    I'll admit that I don't know much about Leo and I don't know about track and field, but it just seems to me that if this guy would strap on some shoulder pads and put on a helmet, he could be of huge help to the Longhorn football team or an NFL team for that matter.

    ngl they really should look into switching the 1500 out in the decathalon.. maybe add in weight throw or 200m but its really embarrassing for distance running to watch this.

    • @denjx_noah
      @denjx_noah 6 месяцев назад +79

      I disagree, the 1500m being in the decathlon makes the whole event the most complete and challeging possible from every standpoint, taking out the 1500 would get rid of most of the endurance component of the decathlon. And since the decathlon as an event is meant to be a pure test of athleticism, it is important to have events that cover every type of athleticism. I say this as a decathlete myself, and I don't mind giving it my all in the 1500m even though it is not my strongest event.

    • @jonahmays

      Yeah I think it should stay

    • @VeridicusMaximus
      @VeridicusMaximus 6 месяцев назад +15

      Absolutely not! There is already two sprint events (100m and 110mH). Not to mention the scoring tables favor the speed events and the jumps over throwing and others. Never add the 200m. This is supposed to be an ALL AROUND event.

    • @MaLanick87
      @MaLanick87 6 месяцев назад +16

      I don't think you have understood what the decathlon is all about... It is about who is the best allrounder and that includes distance running as well. It is not about who is the best in every single event and who can compete with the specialists. That would be impossible. Nobody can be on an expert level in every single event and I also don't get why that is supposed to be "embarressing"... They are still pretty good, even at their weaker events...
