This 2014 Honda Civic Si looks stock from the outside, save for a few stickers. But what lurks underneath is a built motor with a Comp Turbos 5862, making 500 horsepower. There are more gauges than a submarine, but by looking at it from the outside, you'd never know. This Civic is some ride.

MaxSpeed yeah that’s definitely a troll lmao. However on the Toyota side of things, they hybrid iteration is usually faster in some cases. Like the Camry comes standard with a 2.5L inline 4 cylinder, where the hybrid version has the 2.5L 4 cylinder plus the electric motor, which is able to shave a solid second off the 0-60 time, however it doesn’t really hold a candle to the 3.5L v6 option they put in the Camry and the Avalon, but meanwhile it’s faster than the regular 3 cylinder option while getting way better mileage
As a fan of the vq35de and a previous owner of a g35, I kinda wanted to get likr a 06 v6 Altima, turbocharge it, and switch the 3.5 badge to 2.5, that would be a pretty funny troll lol, however I’d probably be driving a total shit box lmao

I'd de-badge it a little more to make it appear to be visibly more of a sleeper by removing the Si badge and 'i-VTEC DOHC' stickers. Then get rid of the spoiler to make it look like a hybrid variant.
I legit wouldn't. While the Si is a great trim, it's still not known for being exceptionally a fast car from factory. Si badge won't intimidate even people that know what Si means. And the wing needs to stay for safety reasons.,

He has the hybrid rear badge and hybrid tail lights. All he should do is put the black base model trim on it, that looks good on these cars.
The stock SI isn't fast its more of a feeling and momentum car.
@@Hopeful1s Often? Never seen a SI with anything other than a can. Now a civic hatch is a different story. We have modified cars around here and the SI is no exception but the guys around here are stanced out. The Subaru's, Evo's, Golf's, the local GTO on drag slicks, etc.

By far my most favorite civic build. None of that external flashiness most kids like. This car is all business without showing it. A true sleeper. And the owner seems real knowledgeable about everything done with the car. Well done. Well done. I wonder, could he consolidate at least half of those gauges into one unit? Like how a Cobb Access Port can show multiple parameters at once. Would really clean up the clutter inside. I think Greddy also makes something like that. Oh, and HAM radio FTW. This guy knows whats up!

Those Civic Si's are a great bargain. They were priced about 5-6K more than a bare bones Civic and they came with a bigger, more powerful motor, vastly upgraded suspension, tires/rims, bigger brakes, body kit, bucket seats, and a tighter steering rack. Most other vehicles charge you $1,500 for heated seats.
Kevin Mendoza I had a 2000 si and tried to run 23 lbs of boost and the rod popped right out of the block at around 6800 rpm in 3rd gear. That B16 was a bear but it wasn’t a grizzly.

@@kewlKID557 The B16 engine from that car can handle 500WHP with a turbo stock. You probably had a bad tune. TBH, you need a very good tuner to make 500WHP with stock internals on the B16 without blowing up but it has been done.
I've heard the 9th gen SI is still the best Civic SI you can get. The 2.4l engine can handle a lot of abuse in stock form.
SI0AX street tuned it 3 times on low boost, that day I kept on doing pulls and upping the boost, didn’t turn out too well

Hell I've seen D series in this range. You can hit 500hp on a stock K24 bottom end. Still an impressive car, but there are plenty of high HP hondas out there these days.
man at the time this video is out, there have probably been well over 10,000 civics that needed upgraded clutch's. Once you put turbos to civics even D series and especially K, B, H, and F series, they make power very quickly and big numbers easily.

Not really, spinning on rwd can cause fishtailing, spinning on fwd just spins and pulls straight. Just gotta run lower boost on lower gears with sticky tires and you'll hook fine
97 accord making 561 to the wheels here and it actually just feels like the car is "scating" somewhat like a car on ice, and they "walk" sorta like the diff cant keep traction on both tires,
But on my car they simply are gaining and loosing traction at different times so it gives the "walking"sensation.

Mfactory LSD is your problem, the problem with cheap LSDs is that it doesn't transfer the power efficiently. I remember someone having a cheap lsd on their 9th gen (Not sure if it was Mfactory) but when they did a burnout at the track, only one side had power. After they got a Quaife LSD it was much better. If Quaife makes a lsd for your car, look into getting one.
I cant believe its doing that with an LSD. That is like the whole point of a fucking LSD.....
I used wiseco pistons in my 4.6 rebuild, glad to see they hold up!

This build reminds me of the Mitsubishi Eclipse GST front wheel drive that I had in the 90s . after not finding traction and losing lots of races because of that I ditched front wheel drive, sold the car and went to the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX all wheel drive . all wheel drive easily added a 1 second difference or more to my quarter mile times. so with similar mods I went from low 12s to dipping right into the 11's easily with all-wheel drive, similar engine, full interior and cheap street tires. Great build and dedication but good luck finding traction as Matt so eloquently said. traction not your only enemy. all the weight shifting backwards on launch makes the front lighten up too.
