Great suggestions as ever, Squirrel! On top of owning your own trailers, it'd be great if you also had to load and unload them, using forklifts or cranes, or hooking hoses up to pumps.. Be a reason to get out the cab, too! ;)
TransOcean has time-based deliveries, but in some cases, they involved items like textiles or clothing which don't really have an expiry time. I think the concept might have been that you need to move X number of containers from A to B because of a sale, or some kind of promotion which has a deadline. It was never really specified about why the deadline existed though. You could also take a delivery for something that one of your ships isn't suited to carrying - like a Post-Panamax ship with refrigerated capability could take delicate items like computers. If you're caught, then you can be fined. There's also, in some ports, the option to transport illegal or contraband goods - the delivery payout is exceptional, but so too are the penalties if you're caught.
+Squirrel 15:10-18:3518:36-21:12 Good point actually, It is kind of random that they release a new game but don't change that much. And that not too much has moved on since ETS2
With trailer ownership, would be interesting if SCS would make you drive empty to a load point and drop, then have a lark about for a couple of in game hours, then return to the dock to carry your load and trailer to the destination drop.
Actually, that Renault was taking the inside line and it was shorther than the outside lane you took. :) so the Renault was not speeding (mostly because it cannot)
I think the creators of this map after they are pretty well focused on the area of Egypt can add the area of Israel it will be interesting to see how they are produced in this area because it is also relatively close to Egypt and also because I live in Israel
I wonder how this truck would look in the Squirrel Logistics skin. . . I saw this truck in another video, and was curious if you had seen it; well you did, and you used it. Good on ya, mate!
As you was saying towards the end of that video you would like to see some different things. One of my ideas would be adding newer models of trucks because as you said ETS is coming up to 4 years old and i would love to see ETS being brought into 2016/2017 and maybe even SCS adding their own logo creator that you can create your own logo to go on your trucks instead of relying on mods. However i do agree with you about the gameplay needing to be more challenging especially where you were saying about fragile cargo and having to adapted to a driving style to suit the needs of cargo your hauling. It was a great video Squirrel i really enjoyed it :)
Great Video. Suggestions to SCS, I would like to see multi-drops (try to keep to a tight schedule), better AI, greater variety of loads (tandems built into the game engine), and roadworks that move location.
It would be cool if SCS could add temporary speed limits on major roads ( on motorways/duel carriageways) for when there is stormy whether. For example, if a coastal motorway had strong winds, then the speed limit could be lowered from being 80km/h to 60km/h. As well as that you would be able to feel the wind on the truck. This should be scripted into the code instead of being done through updates.
They should make a mod where u can actually get out your truck and if you break down u can call the break down service and they come and see if they can fix it on the roadside or u have to towed away and u get in the recovery truck
Paul that bridge you was talking about at 6:00 its actually the Humber bridge which you can drive across to get to Hull lol! Its part of the A15 & A63 so yeah very copy and paste :P
I completely agree with what you say, Paul. At this stage of the game, with ProMods having done such an amazing job with the maps, I'd like to see SCS focusing their efforts more on the core gameplay, than map DLC. I'd like the "game" to become more like a "sim". Cos at the moment, it's really not. They're kinda moving in the right direction with the Advanced Trailer coupling, but that shouldn't be an option, it should be what it is. And in ATS, take out the stupid option to always make parking tricky. It should be random. As it would be in real life. You're not going to arrive at a Walmart and the guy say "you wanna put it somewhere easy, or tricky ?". Same with things like being able to adjust the trailer stability. Again, not an option. Hauling bricks is going to be more stable than hauling milk sloshing about. Should be built in to the game physics. And fix the AI. Seriously. The AI on a busy multi-lane road coming to a complete stop because you have your blinkers on, to let you make a turn is ridiculous.
I'm sure the majority of ETS2 veterans like myself totally agree with you. I have very similar ideas when it comes to gameplay expansion. For sure mods extend the game's lifetime, but I find myself playing it less and less, because it's getting to a point where it's just more of the same. I truly hope SCS will bring in some fresh gameplay features, but I very much doubt they will. They see world of trucks as the big gameplay addition and they're more than likely going to focus on expanding that, than things in the game itself. Good thing we can switch between ETS2 and ATS, to at least have some variety.
yeah I was going to point that out as well.. that exact scene is in the UK between Grimsby and the Hull seaport and you can drive over that exact bridge
Whats funny is that a lot of the stuff you're suggesting has already been done by SCS in games like 18 Wheels of Steel. I don't know why they didn't integrate some of those features over when designing ATS and ETS.
Hey Squirrel, you should do some videos on the OMSI 2 Sydney, Australia map: Manly Act Two. It's freeware, and a really amazing map, one of the most detailed I have come accross in OMSI.
Just my opinion, but it would take a lot of time and effort into lining out jobs for my drivers. I guess it would be feasible for some folks, but I just want the drones making me money so I can drive and buy places and more trucks. I have seen some "manager" type games where you do dispatching and getting contracts, but that is outside my personal sphere of interest. I am sure it would be embraced by some. Loved the video though. Keep on trucking Squirrel.
really good looking truck. you should keep it in your fleet... I agree the theme of the game should move forward more. If they do not move forward, somebody else will develop game that does work in the ways you discussed..
The thing is, they just don't have the manpower for it, if they had as much people working at scs as some company like rockstar games, they already would have dx11 support, more realistic job market, the ability of owning your own trailer. etc. etc.
I wouldn't of thought that buying your own trailers required loads of manpower TBH. The function of buying is already there, they just have to put in Tralier dealers.
That's a great deal of game mechanics, interfaces, and code that has to be created for the purchase storage and maintenance of trailers. Plus trailer rental has to be included becase that is a big business in the real world, there are always going to be situations where it's not affordable or it doesn't make sense for various reasons to buy a trailer. And you need to create art assets for trailer dealers and possibly trailer yards and then place them all over the map. And once all that it sorted you need to test everything and make sure it actually works and go back and fix the stuff that doesn't It's not a case of simply flipping a bit in the code and going back to sniffing cocaine off a prostitute's backside.
they should also bring in tachograph timings and fines in aswel like your supposed to have 45 mins off every 4 1/5 hours and can only drive for 12 hours but can do a couple of 16 hour shifts a week but then have to gave 48 hours off driving. just a thought it would make it more realistic as its too easy just to have to play one stop a day youd have to play 3 or 4 a day and the fines are big if ya get caught cheeting the system in game and out.
There was more complexity to the job market in the various 18WoS games there is to ETS2 and ATS. It's a great pity they dropped that. Also for oversized items the customer is going to prefer a hauler who can provide trailer, whether they own it or rent it, rather than source a trailer from one company and a tractor from another.
am just played amerecan truck simulator and i did a new profile and you now all the men and i se you in real life they tried to do you in the game and thats awsome. sorry for my english is really bad. am love you and all your videos am from sweden keap playing games newer stop.
Great videos please keep them coming! I gave up player multiplayer over a year ago due to the amount of trolling, could you tell me if its still as bad in your opinion?
I think if we could own trailers too that would be more realistic...Actually I don't know any companies that don't have own trailers.(Maybe the reason for that is: I haven't seen lots of logistic companies)
1:25 - 2:20 it's been a while I don't watch Squirrel bully/mock/make fun of a Renault truck XD 24:11 - 24:16 "and yes you may be wondering why I've got 10 trillion... billion... squillion... euros in my bank" XD
Would it be possible to increase your viewing distances (like side mirrors) ? The scenery-vehicles(AI) disappears. Also I agree with you regarding the idea of more cargo based trip planning but wouldn't that have to be integrated with the mods aswell. Which in turn would leave us at the same junction we are at right now in terms of Advanced Trailer. - Pedanticzing Thank you for your wonderful work.,get well soon.!
I wish there was a bit more load seperation. Like if you only wanna haul ADR stuff or equipment ect. I know you can set it in the freight market to only show certain loads but still. A bit more in depth would be nice
Also a few different loads, like real oversized and heavy stuff just like Roadhunters pack and not High Power Cargo because that wasn't something special.
Squirrel, the map in Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator doesn't have Earth or Satellite view which I prefer over the standard map view every time. Don't you agree that SCS Software should start adding one or both of these views into both games out of the box without needing to install them yourself?
5:12 Queen Mary 2!! Lovely touch. awesome vid squirrel
That looks like the Humber Bridge, even down to the tug boat under it.
Yeah. Defoe the Humber Bridge. That section of mapping was taken from Hull in ETS.
TSM is mainly copy-paste. Their Greece doesn't look anything like the real Greece.
+Aristotelis Mitsiou (tkk7406) except hills
ΑΡΗΣ ΚΟΡΝΑΡΑΚΗΣ Ε, κάποια απ' αυτά.
I know the bridge is in the base game and its drive-able, and its near one of the harbors. I can look up for it, but I think you already found it.
Great suggestions as ever, Squirrel! On top of owning your own trailers, it'd be great if you also had to load and unload them, using forklifts or cranes, or hooking hoses up to pumps.. Be a reason to get out the cab, too! ;)
I agree with your ideas in 100 % they are awesome. For you thumb up and for the SCS a bit of think of. All the best Squrrel thanks for nice episode
Totally agree with you but I'll love to see multi-drop jobs
TransOcean has time-based deliveries, but in some cases, they involved items like textiles or clothing which don't really have an expiry time.

Sure would not want to be on any of those planes when they land like that, great video
+Squirrel 15:10-18:35 18:36-21:12
Good point actually, It is kind of random that they release a new game but don't change that much. And that not too much has moved on since ETS2
Coast to Coast for ATS is shrinking every time SCS completes a new map DLC.
Those gravel road sound effects are glorious, I've got to get myself that mod
Pavel said that Coach Simulator is said to have the 'g' force meter to show how your passengers are affected by your cornering.
you shod dow it fuck squirrel do a nother bich
With trailer ownership, would be interesting if SCS would make you drive empty to a load point and drop, then have a lark about for a couple of in game hours, then return to the dock to carry your load and trailer to the destination drop.
loved this video Paul u never let me down and I absolutely agree with everything you said about the trucks and trailers
Actually, that Renault was taking the inside line and it was shorther than the outside lane you took. :) so the Renault was not speeding (mostly because it cannot)
Back to the olden days... And I love it :)
Thanks Paul, another fun video! I like the sound of world of trucks, will have to look into that now! :-)
Squirrel, doing the (Game) Lord's work! [19:50 Area]
I think the creators of this map after they are pretty well focused on the area of Egypt can add the area of Israel it will be interesting to see how they are produced in this area because it is also relatively close to Egypt and also because I live in Israel

i hope to see more of these kind of trips in your videos their really entertaining to watch,
thanks squirrel :)
I like your ideas fantic. brilliant as usual ,
the best youtuber
having a load shift or spill would be neat...
Great Video. Suggestions to SCS, I would like to see multi-drops (try to keep to a tight schedule), better AI, greater variety of loads (tandems built into the game engine), and roadworks that move location.

From 5.35 to 7.18 looks like the road going to hull docks
They should make a mod where u can actually get out your truck and if you break down u can call the break down service and they come and see if they can fix it on the roadside or u have to towed away and u get in the recovery truck
I like your thinking about what they should have as mods
Paul that bridge you was talking about at 6:00 its actually the Humber bridge which you can drive across to get to Hull lol! Its part of the A15 & A63 so yeah very copy and paste :P

6:08 There is a bridge near Grimsby, UK in ETS2 which you can drive on.
yeah I was going to point that out as well.. that exact scene is in the UK between Grimsby and the Hull seaport and you can drive over that exact bridge
ENJOYING THE SERIES
The Idee of owning your own trailers would be awesome!!

Paul, agree with you 100% regarding how the game needs to be developed.
Nice vid, TSM is more of an adventurer's map, don't care about the details...always liked TSM.
Hey Squirrel, you should do some videos on the OMSI 2 Sydney, Australia map: Manly Act Two. It's freeware, and a really amazing map, one of the most detailed I have come accross in OMSI.
5:29 it's the Rio-Antirio bridge
you do know that truck that was "broken down" was a Renault, right?
Just my opinion, but it would take a lot of time and effort into lining out jobs for my drivers. I mean Promods isn't really a large group, and they've expanded ETS2 by an insane amount. I dont think Rusmap is such a big group either...
It would be great if you do a special "adjustment" video, like the one Arumba do, to suggest improvements.
I love the idea of owning trailer it will we so cool!!
they should also bring in tachograph timings and fines in aswel like your supposed to have 45 mins off every 4 1/5 hours and can only drive for 12 hours but can do a couple of 16 hour shifts a week but then have to gave 48 hours off driving. just a thought it would make it more realistic as its too easy just to have to play one stop a day youd have to play 3 or 4 a day and the fines are big if ya get caught cheeting the system in game and out.

I was really hoping you'd stop and analyze the aircraft landing and stuff. Missed opportunity!
Oh yes thanks Paul! More ETS2 please!
Nice Vid Squirrel. Quite enjoyable! :)
Golden gate bridge?! It's clearly the humber bridge lifted from the UK map...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that huge bridge "golden gate bridge" and stretch of road, from near Rostock on the vanilla map?
I think scs should bring into ETS 2 and ATS where u need to fill the Reefer Trailers or the Trailers that need fuel to run such as Refrigeration..
I agree with every thing you said squirrel
Euro truck always has beautiful graphics :)
That trailer is dangerous
at 2:00 the Renault, he was runnniiinggg
they may have got it from the bridge to Grimsby possibly
I'm ;surprised you managed to resist the temptation to stick the Renault in the crash barrier...
Can you do a series of planet coaster please?
SO HAPPY YOU ARE DOING ETS2 AGAIN:]
that big brige was the humber
am just played amerecan truck simulator and i did a new profile and you now all the men and i se you in real life they tried to do you in the game and thats awsome. sorry for my english is really bad. am love you and all your videos am from sweden keap playing games newer stop.

I want your truck it is amazing. Love your videos Keep it up
hey paul, when is the 'euro truck diaries' going to start? eagerly waiting for it.
you have 100% right of the job market :-)
on the single carriage ways you can get away with doing 90 kph if you good at spotting the speed cameras
If you can, you should really have your Amber lightbar on- not sure if it's possible
I would love to see that you could buy your own trailer.
Squirrel, would you mind posting your FFB-settings for both, the Logitech-Profiler and in-game-settings? Many thx in advance!
I wish there was a bit more load seperation. Like if you only wanna haul ADR stuff or equipment ect. I know you can set it in the freight market to only show certain loads but still. A bit more in depth would be nice

Holy crap look at that cash amount haha! 10 quadrillion Euros!
I know this is one year old but he is using a test account for exploring the map expansion mod
This is what I sent to SCS:
Key: - Add, X remove
- Realistic crash physics
- Multiplayer as a default
- The whole of europe
X Renaults (lol)
Lol
MrDirtz What do you mean with X Renaults
pulling 2g laterally in a truck? Now that I'd like to see :p

I think the france DLC will be coming for le 14 juillet. (National Day)
Squirrel has come home.
Why did he revert back to using the G27?
I remember him saying he had a G29 when it first came out, and he was giving away his G27. What happened?
SQUIRREL ROCKS!!!
*THAT IS A MASSIVE BRIDGE*

That's a good idea for g forces
How do you get the old dashboard back
