I had upgraded myself from a previous G series this and I've had the 20 for a while now. Honestly, it is a fantastic machine, A couple thoughts, really the lat-row optional stack is optional. I use the leg press attachment as the footplate and sit on a box to get a better angle with the pulley on of the weight stacks that come with the base model, works perfectly. So at this point thing you really get is a dip section, which for 1K isn't worth it - even with the price reduced recently on the website of the base model from 7k to 6K. Also, they rotated the orientation of the smith press hooks from the G9 and 12, which is fine - for the leg press I honestly find it makes it harder to get the thing racked - what they did for the G3 really should have been incorporated here. If I had one other criticism the lack of a 5lb adjustment on the weight stack is a real pain in the butt for certain exercises - lateral raises for example are a tough one to progress without micro adjusting up. Because of the shrouds on the weights it makes aftermarket 5 or 2.5 lb change plates difficult if not impossible. I'm half tempted to take off the inside shrouds as a result. Outside of that, I love just about everything else about the machine - definitely a better use of space then then G9 or 12 and is super smooth to use.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts in such a detailed comment. The G3 leg press safety bars should definitely, if possible, be added to everything moving forward.
@@StevieRichardsFitness NP; I've bought several things after you've reviewed them :). Some further thoughts, they add these bolt protectors over during setup the protect the cable from the threads of the bolt - that was absolutely brilliant on their part. Also the extra few inches to the height of the machine made a tremendous difference I think for the pulley system; you don't have to hunch for basic exercises as much like tricep extensions. Only a problem if your a little taller, but I'm 5'11, not super tall, but something else I appreciated from this design.
How are lat pulldown? The height at the highest pulley position doesn’t seem tall enough for me to sit comfortably on a bench with the leg holder. Will I have to do it on the floor? Would you have preferred a 2:1 ratio?
I have a G20 and I love it. Still trying different exercises with it but overall it offers most of what I want. In particular, the machine is incredibly solid and all movements are very smooth. Your point on the 1:1 ratio is worth highlighting, as it’s relevant for exercises that require lighter weights, like side or front lateral raises. Also I think my wife will struggle with certain exercises with the starting weight. They really should have included some smaller, lighter weights at the top of the weight stack to better accommodate for that. Also I was surprised it didn’t include ankle straps given that leg curls are listed as one of the exercises. Overall, I’m happy to hand in my gym membership and work out with this beast.
Hey Jason, Thanks for the detailed comment. I’ll be sure to pass along your excellent feedback to the company. Also, I didn’t realize an ankle strap wasn’t included.
@@StevieRichardsFitness It didn’t come with mine and I’m pretty sure none is listed in the manual. Btw, thanks for your videos. It did help me to make the decision to buy one. I’m based in Australia so I didn’t get to purchase through your link - but you should get some credit for your reviews. One other point - I second your recommendation for getting the professionals to install. They completed it in under 6 hours - no way I would have been able to do that.
Great review, and as always looking back and revisiting adds value and new insights, many thanks. On a different note, ForceUSA is highly underrated. I have their Myrack and attachments, and I can't think of a bigger bang for buck for what you get, close to premium quality and build at a fraction of the price of Rogue and others.
Thanks for watching the video and commenting. The MyRack will always have a special place in my home gym journey. When I first saw the modularity of it, I almost thought it had to have corners cut. It didn’t and I was pleasantly surprised.
Do you know if the starting weight on the additional lat row station upgrade the same? It starts at 20lbs and that is the lowest you can have it even when removing the pin?
Hey Travis, That’s a good question. I’ll have to check with support on that. When I have a chance before that, I’ll look through my videos to see if I can confirm that or the information is different. I reply back in this thread.
Hi Stevie. Do you have any idea of what is the deal with the G10 and G15? They are arleady for sale in Europe but i cant find a video demonstration of any of them. I loved the fact that you can change the pulley ratio, but i really wanted to see a review of it. Also, do you know if the pulley ratio can be changed to 1:1 too? I know it can be changed to 2:1 and 4:1. But i am curious about 1:1. Thank you in advance and keep it up with the videos.
Hey Pedro, I believe the pulley ratios are only going to be 2:1 and 4:1. They will not include 1:1. However, if the weight stacks are beefy enough, it should be a problem. Personally, the 4:1 ratio is going to be a game changer for drop sets as those who life very light. Even though both the G10 and G15 aren’t available here yet, please use my link if you do decide to get one of them: www.forceusa.com/stevie
There aren’t any 3rd party dealers in NC that I know of. If you do decide to purchase anything from the website, please use my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie
Hey Marcus, If you’re talking about the lat pulldown upgrade, it’s nice to have that dedicated stack and pulldown height. However, in my opinion, the G20 base is more than enough for almost everyone. The included attachments and amount on the stacks will be awesome for most. If you do decide to purchase the G20 or anything else, please use my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie

If you need a smith machine with 1:1 cable pulley ratio, the G20 will be the one. Also, you can add the lat pulldown attachment. If you need a smith machine and 2:1/4:1 cable pulley ratio is ok, go with the G15 Pro. We have that in our garage gym and it’s been great. If you want an open rack(no smith machine) with a functional trainer(2:1) then take a look the X15/X20 models. They’re beasts. What did you put your G20 on? Horse stall mats?
Just wondering what the footprint is of the stall mats I would need to buy

Excellent machine. Although the attachments are not commercial grade. The weld joints are terrible
Great idea
Pleas make a video about the new G15 with its 4:1, 1:1 and 1:2 gear ratio. Thanks
Stay tuned. 😬
Great video, does someone know if there are any reviews on the g10 and g15? it looks like in australia and new zealand these might be available.
I thought “Rep direct” had a multi grip bar you could use on the lat pulldown or as a row?
Sorry for your loss
If you were to compare this G20 Pro to the Tytax T1-X, which one is the better?
I’ll look further into that comparison and make a video. Stay tuned.
I can't wait! 😀

Liked to watch this.
Btw: What do you think about the new G15?
Thanks for watching.
I’ll definitely be giving my thoughts on the G15 soon. Stay tuned.
Ordered this earlier today 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️

I am up between the G20 and the jacked up pro all in one. which would you go with if you were building your own garage build ?
