So sad to hear him say . I'm not ashamed of being identified as what i am . I am a person with aids . But i know that you are in heaven now. But you are not your illness.. You are so much more . A person who laughs and cries .. Feels love and hurt... We are all growing , we are all learning.. You guys , from back then, would be so proud and happy to see how far the medical world has come in the last years ... ♥️
What these young men went through truly breaks my heart. Soy many boys lost to this awful epidemic. So many wonderful souls that had their whole life ahead of them, and did nothing to deserve what came to them, may they all rest in peace. 😢😢

Rodger McFarlane committed suicide in 2009 due the excruciating pain he felt due to back problems. He had heart issues also.
Many of the men working with the GMHC did die in the mid to late eighties.
