I think the bewear will be taken by aether foundation which will be motivation for team rocket to help heroes and with their strong pokemon we can exptect team rocket to help a lot and i think they could make bewear face off against ultra beast inorder to protect team rocket in UB Arc.
This is just what i would expect from this show.

This episode hit me so hard when I first watched it. My dog was getting old and really slow down, while my cat was still young. They both got along fine and all.
Sadly my dog passed away early this year and I always just think of this episode. My dog lived a long and great life :)

Am I the only one here who thinks that Pokemon heroes: Latias and Latios was the saddest there has been?
Like, Celebi NEARLY died in Pokemon 4Ever and everyone cried, but Latios gave it's life saving the city and not one tear was shed. This episode was also sad and brought the darkness back to Pokemon. Shoutout to Latios though, my fav Pokemon of all time

Nah, the episode where Jessie and James release their Arbok and Weezing is still the saddest, in my opinion. They were criminals, but even they didn't want their pokemon to suffer under the hands of a ruthless poacher. I thought it was amazing how they actually tried to take on a freakin' Tyranitar with their bare hands just so they could buy time for their pokemon to leave, getting completely thrashed in the process. The fact that Arbok and Weezing didn't want to abandon their trainers made their departure even sadder as they fled into the forest with tears streaming out their eyes as they listened to their trainer's cries of pain. Makes me cry every time.

Taylor T It is not Sadder because you dont have any emotional attachment to that stoutland or litten. The release of Arbok and Weezing is sadder because you can relate to it as you've seen them with team rocket from the start and are forced to separate after a long journey together.
But Jessie and James were failures and their pokemon weren't that strong. You're introduced to the Litten in Sun and Moon earlier and eventually this happens. At least from what I heard.
Mika PM being failures as trainers doesn't mean anything. Someone can be a failure of a trainer but still care for their Pokemon.
For me this is the saddest but does anyone else remember the episode with lonely Espurr waiting for the return of that old lady who turns out to be long gone...
Or the episode where Dustox does not want to leave Jessie for shiny male Dustox and Jessie breaks Dustox's pokeball while saying "now there is no pokeball for you to return to" since Jessie wanted Dustox to not repeat the same mistake she did when she lost the boy she loved before she could have confessed...
Charmander: Has been abandoned by his trainer and left dying.
Chimchar: Has been pressured by his trainer who was extremely abusive towards him and abandoned him later.
Tepig: Has been abandoned by his trainer and left starving.
Litten: Had an ill friend (parental figure?) who died.
Cyndaquil: Lol, no sad story, no fucks given
He was constantly chased by Ash lol no that's not bad
Dont forget Torkoal who was bullied almost to death in the Valley of Steel
Meanwhile in America we refuse to teach kids about death and loss until they're already at the school shooter age.

American kid shows and movies do address death. Sesame Street, Lion King, Bambi, Charlotte's Web, and even the 1980's transformers among others all deal with loss of someone you love. Lots of books kids read also have themes of loss. Death might not always be theme in every form of kids media, but when is it included, it's almost always done right. Besides, parents and life ends up teaching kids about death anyway. Growing up, lots of kids lose their grandparents and my entire school supported a student when his mom died of cancer.

Actually I believe that stoutland was dying of old age.
My fan character Phoebe who is an Arcanine is very wise and very old and I'm writing a fan character about her final days, a few months ago she had given birth to Roxie a Growlithe, Phoebe is a very beautiful Arcanine with a huge heart of steel and has respected her trainer for years since she was a young weak juvenile growlithe but she is on her final legs...

Sad, but a lot of older episodes are really emotional too. Butterfree's goodbye, Ash's team huddling together to survive the blizzard, Meowth's back story, Mewtwo and Amber, Ash and Pikachu protecting each other in the first episode, etc. The original series was full of moving stories like this.

No trainer wanted him, and he lived in an area where it was hard for a small pokemon to find food.
He learned to speak as a human just to be accepted by his love, who turned him down hard.
Then he became a "friend" of Giovanni, only to be tossed aside and sent away when he didn't evolve into a Persian.
He's treated like a freak by humans and pokemon, and is stuck with Team Rocket whether he likes it or not now because he has nowhere else to go.
This episode made me tear up and weep a little because, I used to have a border collie named Lassie. She was a loyal smart and kind dog, she was there for me through out the worst times with me and she lived a long life but one day, she was getting sick and did not take medications anymore so one day in 2016 we had to put her down so she would not be in pain anymore. Sorry if this was too long I just had to tell you this true story of mine. But this episode reminded me of what it was like to lose a very close friend and family member of mine.

The day I watched this episode was the day my Dog passed away, I got a call about about 2 hours after watching the episode and I was broken for a full week.....
Hopping on this a bit late...but I feel you so much. Last August I lost my little bud who grew up alongside with me and this whole scenary put me through that again. I'm sorry for everyone's losses.

Back in the day, the saddest thing in Pokemon was the flashback of Mewtwo growing inside his tank and making friends with Ai. This was initially not released in America and was censored. Besides the part cut from the movie, there was also an audio drama on CD.
Ai was the daughter of Dr. Fuji, the head scientist in charge of the Mew cloning project. She had died very young. He had agreed to work on the project for Team Rocket as a way to access the research and resources needed in order to attempt to bring his daughter back to life through the cloning process. His desperation was so intense and his pursuit so obsessive that his wife left him. After that, Dr. Fuji had nothing left to live for except his work.
It turns out that Ai two is actually the latest in a series of failed cloning attempts. Each clone before has died after a few years.
As Mewtwo and Ai (really Ai two) were growing in their tanks, a young Mewtwo was able to communicate with her through his psychic abilities. They became each other's friends, with Ai being almost like a big sister. They talked about why they were born, why they exist. Mewtwo found happiness in existing through her. But as with all the other Ai clone attempts, Dr. Fuji could not keep her viable. Mewtwo can psychically feel her fading as she shares her final words with him. She dies, leaving Mewtwo alone and in despair.
It's sad how much people dont know about this...

the episode quality has gradually gone up. Roughly a bit faster than what dragon ball super has been in since the dreadful episode 5.
One thing Dragon Ball Super can't be redeemed for, is their disappointing animation studio Toei Animation.

I'm glad I'm not I the only one who wasn't crazy about XY. The characters were boring. Team rocket was unfunny. The anime was just to bit too serious. I admit the battles, animation, and the Team Flare arc were on point! However, the glaring lack of humor was hard not to notice. Don't hate, just my opinion. At least the SM anime is lighting things up a bit!
I just wish they stuck with the original art style, I don't normally have an issue with stuff like that but for some reason it's too jarring for me.

Mic Mic I really liked the art direction on sun and moon its rounded and simple so the animation is good even when theres no pokemon battles. Previous pokemon art style has too many edges and corners.

the stoutland was homeless, got sick while homeless, suffered while homeless and unloved, then found help when it was finally too late.
even sadder is that now litten is on ash's team whom gets close to winning the big leagues but then loses time after time. then litten will get sent to Prof Oak to never see ash again when he sets off to another region.

Makes me sad to see this. My dog that passed away last week happened to be a Yorkshire terrier, looked very similar to stoutland. I've gotta see this episode in full sometime. It's nice to see that they deal with more serious topics in the show sometimes.

Awwwwww... [wipes away tears]. What a moving story! I don't think I've cried over a Pokemon tale like that since the anime's early days. Back then, we saw some real tearjerkers attached to certain characters. Charmander, Meowth, James... Then those kinds of stories seemed to fade away for a while, but now they're slowly coming back. Keldeo was kinda bittersweet, but "Origins" and its Cubone episode practically ripped my heart out and stomped on it! Really looking forward to this new one when it shows up on Disney XD this fall.

So this can only mean that he is just old and his time has come. And pokemon also die in the games. You can't see them die but in every game there's a pokemon graveyard and the trainers you battle always say "I come here everyday to see my beloved ..."
There is a pokemon cemetery so I'm pretty sure Pokemon do die just not in game like Fire Emblem.

This episode hit me hard because my grandma died from the same thing, but by choice to try and keep someone because she thought he would leave her otherwise. When she passed everyone thought it was time to let her go, and when we asked her if it was okay she sighed.
Pokemon really hit me in the gut.
If it wasn't for the new artstyle, I probably would have died from sadness. However, the artstyle just weakens the impact of these serious moments. It's sort of like using false swipe on a Pokèmon with low HP; It is weakened severely, but it didn't finish it off.
This is exactly what I mean, the art-style is more fit for comedic services, and doesn't really impact that emotional feel, ya know?
That's exactly my problem with Star Wars Rebels. "Childish" Artsyle can't get the full impact on you.
Does it really make a difference on how the art looks like? I honestly don't know what's so disappointing in it just cause it changed. There's no way that the art can have an impact in how the serious moments are
GhostLK For many people it's indeed important how the artstyle looks. In serious/sad moments you just need an art style that can transport all these feelings to the viewers and cartoonish, round, child friendly artsyles are in my opinion inferior to more realistic, gritty artsyles when it comes to that.

If we somehow got to know Stoutland on personal level, like Ash with Butterfree, then it would have been the saddest. But losing a friend is always sad. Damn it Pokemon Company you can do better.
The funny part about the "personal level" comment is that both Butterfree and Litten/Stoutland appeared at the start and both had a sad episode on episode 21. So it's still the same personal level.

i enjoy sun and moon but XY&Z just felt like a huge step foward from animation, sound and story along with ashs character development witch i really enjoyed.
Footde Coulde x and y had its moments but much of the animation was stiff and lifeless, but Sun and Moon is very very fluid the, faces are more expressive, and the fights repeatedly impress me with the displays of fluid animation and at least for me it makes Sun and Moon a much more charming watch than anything since gen 4, at least for me anyways.

I know right? Hopefully the XY&Z animations continue in Sword and Shield. Sun and Moon was nice with its comedic tone, but moving forward I would prefer a more serious journey once again as before.

After watching Moana, I learnt to love the Pokémon Sun and Moon even more! The Hawaiian culture is so moving, it's refreshing and I love the direction they took with this series and the game.

What was done particularly well outside of the excellent chronography of this episode, was the nature of death itself - Rather than heroic sacrifices or a highly melodramatic way of going out (sickness for instance), death in SM is nothing but the cycle of life itself - for about everyone, dying (whenever themselves or their family members) is nothing more than a quiet, fairly uneventful end, of nobody's fault but time itself.
And then how to accept and cope with death itself for those who still had to go on - rather than clinging onto sadness, or intentionally trying to omit it, wholeheartedly accept that it has to be this way, but properly expressing your grief and let others help you into facing the inevitable and move on, SM021 truly told a touching story about something everyone had to witness or has witnessed, and told a story in how to face death itself in a healthy way.

Litten has been a favorite ever since it was introduced in Sun and Moon. He's so cute, and cool. The perfect mix. After seeing this episode, it made my heart sink. This thought came back up after a hard day at my new job, and I couldn't bear it. I cried on the way home.
I want to try watching the entire series just to see Litten again.

Oh man, Lucario was the hardest one for me, he's my second favorite Pokémon so that biased part also made it even harder.

Just casually watching Pokémon SuMo anime. I don't exactly remember what I was thinking but I was worried about Stoutland when he started coughing. They got to the Pokémon center. It didn't have any illnesses but I was still worried. The leaves falling down meant something. Time froze for a split second, remembering what my mother watched, it was a man cursed and a tree. I began understanding what the tree and leaves falling meant. That film had an happy end, but anyway I saw the last leaf fall from the tree. I started crying imeaditly (forgot to spell). There weren't any scenes where the dead Stoutland was, but it was still very sad. I still watched the entire episode though.

Mew vs Mewtwo wasn't sad for me for some odd reason, probably because I didn't really like Ash, haha. For the Charizard's goodbye, I was both pissed and sad though... it hit the spot in as many ways possible.

I want to cry just from hearing your summary of the episode - sounds almost as sad as Pikachu loosing Ash in the first movie. I think this is a good episode for kids, especially for those going through the stages of grief. When given a platform like this, the producers should definitely use it to teach children valuable lessons they'll carry on with them to adulthood. If you try, you can find purpose in the pain...
