Great tutorial! I just hope one day JLR will include a dedicated start button on the key fob. I willing to bet more people would use that than the “light” button that is there. I’m sure the last thing many of us need in this day and age is yet another app to drain our phone batteries and eat up data/memory space.

What he didn’t mention is this app feature is free for the 1st year and has a annual fee.
But why you didnt tell that it cost 79$ a year in usa. Othervise you can not use it.

still cheaper than jeep I gad a Cherokee prior to my Range rover and with Jeep it cost me 128 per year
So we jumped from download the app to its open and connected to the car. The part you left out is exactly why I’m here.

Hello. When I press the start bottom on my iPhone, I get an error message that says unable to start due to an open window. I checked and doubled checked all windows and they’re all closed. I hope someone can help. Thank you.

@@arnoldochoa9148 Hi- I did not get an answer. I had to drive to dealership and they re-programmed windows. It worked fine after that. Good luck!
I honestly prefer a keyfob remote start is that an option?

Well you can do this from any distance unlike the key fob
@@ikbev I also prefer it on the fob. I don’t need to remote start my car from the next city, just my living room or kitchen. And in this day and age who needs another app eating up memory and storage space on their phone. It would be a pain to download yet another app for one feature that competitors offer on the fob.
Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, Acura, Lincoln, Cadillac, Maserati and Genesis all offer remote start from the fob. Hopefully the Brits will soon. Just my thoughts. 🤷♂️
@@perezsykes3803 there’s nothing better than sitting in your office in the topmost floor and starting your car, setting the temp of your desire and taking your time to get there. You can’t do that with the key fob. Don’t knock it till you try it
My app doesn’t even work on my brand new iPhone. It will do everything but start the vehicle. I have to use my husbands android to start my car. It’s very frustrating

I got velar 2021 this feature is not working!! I can’t even start engine by car remote!!
I tried this on my 2019 evoque and it didn’t work... it gives me an error message.

Don’t forget the 100 pages that u need to click accept and read through pointless shit just to start your car when dodge and other companies add it on a key fob lol, btw I’m a rover owner and didn’t know you can even use remote start and the app is annoying
