I always use happy frog for solo cups and the 2 gallon transplant. Then transfer the 2 gallon happy frog Veg Plant into a 5 or 7 gallon with ocean Forrest. Seems to work out good for the veg to bloom transfer.

I haven't grown since fluorescent and HPS days (20 years) so I wanted to start off easy. So I got a SF 4x4 and G5000 led and looked at videos to see what's what these days. I found your Fox Farms trio soil video and though this is a perfect way to start off nice and easy. Well..... I'm in the last days of week 8 and I have 5 very happy plants ready to harvest any day now. I have not fed ANY veg or bloom nutrients at all. The only thing I've added to the soil is Gaia Green basalt rock dust twice. Once just after flowers started to appear. Then again 4 weeks later ( one week too late as I developed a very small manganese deficiency. I forgot it take a week or so for top dressing soil to take affect. But the plants recovered very well.) The only issue with your Fox Farms soil trio mix I found was my mistake of not filling the 5 gal pots full. So all 5 pots of mine have different levels of soil. Again, my mistake being in a hurry. With that said, one of my plants has like 3.5 gal of soil instead of 5. So I think this plant got into the strawberry fields a bit early. And with that said, that plant has freaking huge colas! This mix was great for my seedlings all the way through week 8 no NKP added at all this grow. I WILL be using this mix on my next grow for sure! Really amazing for a new grower, kinda fool proof if mixed proper. I wish I would have done 30% perlite in the strawberry fields I think that's the best for its drainage. THANKS 420 SCENE for making it easy to get back in the grow tent after 20 years!!!

I started in Jiffy starter soil in Jiffy peat cups. The bottom of my pot has old soil that's reamended. Then I put three inches of Ocean Forest and at the top three inches of Happy Frog. My old soil that's been reamended with worm castings, bone meal and that Jiffy reamendment pack. Seems to work. I have yet to have super incredible growth, but I get some love out of the plants. I also regularly use mycos, molasses and Epson. I also add liquid silica and aminos. My grow room sucks. It is too hot and cost me an arm and foot to run a light and AC (upper 80's, low 90)(I run three fans) so I've been running mostly sativa. I'm just getting my outside beans going. My plan is to get them into the ground by May 1. I'm doing photos and autos outside. In NY with a medical card I can do 12 ladies. I'm also helping others grow at their houses. Overall last year 150 of my clones grew. I can honestly say I became obsessed with growing.

I agree 100%. Happy Frog comes in 2 cu ft and Ocean Forest comes in 1.5 so I always started mine in Happy Frog then when transplant time comes I do a 1:1 of Happy Frog and Ocean Forest. Haven’t had any burn issues. I have gotten away from Ocean Forest in past years though since I like a more organic grow, so if I use Fox Farm now it’s typically just 100% Happy Frog or Cultivation Nation. Less synthetic. Haven’t tried Strawberry Fields yet but may have to give it a run.

Worm castings are my go to number one amendment. But I recently heard a grower say he got a mold problem from too much WC.
So remember too much of a good thing...
Same with molasses. I think people use too much. After inspecting the roots of a harvested plant one grower said the roots were coated with molasses residue.
I use a teaspoon or less per gallon and use every watering. I'm buying the microbs a free school lunch just to keep them alive. Not an all you can eat buffet where they are fat and happy. I want them to go to the plant for sugar. The idea is to grow the plant, not a bucket of microbs.

Im all about it. I run a 60/40 happy frog to ocean forest(roughly). i put about an inch of that in my solo cup, the rest gets micro rich seedling starter soil. just to put a little nutes in the bottom of the solo. Then after transplant i tend to get 2 or 3 weeks until i need to start adding feed to my waterings.

I like Light Warrior. I consider it essential for seed and clone planting. It is a very open texture soil so it allows the roots to breathe and grow easily. I found it in a 1.8 Cu Ft size so while it may come in smaller bags, it also comes in larger packages.

Another great video. I've done several runs with different options. My best runs were pretty simple. Happy Frog mixed with OF seems to work well until flower. I tried the SF in the bottom as well, but not sure if it helped or not. If your new, start out simple and let the plants tell you what they need. If your happy with your run, why F**k with it. Keep up the great content.

Before that my seedlings were fine after sprouting, its only since im reusing the soil that ive experienced seedling problems. I lost a few beans and im left with 1 plant rn recovering nicely from overwatering and burn but ive got 3 other beans on their merry way. Your always on point with the info in your videos. I have my ways of doing things and I have incorporated some things and tweaked some things from things I’ve learned from you. Sharing growers info is a wonderful thing. Our Ladies are super simple to grow, but it’s all up to you how good you actually want your outcome in quality of the harvest. One thing I know is my Ladies tell me what to do and that only comes with experience. Love your vids. Monroe ,Michigan toking on Gorilla Glue with a little concentrate smear on the paper 🥴

Currently on my second ever grow, used happyfrog for seedlings then repotted into ocean forest. Both my first grow and the current i have had constant ph issues. Put in 6.5-7ph and runoff is always under 6.0. Flush with 8+ several times to get the soil back to 6.5, next watering runoff will be back down in mid 5s again. Is this a soil issue? General hydro floral nutrients

When u say wood ash does it matter what kind of wood ash like hardwood example (oak , hickory etc) verses soft wood ( pine ,maple,)

    • @420scene
      @420scene  Год назад +1

That’s a really good question, I’ve used different types of wood ash and seems like the plants respond well to different types of wood so based on that analysis, I’d say it shouldn’t matter what kind of wood you’re using. The elements would be marginally different at best.

Yeaaaa ive fucked up and burnt my seedlings in OF lol, but i think its mostly because i re amnded the soil before re using it not realizing how much nutrients were still in the soil and ive lost 2 seeds but the rest are starting to pick up the pace

I haven't grown for well over a decade and therefore consider myself a beginner. I appreciate all the knowledge you're sharing from your own experience. I have a question that maybe you or your followers can help me with? I'm interested in trying bio365 soils and wonder if you or any followers have ever experienced growing in any of their soils (8 blends)? Mike, the founder and CEO says that their bio-flower and bio-bloom are excellent for growing autoflowers, from his personal experience. Hoping someone can share any experiences using their soils. Also, I purchased some Rain Science autoflower grow bags and would like thoughts on them as well. Thanks everyone.

I ran 4 runs last year using a mix 70/30 of Happy Frog and perlite . Used fox farm trio nutes.
I've got my first run of 2023 in Happy Frog. However, I'm about to start another 5 in Fox Farms Cultivation Nation 70% coco 30% perlite.
I always yielded at least 1.5 to 2 zips dry with an occasional over achiever 3 zips

I find making my own soil is fun and is far superior to store bought you can be the one in control of what’s in it add all the good stuff even if you follow a coots mix recipe it’s far better then store bought and it gets better as it ages just have to replace what plants take every run you can even send in a sample to find out just what you are missing to make the best soil you can make there are a few awesome brands of soil pre made build a soils is awesome any of their line up roots is ok espoma is pretty good one too there’s others but i recommend everyone e try making their own soil atleast once even if in small amounts I’m on day 4 of my neeest batch in a 200 smart pot and I use my own castings made in another 200 smart pot home made is great for many things not just soil building food all that the more hands on the better things are I feel taste of foods soil in this case
