Sig M17 Proforce Review - Airsoft Compared to the Real Deal

  • I do a quick review of the Sig M17 Proforce airsoft gun compared to the P320 firearm version. The M17 is the military version of the P320 and Sig has made its own airsoft version of the pistol.
All items were cleared prior to filming. Remember always follow the rules of firearms safety.

Thank you so much for the review!! My dad has an M17 P320 gun and he's getting me the airsoft version. Love your channel and I was your 15th sub btw. Stay safe!!

Thanks for this. Was debating about getting this, but I saw mixed reviews (mostly from people running it in airsoft matches). I don't have any plans on using this in matches, it would be just for extra training to save cost on live ammunition, so this review is perfect.

Try it for cqb practice training. Would be great for that, although no penetration capabilities & shrapnel but the gist

I did the same thing and purchased the ProForce M18 model for dry fire training, to mimic my P320 Compact. I installed a LaserAmmo laser barrel (Red laser) suited for 9mm, and used it in conjunction with the Mantis Laser Academy training setup. Loved it for a few seconds with the Green gas option, then the ProForce would get stuck in full auto, or multiple shots with each trigger pull. Magazine was cold from use, after only about 2 fills, and started to act up. Took it apart to see if maybe it wasn't greased or lubricated from the factory. Added grease to the slidepoints, and silicon oil to particular springs, and trigger mechanism. Still continued to get stuck in an auto-type shot style compared to individual trigger pulls. Would take anyone's advice from the airsoft world how to stop the multiple shots and auto issue.

Airsoft pistols only do that if a sear breaks unfortunately; you probably got a lemon. VFC (OEM of these guns) is really good for GBB rifles but their pistols pale in comparison in terms of quality, so ymmv

I just got my M17 Proforce today. This thing is awesome to train with for the price. Haven’t ran into any issues yet. Last round hold open works. Was able to get around 3 mags full with one fill(green gas). I keep seeing bad reviews, but the one I have is solid. It came with the optic installed. Not the greatest red dot, but it works.

Finally ran into issues with it not cycling. The green gas port on top of the mag is damaged and doesn’t have a good seal with the slide now. When the mag is filled with gas, it still doesn’t cycle because of that reason. I put electrical tape to fill in the gap on the seal and it works now. Still wait on a response and if they will be replacing the mag.

    • @86steventura

They need to make those top gaskets on the mags replaceable if they haven’t already. Or sell them
If it’s a wear item. Was able to get about 10 mags full before I started to notice problems.

I was going to say no, but I just checked and the Prosoft does have a removable FCU. I tried swapping FCUs between the two frames but they won’t fit in each other. I’m wondering if that’s more because of the manual safety than the frames themselves. So it might work, but no guarantee. The 320 FCU was tight in the Prosoft frame. When looking at the frames alone, I can’t even tell the difference (other than color and size).
