The majestic Ostrich, they sleep at the dunes and appear as a bush from the distance. Very large bird. Very aggressive with beak and it appears they avoid sitting in the water, unlike the duck. All these things I have learned. Next I will observe the bovine who loiter endlessly around the water hole. They remain there unchallenged until the mighty giraffe enters the scene for a quenching, at which time all the creatures make haste. All this at a single water hole.
Very interesting webcam. I have a question, Since you have water, Why don't you plant Moringa oleifera trees in the area? They withstand the heat very well and do not require much water. Besides their leaves are very nutritious and most importantly they would create semi-shade where other plants could grow and make a more pleasant place for the local fauna.
Man made. Built in 2006, the special character of this waterhole, has not only an impact on the surrounding wildlife, but stretches across the globe, from home to home. This particular waterhole is situated within an open plain, 8km from Namib Desert Lodge. A solar-powered borehole fills a nearby reservoir and is monitored by a water float that opens as the waterhole’s levels decline.
They are so adorable. Growing so quickly.
The chicks have certainly grown. So very cool to see them. 💗
So nice to see they're all still there but with their attentitive parents they are safe 🤗
The chicks are so cute, thanks for sharing.

Those bovine you see loitering around the water hole are Oryx a type of antelope
@@NickLeeds Antelope are bovine so no need for quotation marks.
An ostrich family outing.....how cool

Is that in the wild? Wow!
It must have been raining recently I have never seen this much greenery in the desert around the water hole.
Are there two separate 'families' or groups each with own parents and children?
Lmao the beginning I thought was a turn table
Strangest looking water hole I've ever seen
Adorable sighting what were those small birds flying around?
grey-backed sparrow-larks
I can identify with the little ostrich chick to get to the water last.
Let me roll in the mud & get dirty now; then I can clean up afterwards 😁
Wasps?
Very interesting webcam.

Sounds like a good way to destroy local ecosystem
Because introducing plants and or animals where they don't belong
Is not a good idea ...history has shown us this, time for you to now learn it
I'm new to the page. Is this a natural spring someone has reinforced or is it a man made waterer, please?

@@NamibiaCam Awesome!

Are those small birds queleas or sparrows?
The adults didn't drink. !?
Which is the animal drinking water at 1:50?
That's a Springbok - beautiful isn't it
What is that noise around 15:10?
Sounds like the wind.
