership to solve the situation logically (and I did :) ).
+Jay Cuneo Oh man! That is an amazing story. I only recently started thinking about the card that way, so it's fascinating--that story seems like exactly the right example. Thanks for watching the videos--let me know if I can help you in any way! I'm here for ya.
Thank you :) Its definitely something that I had to sit with and wrap my head around haha I know the worlds a little weird right now, but just know there's a big community of support out there. We'll make it through.
44:44 I don't quite see it as gender stereotypes but perhaps more energetically. A masculine or feminine energy. We all have both. But it's interesting what happens when they are in synch, and not in synch. From what I'm able to understand tarot kind of seems to be illustrating the many different kinds of energies in the world, how they can be used both positively and negatively, as well as with both grounded and ungrounded intent. Nothing is good or bad, it simply is. We put the labels on them. Anyways, love your readings man!
For u to consider: Hod-Thought. Yes it's called Splendor (or Majesty), but those are just names. Consider that it exists in relation to Netzach-Passion/Relationship . The reason Hod is a trap is because it is undiluted, unchecked categorization; categorization without reference to or concern for the wholistic nature of space. It is pure linear thinking, the result of which is the creation of an infinite number of unrelated, unconnected, isolated boxes. Nothing exists in a vacuum...Hod does not see the bigger picture. Once, however, we are able to merge intellect with relationship we get Yesod #9, which is FEELING. NOTE THAT I DID NOT USE THE WORD EMOTION. FEELING is wholistic, whole-brained, embodied thought. Ya? So again, Hod traps us bc it does not value? relationship or context or relativity.
+Jay Edward Thanks! It's so literally mind boggling for me, the Kabbalistic associations. I have to read each sentence 10 or 12 times before meaning starts to emerge. I need Kabbalah for Dummies. 😜
Tom Benjamin I'm gonna go out on a thin limb and say that Kabbalah itself is over intellectualized. Kind of like Hod. In the end, it's just one culture's attempt to explain the inexplicable...it isn't necessarily true. Some things don't make sense to us, bc they don't make sense, not bc we can't understand them. I recommend studying the Tao. THAT is a philosophical view of the Unknowable that makes the most sense to me. Maybe it would to you too. At any rate. I enjoy ur videos...they ALWAYS stimulate much thought for me.
Tom Benjamin I want amend something I said bc I think it sounded "bad": I don't think Kabbalah is over intellectualIZED...I think it' is, itself, the quintessence of over-analysis. There's a concept called Independent Co-arising that states, basically, that nothing has any existence apart from the infinite series of causal factors that led up to its appearance/occurrence...so the kind of dissection that Kabbalah is famous for, feels like mistaking the suit for the man...to me. I wanted to correct that bc I always think you're going to think I'm disrespecting YOU and nothing could be further from the truth. I think you're brilliant and I learn so much from your videos. Every single time.
+Jay Edward Thanks for that! Totally didn't think you were being disrespectful! I enjoy talking about these things. And I agree, the traditions Tarot emerge from are, in my humble opinion, steeped in over intellectualization. From my reading about them, part of the POINT of these systems was to keep people out of them. So I think they're overly complex by design. Which is fine, I suppose, but if enlightenment is available only to the elite, it's no better than trickle down economics--again in my opinion. (There's also a degree to which modern Kabbalah is cultural appropriation in a bad way, and that makes me uncomfortable.) One reason I've responded to Buddhist thinking is that I actually kind of get it, which seems like the point, right? These systems are meant to make life bearable by ordering chaos. That all said, I do love that in Kabbalah, letters and numbers are literally magical entities. As a writer, that makes me happy. ;-) (Thanks for all your kind words!!! Really, truly!!)
RWS imagery is extremely limiting....there really should not be an inherent negative or positive meaning ascribed to a card....or a suit. Ten of swords or air can indicate nirvana just as well as mental anguish or ruin. I'm at the point where pips are so much more freeing and intuitive. It seemed appropriate for you to ruminate over mental anguish given your emotional reaction to the 2016 election. Hugs to you.
Yum... Vodka....I like how this was done. I love your interpretation of the 7 of swords it was interesting lolol .There is a book called the Qabalistic Tarot by Robert Wang..you might want to check it out if you haven't already
Great video...as always! Lots to think about. One of the things I tend to forget to do is to bring it all back to the suit, so I'm definitely going to focus on that. And...ya...I'm having a shitty week too. Part shell shock, part outrage, part fear, part hope...I'm not sure. I'm still processing it. What I will not do is silently shuffle back to the 1950s. We've worked too hard...as individuals, as a community, as a nation. Anyway, I have some thoughts on Kabbalah I'd like to share once I've fully recovered my mind. Be safe traveling.
I remember that night in 2016 and I was filled with the worst dread since Reagan and the Cold War. I too have life long anxiety disorder. The Sword suit never worked for me as far as the elements. This video helped me understand them better. I'll probably watch it again with pen and paper!
Christ that was the ONLY time he mentioned it. & I don’t care you left it 2yrs ago…..considering trumper dumps had JUST gotten elected…..his reaction was more than warranted 🙄🤧
I can't stop watching this series so much valuable perspective and knowledge.WOW! Powerful statement Failure is data
Period! I now watch them with my tarot deck and an open notebook and pen to take notes. Love him! 💕
These are the most helpful, informative and educational tarot videos on RUclips.

I already loved you for so many reasons but the random Amadeus reference really sent me over the edge today!

Yup! I'm a big fan of neutrality in all the cards, because they go where they need to!
