When people say stop living in the past and the past is still living.
Whoa. That's heavy.
That's powerful my love! I was looking for the words, but you spoke it so beautifully and simply...I need not say anything else.❤❤❤
Yeah and a lot of this makes me wonder whether or not this is propaganda. I'm skeptical of everything that's reported on. Especially, anything that's pushed to keep everyone divided. There's always an agenda but, if you are too emotional and make skin color your God. You will be too blind to see that. there's all other layers to this story. That I'd like to dig into and I'd like to interview this person. in order to ask more questions about his background. You got to be skeptical with these stories nowadays. I said what I said.. Especially, with the epidemic of BW and B children always being In Harm's Way when it comes to BM.
@@susiebear3316 Not everything is propaganda. Black people are still experiencing racism in the United States to this day so I hope you're not trying to imply that what our people went thru in that time is fake.
Stop living in the past and the past is still living ( I felt that )
These stories need to be told, like the survivors of concentration camps of WW2, like the slave narratives, when they don’t get told it gives people a chance to deny what’s been done in the name of white supremacy.
Blah, blah, blah. We need to hear about black supremacy.

Winfred Rembert (22 November 1945 - 31 March 2021) He died at age 75 years old. R.I. P Sir. "What an incredible man". My condolences to your family.
Omg 😢😢😢
Oh wow. He can now rest.
RIP... Its just sad that after what he went through the country is still in the same condition. It hurts.
I've been reading comments on videos on George Floyd's trial & omg. The tears won't stop. People are so evil, there's no humanity or compassion.
It's sad that this beautiful soul is gone but God knows he didn't need to be a witness to this country backsliding to those times & its atmosphere. I cant stop the tears. I cant bare to watch or read comments. I pray that God has mercy on us. Im tired of crying but thank God for allowing this man to live to tell his story. Rest in Heaven Mr. Winfred Rembert, now you can rest in the arms of God 🕊🙏🏽
Awwww...he passed away the day after my birthday. May he rest in peace.
Rest In Peace
I'm typing through tears. So many of us are living with the deep wounds of intergenerational racial trauma that manifest as severe PTSD, anxiety, depression, heart disease, high blood pressure, addiction and other types of mental and physical illness. I'm so grateful to have found this tonight. It's a little bit of healing and validation. I have a relative who was lynched by the klan during the jim crow era. It was widely known that white policemen and respected businessmen were are part of the group that did it. There was never any justice for it. Never. My father's family along with their community lived a daily reality of terror and degradation. Far too often in my life I've heard white people say "you're playing the victim...you're playing the race card...that was a long time ago, my family wasn't involved, the past is the past, etc." People cannot heal and move on when their wounds have never been addressed. The foundation of white supremacy in this country remains solid and strong. Last week gave a lot of people a disturbing bird's-eye view, but for many of us who watched...it was the same old triggering story.
Never addressed.
Very well stated
Indeed.🙏🏿
Superb analysis.
We also should get free mental health service because we are still suffering through this and have never been treated for this violence
Something that makes me really mad is the way the civil rights movement is portrayed in textbooks and whatnot. it is portrayed as if it happened forever ago when is it still very much recent and the pain he feels everyday is evidence for that.
So true. You won’t get the truth in the school books you have to do your own searching to see what they are to ashamed to put in the history books and teach kids.
It's not even the fact it was so long ago: It's been watered down so much to now it just makes it sound like now black people are just complaining about a little injustice
@@adriennegarcia6628 They're not ashamed of it. The hiding of the history is just a part of the whole criminal act.
May the Most High bless this King with Peace and heal his mind, body, and soul before he leaves this cold cruel world. Haliluyah 🙌🏽
The text book do portray the civil rights . I lived through those days . They weren’t all that long ago . My fear now is after having Trump for president that we have forgotten the horrors of Jim Crow once again .
This is the stuff they really ought to be teaching in schools.
Not they my Sister, WE.👍
You are so right. This is excellent historical nonfictional information.
REAL American History.
As a teacher, I couldn't agree more.
I agree 100%.
When he said, " I can't rest man" I broke down. The majority of injustices and atrocities that were perpetrated against my ancestors can never be rectified. In many ways our very existence is like a prison, knowing that you are constantly shackled to the inherent danger of going about your everyday business knowing you may be murdered simply for existing. These are the precursors for anxiety, ptsd, stress, and low life expectancy. May God have mercy upon the cowards who did this to you my brother. You are loved and you are important as well as your story. Not to mention your Star Wars collection
I hope God gives justice and not mercy to the people who did this to him.
May God have no mercy on those who have committed such atrocities!

As a BLACK man I am crying as I watch this video. I am a retired Vietnam WAR veteran who has served 34 years in the Navy. I thought that I have seen everything during my lifetime and especially during the wars that I was in.
But this is extremely moving and shocking. My grandparents used to tell me about the lynchings even my parents had experienced racism in the South and in New York City during the early 50s and they were both MILITARY doctors.
The stories that I heard about during the SECOND World war and my father's experiences with racism in the Army was mind blowing.
These are the stories that must be told as the real history of these United States. And the untold stories of POC in US prisons unjustly.
It’s important u tell your story. We’re only a few generations removed, and already they’re attempting to rewrite what the black American experience has been.

This man is an American hero. I wish him peace, rest and healing. Where are the reparations for victims of lynchings and their families?
Have they ever been able to track the families? Not sure. And I doubt the Government would accept responsibility for the actions of citizens, even though the Government idly sat by while it was happening.
Lynching is an embarrassment to this country, but remember, about 1/4 of those lynching's were Whites that were helping the Blacks too.

One of the most painful yet warming parts of this was seeing the pure love that we used to have for each other that seems to be gone. This touched me to my core. It's 12am and I couldn't sleep, so I pickup my device to check out the current news or to listen to ministry. This video immediately caught my attention, and I am so glad that I had viewed it. We who are black can only truly relate to these horrific and demonic practices. Every black family has a story that can be told. I for one remember my grandmother's stories of when she was a small child, and how she said that whites came and forced them off of their own land, in the rainly and cold of the night. They were told to wait at the end of the road to be pick up and hauled off as cattle to a reservation camp. Such cruelty, suffering, anguish, and tormented that our people have been subjected to, for well over 400+ years even to this present day. But oh what a glorious day! is on the horizon "The Great Getting Up." When all of the atrocities that have befallen us as a people on this earth shall be "rectified and recompensed" by Almighty Yah! upon the life's of those today, and their ancestors before them that committed these heinous murders. I offer up All Praises to the King of Judah HalleluYah!!!
These tears will never fade, respectfully. ✊🏾✨
I can't change this world but I can put a dent in it....I will remember that one.
