Message from Rovert because RUclips keeps deleting his comment: Hi, developer of Mario Builder 64 here. Noticed a lot of comments with concerns about this video. 1) I explicitly gave Haffey permission to make a video about this demo. 2) Mario Builder 64 will be free to play when it releases to the public, it will not be a paid product. The video here is showing off a stripped down version of the final hack that my Patreons can try out early. Additionally, I never distribute ROMs, only patch files, and given past legal precedent are permissable. Finally, everything I create is open source on GitHub all the time, available to anyone on the internet. My Patreons get the convenience of playing a pre-built version of the game, but technically anyone with the decomp tools set up can play it right now. (I would not recommend it, levels created with early versions will not be compatible with the full 1.0 release.)
No problem, I'm currently working on a video showcasing every course element included in the demo. I am also really excited for the full release, since not being able to save your levels kinda sucks.
@@SysDataSoftOffical They can since this is just a patch and you need to get the rom yourself tho. It's technically not illegal to charge money for the patch
I was not able to find it on Rovertronic's Github page. He did tell me that it's open source though, so I'm not sure where you would find it.@@SysDataSoftOffical
thats So So cool. i dont know what to say but i dont yet play SM64 , i wonder what people come up with. Ive built lot of maps before, CS pre-1.6 and 1.6, Tricky Truck, Nox, Warcraft 3 and a Motocycle game from 1999
Thanks i saw your reply! Also i really wish a map editor would be implemented into PHasmophobia, that game is dying so bad , the devs are killing their potential
I know it was a joke, but it's still kinda shitty to give Kaze credits for something he didn't make. I get it, Kaze is a good rom hacker. One of the best, if not THE best. That doesn't mean he made every hack that has ever existed.@@Hyperboid
Also, will we be able to edit the polygons, such as making hills etc. so it doesnt look like minecraft.. Yes I know there is slopes but like, custom slopes by chance?
In the finished game, will they be able to be exported into actual levels that you can replace the original sm64 levels with? I know this is a big expectation but Im just curious.
The demo it self doesn't generate income, the patreon does. I'm not paying for the rom hack specifically, I'm just supporting Rovertronic, and for supporting him I get early access to the demo. The full release is going to be free.

Can confirm this is me saying it ^
Legendary! Can't wait to see what others will be able to come up with once the MB64 comes out fully!
Appreciate the comment!
I can't wait for the full version of this to come out! Thanks for uploading this.

Nintendo's legal ninjas would be furious that they can't take the demo down because it's distributed as a patch
@@SysDataSoftOffical They can since this is just a patch and you need to get the rom yourself tho. It's technically not illegal to charge money for the patch
@@SysDataSoftOffical That's true
@@SysDataSoftOfficalNope, you can build it yourself using decomp as everything Rovertronic makes is free and open source.

Kaze didn't make this.
@@Haffey.z64 i think you missed the joke

Lowkey fire

Arthurtilly said on discord that this won't happen.

Probably not.
Doubt it. That said, I'm sure someone will make a blender addon that lets you import mb64 files
Or you could export the currently loaded scene with an emulator, and use that 3d model as the level.@@Hyperboid
@@Haffey.z64 How do you do that? What emulators have that feature?
@@Hyperboid I'm pretty sure you can do that with Project64.
That looks good!
It is!
I wish i could get this yet for some reason i just cant
Wdym you cant, its on the patreon in the description
You can either choose to donate a little money to Rovertronic(I think you'll need the "Cosmic Seed" tier), or wait for the full release.
You can also get the demo for free by building it yourself using decomp.
Mario Maker 3 is finally happening 🥹
Yes
Why does this Track on the Intro gives me horrible Flashbacks
Beyond the cursed Mirror wasn't that hard, right?
The showrunner theme is such a banger though.

Cool game!!😎

is it legal to include mario in a non nintendo licensed product that generates income? i can sense the cease and desist lol

Did you really not see that 1500 quota clutch me and phoenix did?
please don't charge for hacks. it's a shitty thing to do.
This is not my hack, It's made by rovertronic. The full release is going to be free, this is simply a demo.

Not only that, the hack itself is open source so anyone could compile it, this is just for donations
Uh oh it cost money DMCA incoming!
