    Hi Steve, good stuff. In my opinion I think a 1:1 and 2:1 ratio machine combined would be far more versatile

    • @StevieRichardsFitness

      That would be pretty awesome. I wonder if the engineering is too tough for that.

    I think my G12 out does all these with a 1.1 ratio, just wish they would include jammer arms with this model. Hope they don’t forget about past models!!

      How funny! I was actually going to sell my G12 for an Inspire SCS!
      Do you mind me asking what you didn't like about the FT2? I'm just mainly not loving the 1:1 ratio on the G12 as i'm a pt with female clients. I'm trying to decide between Inspire SCS and the Force USA G12.
      Would love your input!

    Hi there Steve. Since you have tested the G15 i have one question to ask you: Is the weight stack with the 2:1 ratio enough to do a Lat Pulldown or a Seated Row? My concern is that being only 2:1 or 4:1 the weight stack total weight won’t be enough. So.. what do you think? Can we do lat pulldowns and seated rows or the weights are not enough?
    Thank you in advance

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness  2 года назад +2

      Each stack on the G15 has 285 pounds which would make a single stack 142.5 with the 2:1 engaged.
      You could do pulldowns from the center using one of the bars that hook on both cable pulleys. That would make it a true weight(1:1). However, there isn’t a knee holder for heavier pulldowns.
      It really all depends on how heavy you’re going to do movements on the cables. If 142.5 is too light or you know you’ll progress past that, the G20 is definitely has more growth in cable progression. You’ll get 289 pounds of 1:1 resistance on each stack.

    Hi Stevie, thanks for the review, it has definitely stirred me to G15. The only concern I have is 142.5 pounds pulley won't be enough for lat pulldown or seated row. I am wondering if you can insert the pin from the back of the weight stack, so I can add the weight stack extender? Thanks

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness  2 года назад +1

      That’s a great question and, yes, 142.5 pounds can be limiting for some.
      With the covers installed over the weight stacks, I don’t think it would be a good fit for plate extenders or adding plates outside with a pin.
      You could work from the middle with one of the included bars, attach both weight stacks to it and get a 1:1 ratio that way. Of course you’ll need to find a way to keep your body in place when doing heavy pulldowns.

      @@StevieRichardsFitness thanks Stevie for your reply. From the Force USA website, i can see the back of G15 weight stacks also have the pin holes, wondering if that could be the place to install the extender

    • @StevieRichardsFitness

      That could be a possibility. I’m just not sure about how much weight you can add before it does any damage to the weight stack tubing or infrastructure.

    Hi Stevie, I’m confused about you mentioning that you had trouble with a delt raise w/g20 1:1, if you pulled pin out, wouldn’t the lightest weight be 10lbs, that doesn’t seem right. I don’t know you personally but you appear to be able to do more than 10lb delt raise?
    Also, is there anyway to add fractional weight to g20 either using platemates magnetic 2.5 / 5lb for increments?
    The g15 looks nice but we liked the kitchen sink that came with the g20!!

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness  2 года назад +1

      Hey Pauline,
      I should have also mentioned that, from injuries, I’ve always tended to be weak with cable delt raises. The angle has never really been something that I’ve been able to have strength in that exercise. I’m much better with dumbbells when it comes to that.
      Some have used the pins that hold plates on the outside. The G20 covers would probably limit the compatibility of those types of accessories.
      The G20 is definitely a great choice, especially with the current pricing.

      @@StevieRichardsFitness yes, that's right, I think when I asked Force about fractional, they recommended to leave cover off, which we may do. The G15 appears to have a more 'open' stack from the back, that it appears it would work better for this, however, the 2:1, 4:1 omits the necessity for that. By the way, we ordered G20 and used your affiliate link, Thank you so much! I would love to see a video on above mentioned hacks to obtain fractional functionality to this trainer. :)

    Thank you for all the great comparison videos. I am trying to decide between the G20 and the G15 too.
    My biggest problem with the G20 is the footprint. With the weight storage racks on the back, the depth of the machine becomes too deep. I had hoped Force would take the G20 and flip the weight racks to the side.
    I like the 1:1 weight ratio on the G20. Not sure I would ever actually need the 1:4 ratio on G15.
    I know the G15 is a newer model, but a lot less options for the money. You lose a lot of attachments with the G15 that come with the G20. G20 also currently comes with Barbell.
    By the time you add the upgrade kit and barbell, you’re at $7000 for the G15 and the G20 is still at $6000…. Maybe they will offer some discounts/promos for the G15.
    Tough decision to make. Ideally for me, Force would:
    1. Flip the weight racks to the side on the G20, or
    2. Drop the price on the G15

      I’m considering the G20 mainly, or the G12. You can remove the plate storage bars. I would mount them on the wall, screwed to a bar of steel of course.
      My question is can you remove the rear frame and mount that to the wall somewhere else. With a spacer of course to keep using the accessory hooks. I looks like this rear frame is not essential for the G20’s structural integrity.
      What do you think Stevie?

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness  2 года назад

      All great points. Thanks so much for commenting and it is a super tough choice. Even after recording this video, I’m still not sure which way to go.
      The G20 footprint is added by placing the plate holders in the back, but that was probably because they put the globe grip pull-up bars on the sides.
      If you use my link, you do save a little bit on products like the G15 and G20. That may help with your decision.

      Simon,
      I’m not sure of the engineering requirements of that rear part of the frame, but it may void the lifetime structural warranty.
      You can opt to not install the plate/barbells holders and save on the footprint that way. I didn’t install the barbell holder on the G3 because my ceiling was too low.

    Is the Smith 1to1?

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness  2 года назад +1

      The resistance on both smith machines are 1:1 when loading plates. However, the bar on the G15 is counterbalanced, so it starts at zero while the G20 bar is 35 pounds.

    Hello Steve, can you combine both and get a 1:1 on the G15? Dividing the stacks by two with the 2:1 makes pull downs a bit light… let alone with the 4:1
    At the gym I easily do small grip pull down with 70Kg and when I really get in shape I use 90Kg…

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness  2 года назад

      Hey Simon,
      Yes you can workout from the middle with one of the included bars that attach to both weight stacks. That will give you a 1:1 ratio on exercises like pulldowns.
      The G20 is still the best choice for true 1:1 in their lineup at this moment. The G12 is also a great option.
