You can't get screwed. You bought it from copart. You knew.

Nobody looked at it before bidding?

Good thing it didn't start moving when the McDonalds guy was under it.

This is why you always, always, always inspect the vehicles you want to buy from copart *before* you buy.
Don't ever trust what places like copart say is wrong. There's also a trend happening lately where people will buy completely totalled cars and hack them up to make them look like easy rebuilders and then they relist them at copart. So take your time, do your research BEFORE you ever click that bid button.

Ive bought a bunch of vehicles from Copart and IAA and always plan on towing them home, never driving them for this exact reason. Ive purchased a couple pickups that were missing parts that were clearly there in the photos.

I buy a lot from copart. Always go and physically look at them b4 buying them. I've never had any issues with my local copart yard. And copart always clearly states that Run and Drive: This is the most misunderstood Copart term. At the time a vehicle arrives at a Copart location, Copart verifies that the vehicle starts, can be put into gear and can move forward under its own power. There is no guarantee that this is still true by the time a vehicle is picked up on location.

that's what they said, but there's no way it could have moved without the transmission pan

It's copart. You take it for granted its totaled when you buy it.
      That's why it's there

      People lie
They are in the bizness of moving stuff while overcharging fees
Internet ockshuns are mostly a joke
Even live ones are too due to friends or paid bidderuppers in the oddiunce, and even the owner of the bizness walking around holding the clipboard bidding you up in your face 🤔

that damage on the quarter looks like its been there for a while. seems like this was a private seller who wanted to dump a car with mechanical issues using body damage as a distraction.
run a vin check on cars. it will show you the date of loss and if a insurance company bought it out. maintenance history and any major repairs may be listed also, this may reflect on your bid.
shitty situation best of luck with it.

Let’s see: CoPart sells cars that have problems and are not front line ready - and you are surprised why? The whole idea of buying from CoPart is that you are cheaply buying a mystery box that may or may not prove to be worth more. I suppose this video helps balance out all the other CoPart videos of cars bought super cheap and then are repaired for almost nothing and are then flipped for maximum profits.

The fork lifts do a lot of damage to them vehicles I’ve seen them bust brake lines to fuel lines and even bend drive shafts would not doubt if a careless fork lift operator took that transmission pan off when moving the truck around the yard !

I would not of paid 2k for that trick the only thing that hs usable is the motor you got ripped off it’s a totaled truck on the title not a clean title .. you paid a running and driving clean title price.. you have to understand a lot of times they need a motor or transmission in your case that’s exactly why you got it so cheap needs a new transmission!

I absolutely hate when places like copart forklift cars. Its so hard on the underside of vehicle. They regularly damage exhaust and front suspension doing that...

you need to watch run and drive at copart. i have seen them on 3 wheels and the fourth wheel will be missing folded under or in the back seat with the a arm ripped out/apart laying on the ground but they were still advertised as run and drive.
