    Do you check your suitcases at the port and wait for them to be delivered to your room?

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  2 года назад

      You can walk on with bags (as long as they fit through a normal scanner) and/or check bags. Checked bags are left at the curb with a porter and then delivered to your room within a couple hours of boarding. I often check bags except for a small one with my laptop, meds, and things I want right away (many pack bathing suits to have right away). Others carry everything on. It's up to you.
      I talk about this a bit in "12 Things You Need to Do on Day 1 of Your Cruise" - ruclips.net/video/RULWb8yoX3E/видео.html

    Was Bimini cold in January

      I don't recall on this trip. There was one time in late Dec where it was unusually cold, but usually it's comfortable. According to WeatherSpark (link below with full data), on average in Jan, the high there is 76F and the low is 67F.

    Do we have to bring our own towels or do they provide towels at the Beach Club?

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  2 года назад +1

      Towels are provided at the beach club - as many as you need. No need to bring them with you if that's your only stop/plan in Bimini.

    Are the floats in the pool provided by the cruise company?

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  2 года назад

      Yep! They started selling some onboard, too. All the ones you see there are put there by Virgin for anyone to use.

    Can you snorkel 🤿 if you bring your own equipment?

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  2 года назад +2

      No reason you can't. The water is very clear, but I've not gone out to see if there's much to see there. You *may* have better luck at Kayak Beach, right at the end of the dock. The tram will stop there if you ask, as that's where excursions meet.

    Are there wheelchairs on board available for temporary use (not ever day and only once in awhile during a day and not inside the cabin)?

    • @CruiseHabit

      While the medical center may have one or two for emergency use, generally speaking, no. There are, however, companies that specialize in medical and mobility rentals for cruising. I've never used these, have no affiliation, etc, but found one as an example: scootaround.com/en/cruise-wheelchair-rentals
      Your travel agent can likely help make this even easier. Another great reason to use a good travel agent.
      It's worth noting that at The Beach Club, they do have rolled material over the sand in several areas to make it easier for those with mobility challenges - though of course given the terrain, it may not be quite as easy as permanent ramps.

    Is this beach club available to Carnival cruisers also? Do you have to purchase tickets in advance? If so where?

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  2 года назад +2

      When a Virgin ship is in port it is for the exclusive use of the property (and make it their own in many ways - as you can see).
      When Virgin is not in port then it's run by Resorts World Bimini Resort, and you can buy day passes at the hotel for around $50, though I don't believe that includes anything but access.

    so if you're sailing with Virgin, do you have to pay to get in?

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  2 года назад +1

      Access is complimentary. The only way to get in, while Virgin is in port, is as a Virgin guest. The tram will take you right to the entrance. No reservations needed. No extra cost.
