Dont worry, you didnt deviate far enough because Toyota owns 20% of Subaru. I bet the hybrid Forester that's coming out this year will have Toyota Rav 4's hybrid system, same thing they did to Mazda's CX50 where Toyota owns 5% of Mazda.
Nice review Jeff, like your style of doing it. We bought a 2025 Subaru Forester Touring back in November. Love it so much. It is so practical perfect cousin of Rav4!!
Sport tuned suspension will give you a very comfortable ride. I also like the leather wrapped steering wheel. Forester has come a long way over the last several years. Thanks Jeff.
I’ll wait for the hybrid version, which should provide more power. Wish they’d stop forcing people to go through the touch screen menu for all the controls.
Nice vehicle but I think they went a step too far with the infotainment- some things still need to be buttons, knobs, Still a serious contender in the battles of compact SUVs. I think hybrid Mazda cx50 would be my pick right now- see how the upgraded Rav4 looks in 2026.
Yeah... I like knobs and physical buttons for most of the frequently used controls (climate control system, audio volume, etc.) that you can find by touch rather than having to find them on a touchscreen, and especially hate having to drill through multiple menus. That was one of the things I liked about the previous Foresters. A lot of brands are going back to knobs for some of these, so I hope Subaru heads that direction in the future.
The Forester used to be a fun car to drive when it came with a manual gearbox. But then it was turned into a boring crossover for soccer moms over 40. Keeping my 2002 Forester S Sport (Canadian edition) that has a 5-speed manual tranny and a limited-slip rear diff (and no stability control system and other stupid stuff)
Infotainment can be operated with ease even by my totally computer and electronically challenged husband so I'm not understanding some of the complaints.
I love Subaru, but I would never buy a new one. My 05 Forester xt 5speed is a badass little car, especially with the lift kit and 15" rally wheels. I hate HATE! The CVT transmissions in the new Subarus killed off the rumble of their exhaust, and the plastic moulding around the wheel wells makes me want to puke. The brand has become boring and really pushed that only lesbians drive a Subaru stereotype.
Thoughts on all-new Forester? What would you like me to review upcoming? I'll try to locate whatever you want. Thanks for Clicking Subscribe. Jeff
My wife picked one up about 3 months ago. We have had toyotas for 25 years. She loves this car.

Thanks that’s super cool of you to say! I appreciate you being part of the channel
Thanks for representing Detroit!
I'm still mourning the loss of a new Forester with a manual transmission. Mine is 16 years old.

The name of your channel should be AutoDAD Reviews!

Hope I nailed it haha
180 HP lawnmower 😂😂😂
I wish there was an XT trim level!
I got this care it’s so nice
Autojeff Does the car have auto stop/start. If so is there a defeat button. Thanks
you charge how much for splashguards? wow
My dad looking for a new car, the Toyota vehicles hard to come by so we looked at the Forster, only downside is price too close to rav4
Just 180hp in a SUV?My 2003 accord coupe manual has 160hp. Seems anemic
That's the problem with Subaru. Trying to turn small 4cyl wagons and crossovers into bigger crossover suvs. No towing, no pull, AND a strained engine.
Under the Symmetrical AWD badge…it should also have another badge…
“Slow AF”
Does it still have the horrible CVT?
under-powered
Please never sing a song by Duran Duran ever again. Thank you. 😅
Hahaha I’m taking requests for future videos! Duran Duran is off…for now

They would be so well served by dropping off a couple million with google and asking them to fix that atrocious infotainment system.

Infotainment is horrible
